Steelers going for it on 4th and goal from the 1 when they are up 31-7 in the 4th quarter. That's horrible sportsmanship. Just kick the field goal.

Edit: And Cowher challenges it to get the touchdown. There should be a fight in this game.

Oh god. I hope Herm Edwards beats his ass.

Unluckily I get the Dolphins/Jets game in my area, what a snooze.

Although it is fun laughing at the Dolphins

I disagree. This is the NFL and as bad as KC is playing, they still have the capability to explode. If it was 4th and 10 on the 10 yard line I'd agree with you, but it was on the one. I remember two games in which big leads evaporated....

Jets come back from a 30-7 defecit in the 4th?

They would have still gone up by 5 scores if they just kicked the field goal. I think that is enough with 12 minutes to go in the game.
Hey, 49ers Defense show up if you could please! Thanks!
for reals, this is fucken weak.

Either way you have a 90% chance of getting a score and as the defending champs with a 1-3 record I don't blame them leaving nothing to chance.

You think Cowher would have learned something from last year's playoff game when Bettis fumbled in a goal line carry that nearly knocked them out of the playoffs.

I get what you are saying, I just don't think going for it was that bad. It wasn't like Steve Spurrier running it up in the pre-season a few years ago.

Joey Harrington has really shown me something in this fourth quarter. Hopefully they change their gameplan in the next few weeks to open up the offense (without Ricky their running game ain't cutting it).

I don't know, Ronnie Brown has looked pretty solid today. I was with 2Fast as I fell asleep during this snoozer. Then woke up for the excitement in the fourth. Harrington has looked solid, I wonder what could've been if he'd been playing all along instead of Daunte (never thought I'd be saying that!).

And how about those Bucs, 2Fast. Cadillac was actually let out of the garage last week, it was the defense that finally got it together today. And of course....the Bruce is Loose. I said it last week, Gradkowski for Rookie of the Year!

Cadillac played very well, for whatever reason they neglected him the first few weeks of the season. Hopefully today served as a reminder to them that he's a weapon.

Bruce played well. He made some rookie mistakes (which is to be expected), but still pulled through. Like I said before, he reminds me a lot of Jeff Garcia. He just very well be rookie of the year. I hope Tampa can turn their season around and end strong.

Reminds you of Jeff Garcia? The kids that bad?
Reminds you of Jeff Garcia? The kids that bad?
Jeff Garcia had some very good years.
Jeff Garcia had some very good years.
Yeah. Before SF was in total rebuild mode they had some good guys around him and Garcia was pretty good.
Jeff Garcia had some very good years.
Well, from the years watching Garcia I was never a fan of his, sure, the little dance moves were nice no doubt, but he couldn't throw the ball 10 yards or farther without it wobbling, a great percentage of his throws were 5 yarders that T.O., JJ. Stokes, Eric Johnson, Garrison Hearst took to the house. He was a product of the people around him, evident in the situations in Cleveland and Detroit.

To be more specific, he has the same build as Garcia, same throwing motion, and he is pretty mobile as well. After Rich Gannon said it, it clicked in me as well.

I never realized it either until Gannon mentioned it also, and so far it seems to fit with his style of play, and what I saw of Garcia in his 49er days. It's true Garcia had great talent around him, and Gradkowski also is surrounded by some nice talent in Galloway, Clayton, Smith and Cadillac. The Bucs have never had great luck with QB's so I'll take an above-average quarterback that meshes nicely with Gruden's offense and the players designed to fit in that scheme. Thankfully, I've only seen one tipped pass in the past two games, and that was driving me crazy with Simms.

That can be said about anyone in football. It's the one sport where no matter how good you are individually, your success is built on the players and coaches around you. An idividual in basketball or baseball can still be great despite their team. Not so in football.

Yeah, and it's an unfair analogy. Joe Montana in his prime couldn't win 7 games with those teams.

Me too :bomb:

I just learned that we aren't allowed to show football in the store I work at anymore on Sundays. My guess is we'll adhere to that directive for about 2 weeks before our store manager goes into withdrawls.

Also I need a qucik FF analysis. Bulger is on a bye next week, Favre (at Miami) is my backup that rides the pine right now though. I do have the option of picking up Kitna or Leinart who both face sort of soft pass defenses (Jets and Raiders respectively). Any opinions on who should get the start?

While I agree it is a bad call, I can see how someone made such a bad call. From the replay I saw today it did kind of look like the Bengal went WWE when he tackled him to the ground.
ive been trying to find a video of justin smiths wee style sack...anyone got a link...ive searched youtube and nothing
I found this link:

The more I watch it, the more I understand why it was mistakenly called with the angle Carey had and how fast the play happened. I was also listening to Chris Mortensen on MNF Countdown and the NFL told officials that when they see anything that looks like a major hit on a quarterback not to hesistate to throw the flag. I actually think Carey is one of the best head refs in the NFL, along with Ed Hochuli (who made a nice call at the end of the Seahawks-Rams game) and definitely gives the best explanations.
Leinart Leinart Leinart.
I picked him up at about 430 this afternoon for anyone that cares. I'm pleased to see he's doing this well against the bears so far too, gives me hope I can maybe win next week game despite 4 original starters missing due to byes or injuries, my bench isn't terribly deep either.

This is the first time I've actually been shocked while watching foot ball this season.

I had no money on this game, because something told me it was bad, and this is it, it is bad. Bad for the Bears because Lionheart is the real deal here.
They should keep Charles in the booth all year.
Ugh. Are you serious? The man can't pronounce Jugular. "Jubuldar" I hate Barkley.
