No person should question Tiki Barber whether he wants to leave or not, if he wants to go out after the year fine, go out while you can still be called "Great" unlike Emmit wasting his years in Arizona.
i guess its the reason that got me mad. i mean its lousy tv career that anybody with a name can go into. its like darnell autry when he retired after 4 seasons in the NFL only to wash out in the acting biz and never made it back to the NFl as the player he was supposed to be. i mean i also feel for his team mates..i mean to know that such an integral piece to your championship runs is leaving for an acting career? thats bull and i remember he was so into bringing the Giants a chip and now i feel like thats a lie.that maybe a little harsh but thats how i feel about this. ill give mega props to the talent agent who persuaded him to go this route. that guy deserves a nice shiny gold medal.

edit: just read the article on espn. well i guess he cant take the punishment no more. thats a good enough reason for me not to be mad anymore. its then a good reason. well looks like its time to slot in brandon jacobs later in the seaon as the starter.

People in Detroit HATED Barry for walking out on the Lions. He really gave them no notice. It was not the best way to end a career. People still love him here....but just not what they wanted. But yes, the Lions were horrible...they should've brought back Wayne Fontes just so Barry would stay ;)

It's Tiki Barber life and anyone who thinks he shouldn't quit is being selfish. Why put your body through hell when you don't have to? This is the same crap The Rock had to deal with. Ten years as a professional running back is damn good. Why end up like Terrell Davis? Napoleon McCallum? Charlie Garner? Michael Irvin? All those guys left due to injury and not on their own terms. Quality of life after football means something. No need to hobble around for the rest of your life if you don't have to.

Tiki is doing what's best for him.. I applaud that.. nothing is worse than see Earl Campbell or Mike Ditka walk and realize that could be you in 10yrs

Ahh Barry Sanders, should be the all time leading rusher, but due to his wanting to play for a winning team and the Lions pride, he never got a fair shot at it.
He wanted to show Dallas he still had it after he was dumped.
No he wanted to break the rushing record was why. I felt a lot better when that was Paytons record
Lions are still hurting from the departure of Wayne Fontes
I remember someone saying that Lions fans would one day wish they had those mediocre 8-8 and 9-7 teams that Fontes so often put together. I thought it was absurd at first, but since he left it is actually probably true.

OMG, Tampa Bay just beat Philly on one of the most amazing kicks I have ever seen! 62 frickin yards on the last play of the game! I jumped up off of the couch and shouted in glee! I still can't believe it! *faints*

I can't believe Bryant had that kind of leg in him. I was so disapointed after Philly came back and then just went crazy after he made the kick. I'm still trying to recover from it. The Bucs are back baby!
No he wanted to break the rushing record was why. I felt a lot better when that was Paytons record
He broke that with the Cowboys.

Also he was gone even before Parcells got there. I remember hearing all of 2002 that he would not be coming back.
Chiefs win? Nice.
fuck you, fuck the chiefs, fuck my chargers for playing like shit. fuck!

Where's the fucking penalty flag refs? They call that penalty on Freeney, but not when Manning has his fucking head nearly torn off? Bullshit.

Damn, Peyton's one tough hombre.

absolute goddamn A1 horseshit. fuck fuck fuck
fuck CBS for not showing the Broncos game here. They've got nothing else worthwhile on, so there's no excuse for not showing it.
I dunno whats up with CBS. They showed the Steelers and Falcons here instead of Houston/Jacksonville. CBS always shows Jags games here.
absolute goddamn A1 horseshit. fuck fuck fuck
*looks at user name*...yeah, that's about right. Oh wait, you missed another "fuck".
I dunno whats up with CBS. They showed the Steelers and Falcons here instead of Houston/Jacksonville. CBS always shows Jags games here.
Meanwhile I wanted to watch the Pats vs Bills game. Not that I missed anything with an 28-6 win anyways....

Now come on Vikes and beat the Seahawks. :D

EDIT: OMFG INTERCEPTION BY THE VIKES!!!!! VIKES FTW!!!!!
I dunno whats up with CBS. They showed the Steelers and Falcons here instead of Houston/Jacksonville. CBS always shows Jags games here.
I don't know. Maybe they figured that since most of the people around here might watch the Cards game on Fox, even then that's stretching it.

