Yeah, I'm in the mood for hockey after seeing the Kings/Stars game live last night. I can't promise how late I'll stay on, but I'd like to play.

Sorry to hear about that, me and my wife lost our first baby and we both took it pretty rough.
 
Seems to be a pretty common occurance. Sorry about that man. Have you gottem repregnant? How long did it take?

This was going to be our second. So at least we know it works.


Pens look pretty good huh? Sucks about Gonchar....again. I was at the game but didnt see what happened to him though.

Yeah we now have a two year old boy. And she got pregnant again about a month after they told us it was safe to.

I was at the game also and did not see what happened and I dont think they ever said anything about how it happened anyway. I am getting ready to go to tonights game againt the Panthers and might be on a little afterwords. In the next three days I am going to two Pens games a Pitt game and then the Steelers game on Sunday so my weekend to catch up on a little gaming might be rough.
 
Yeah we drove up last friday night. Saw our first steelers and pens home games. We took our 3 year old son and he had a blast! Great games. I was glad both teams won.

I had to see a game at Mellon before they take it down. The new arena looks cool though!

We wanted to stay for this steelers game. Its going to be a good one. We had to come back early to go back to the docs again. We got to Boo the browns so thats cool!

You don't have to try out. Just figure out which of the two teams you want to join, and either put in a join request or ask one of the GMs to invite you.

Yeah, there's no need to try out. I will say though, that despite the Sex Panthers having more players, their guys seem to be a little less interested in playing, and we ended up having to send a few of our guys over just so they'd have enough to play. So, if you're going to be available to play on Fridays, I'd recommend joining that team.

I went into the locker room a couple of times last night and it was empty so I just played versus for a couple of hours. Same thing happened the previous week.

Dammit...I'm sorry man. I saw you on, and was going to message you, but then I thought maybe you were playing a league game or something (I saw NHL teams listed for the game you were in). For the record, the only actual Sex Panther who was on was DestroVega (well, Sean was on, but wasn't playing NHL).

Last week we didn't have any CAG vs CAG games, but I believe DestroVega, Wpark83, and ShadyMarino played OTP for the Sex Panthers. I don't know if you've looked at the OP lately, but the rosters are up to date for both teams, so you'll know who to be looking for.

can i join one of the teams. I'm new but i'm half decent at versus anyway. the other thing is i'm from ireland so timing might be a bit weird. cheers anyway

Yeah...you're free to join either team. But our usual game time is Friday nights from 8 PM - 12 AM EST. People play at other random times, but that's the one time where we try to make an effort to organize games. Not sure how that works for you, but if you're still interested, read the OP, and post your info.

Thanks for the great feedback on the Title Update blog. I want to mention that we are aware of the freezing issues that people have been experiencing and we’ve addressed many of these issues in the TU. Several factors come into play when you experience a freeze whether it be the software itself or your hardware so if you experience freezing after the TU, please help us out by posting as much info as possible on the forums so we can look into it.

In closing, my last blog mentioned that we were targeting November 5th for the release of the Title Update on both platforms. We have been able to move that target date up and the TU should be made available this week for both Xbox 360 and PS3.

Will any of you be on at exactly 8 Eastern, or perhaps a little before? I am leaving for the ECHL game at 8:30 eastern, but I'd like to squeeze in 1 game with you guys before I leave, if possible.

On Friday? Yeah, I'll be on at exactly 8 PM EST.
 
I think you could get a group of 3-4 together on any given day without much trouble. Just set it up a day ahead of time, and if I'm available, I'll play.
 
I think I'm officially done for the year. I'm sick of my passes going sideways when I am pointing forward. Try to take a slap shot and ...nothing. Pucks magically sticking to sticks or going right through them when your on defense. Getting stuck in an animation and getting burned because of it. Hopefully Ea makes this more like actual hockey next year.

The passing you really have to get used to and play regularly enough to stay good at. This seems to be a trend with a lot of sports games lately (MLB 09, UFC 2009, etc). If you don't play almost every day, you're going to suck. It's almost like the games are TOO lifelike where they forget that it's still a video game. It makes these games really hard to play online if you're not constantly working on your skills.

The slap shot thing, yeah...I don't know if it's lag related or what, but sometimes pulling back just doesn't register, and you end up with a wrist shot. The biggest thing on defense is using the left bumper to block passes. You can try to intercept passes, but down in front of the net, you'll just be lucky if it bounces off your skates. Getting a leg down on the ice is far more effective.

I'd never tell anybody to keep a game they're not enjoying, but it just depends how much time you want to invest in it. Obviously, this time of year is always super crowded in terms of great games, so having games that require a lot of your time to even enjoy can be rough (the reason I gave up on MLB 09).