OH MY fuckING GOD!!!!

What was that.... 95... 96 yard TD run by Chestor Taylor.

The Vikes better not blow this game now. A 2 TD lead on Seattle's home turf... that is UNHEARD of.
Cards play the Raiders, they win by default.
I was thinking that was true, but they're losing 20-3 right now.

DAMNNNITITT

and the redskins are losing. this is horseshit
Nice job Vikes!!!!

Vikes 31 - Seahawks 13

7 minutes left.... unless teh Seahawks can pull a miracle then we can call this a Vikings win. :D
Yup. Good job against the second string offense.
Jeez Joey Harrington throws for 414 yards in a loss... wow
The lack of a running game, plus the three INTs he threw don't make that stat sound as impressive.
The lack of a running game, plus the three INTs he threw don't make that stat sound as impressive.
Oh, didn't see the INT's just saw the good statistics about 30 secs ago on Sportscenter... and you'd think even if he got 3 INT's he'd get more than 2 TD's

Can't believe:
A) Vick threw for 4TDs (glad that Crumpler got 3, he's my Fantasy TE)
B) Arizona lost to Oakland. There goes Green's job
C) I haven't seen that kick yet. I was watching West Ham not score for the seventh straight match. :(
This could be the point where San Diego falls out of contention for the AFC West title if the defense can't do well in Merriman's absence.
I was surprised that the article talked about all of the other injuries and off field problems to the Chargers defense, which I had no idea about. Looks like this could be the beginning of the same collapse that occured last year, and maybe the last of Marty ball.

I watched the Eagles/Bucs game with a group of friends. Right before the kick, someone remarked, "If they make this kick, they deserve to win this game." Awesome play, even though I'm an Eagles fan. :applause:

That kick was pretty freaking amazing, seemed like no one in the entire building paid attention to that til then.

Oh yeah, and to Jacksonville's defense, thanks for losing my fantasy game this week for me. I was counting on you guys at least limiting one of if not thee worst team in the league to at least less than 20 pts and less than 300 yds total offense, but no....
No he wanted to break the rushing record was why. I felt a lot better when that was Paytons record
He broke the rushing record while he was still with the Cowboys. Sorry, tray again. :D
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2635475

I always thought that he looked enormous, and then I remembered that he tested positive at the NFL combine, which is why he slipped to the Chargers in the first place.
Everyone's been saying how Merriman is so much better than Ware. But what they don't take into account is Dallas uses Ware to also cover receivers and not rush the quarterback every down like Merriman does.

On paper, it looks like Merriman is the better player, but Ware is definitely the more well-rounded football player. And after this revelation, everything Merriman has done so far is suspect.

thats true, it makes the 3-4 a very hard defense to figure it out since opposing teams have to figure out who's rushing, who's doing some delays blitzs, and who's coming back in coverage. In the NFL, i really love to watch 3-4 defenses more than the 4-3 base defense. Ware is a great talent and maybe a more rounded player than merriman. Merriman is more like a DE that is playing the 3-4 OLB position but he can definately pass rush better than Ware.
shawn merriman suspended 4 games for breaking the steroids policy.
:bomb:fuck:wall:

I just hope they can keep it together and finish their damn games. We already loss Foley, Olshansky, and Phillips on defense. Don't know if I can take another season of last second losses (2 already this season).
He broke the rushing record while he was still with the Cowboys. Sorry, tray again. :D
Yea my memory hazed up on that. Regardless he was well on the downslope when he broke it and I still wish Payton had it

A) wow vick threw for 4 tds? boy i missed alot thanks to work.
B) as i said it before here..the cards are equal to the raiders as the worst team in football..i think today they surpass that.
C) would that be West Ham United of the english premier league?if so atleast they didnt lose a derby match like the reds did to Man United. thats was one sorry ass game the Reds played. Matt Bryant's kick was amazing as i just saw on ESPN.
