Man... nobody could ever play late when I wanted to, and now that's the only time anyone can play. :whistle2:\ I guess there's always NHL 12.

It looks like statnut is the only one on right now (and he's watching Netflix). If anybody wants to play, just post in here and I'll probably be able to hop on. Otherwise, I'm just going to keep working. The more I do today, the less I have to do tomorrow.

Message me if more people get on and I'll ditch Netflix. Trying to write up as much as possible now so that there is less to write in 3 hours.

I ended up having to work later than scheduled tonight. Just now getting relaxed and hopping online. If anyone still wants to play just message me on live.
I took a nap. So yeah, I'm up now if anybody wants to get a few in.
I'll be on in about 10-15 minutes. Hope we can get some games in.

Should be done with work in about 45 minutes, and then I can jump in.

I'd give about a 3% chance that I'll be playing tonight. We've gotta get the rest of our packing done tonight so tomorrow can be spent getting things squared away. Gotta get utilities turned off/switched over, rip the post office a new one for delivering our mail today when today was the day they should've started forwarding it, and go by our rental agency to take care of some final paperwork. If I'm not up all night just getting the packing done I'll be amazed. Hopefully Brandon and Alan can play to help Gary get his legend card though. Good luck guys!
Yup, hoping Stat, Brandon or Alan can help me out with five more quick games! Good luck Nate! Hope everything works out good!
I'll be on tonight. Probably playing CoD with some friends, but message me when you guys are ready to play and I'll switch over.

I had to double check, but it turns out I am still on the team, and a GM. I had just posted saying I wanted to play tonight, so the only thing I can infer is that I'm not wanted as a teammate.

Matt, the reason I said hopefully Alan and Brandon can help Gary is because they both have their legend cards already. So they can turn the puck over constantly, not play defense, and give up 21 goals and it won't hurt them. It wasn't a personal attack on Matt Young. Chill out, man.

Just a question from your PS3 CAG NHL 11 brethren - how do you set up a lobby for a ranked game with friends? I can only get the lobby to start 'unranked'. We're in the same boat of having 3 players with 200+ games stuck at SuperStar, and it really bites you in the @ss when playing a team with legend card-carrying players. Thanks in advance for any help you could offer (we could use all the help we can get )

I believe it's
Xbox Live -> Lobby -> Some Button to create a lobby -> Ranked, Friends Only -> Another button to create the game itself -> Ranked, OTP Rules On.

Ah - it may be a fundamental 360/PS3 lobby difference. On the PS3 version, you select online team play from the online menu, and then have some preset lobby types to scroll through (play w/ friends, play unranked game, etc.). The 'play with friends' lobby locks the game as 'unranked'. Thanks for the response though - the legend cards are becoming our holy grail and i'm looking for any way to get there, since my game play obviously isn't getting it done

I never said it was a personal attack. It wasn't even an "attack" of any kind. I just feel like I'm left out of the loop half the time anyway, and then when I'd been posting about playing and multiple people responded right after saying, "Hey, everyone else but Matt, let's play!", there was no possible way to read anything else into it other than what I did based on reading the thread and not actually getting to talk to anybody.

My thing is just that people tell me I need to play more, which is fine (and correct). I also understand that, for the first 2 months of the season, I had a busier schedule than most of the regulars. Now, that seems to be reversed, with you moving and Alan and Brandon working long shifts at the Coors bottling plant, or whatever people in Colorado do.

Before last night, I had been on for several consecutive CAG hockey nights, but the last two I got on for resulted in (1) no one showing up at all, and then (2) everyone saying we were going to wait till 10 (an hour and a half later), and then I got back on then and everyone had signed off. Then everyone got back on and played later after I had signed off. I'm just not sure how I'm supposed to get better without playing with the team. I had stated my intention to play drop-in games, but the whole purpose of that would be to get better and gain XP for use with the CAG team.

Well, I am now moved and somewhat settled in. I haven't tried playing anything on Xbox Live yet to see how the connection is here, but I'll probably do that later tonight.

As for Matt's comments, Matt, it just kinda seemed like you were suggesting that there was some conspiracy to avoid you (ie. "the only thing I can infer is that I'm not wanted as a teammate"). Sometimes shit just happens and that's the way it is. We all have stuff going on. If we wanted to be over-dramatic about it, we could say "Wow, I guess Matt really doesn't want to play with us since he goes out a lot on Friday nights." But that line of thinking is dumb, childish, and unnecessary. You play when you can...and so does everybody else. No need to make anything more out of it.

I can see why people might think that, but that's not how I was thinking- no conspiracy, certainly. I said you guys were always playing when I wasn't, and that was an unfortunate coincidence. What I said about not being wanted as a teammate was in response to what I thought at the time was my post being ignored when I said I wanted to play.

All right. Played one game, won 31 out of 34 faceoffs, and scored 2 goals to give my team a 2-1 win. Not sure how it will be when more people are using the connection, but so far so good. :)

I can play now if anyone is around. I know Brandon has NHL in, and Matt is on but playing a Madden league game. I don't know how long I'll be on, but maybe we can get a few in.

Yeah, it was nice to be able to play again so soon. I thought maybe Matt would switch over to NHL after his Madden game. So Brandon and I just played some online shootouts while we were waiting for him to finish. Then, Gary got on, and I went to send Matt a message, but he had signed off. Not sure what's going to be made of this, but we weren't excluding you, Matt. But this is basically what happens. Sometimes we just play...and sometimes you don't join us.

At least we were able to get Gary his legend card and even win a couple club games. One game we were losing 4-2 with 10 seconds left in the game, when the other team dropped and we got the win, haha. That was pretty awesome. Oh, and here's a touching moment with me helping Gary celebrate getting his legend card.

Ah, ha ha ha. What an awesome picture! Good to see almost all of us have the legend card. Sorry I bailed on you guys. I went to go check my sites and sorta started watching the American Dad Christmas Special. So yeah, lol. But, was hoping you guys heard me at least.

I swear, I take the worst Videos. But here is my self, Herp Derping the last few seconds and then getting forcefully raped by Nate. http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/55411173
Gary, I think you were the one talking about this. DC Universe online beta codes are now online, got mine from gamespot.
Yeah Brandon, I actually sent a message to Stat that there was a thread up here for the free Beta codes for PC and PS3. If I knew you were interested I would have sent ya the thread. Now if only we could get the stupid Knights Of the Old Republic Beta!

I've been in the DCU beta for awhile, let me know your guys names on there. I'm on the PC version. Just get ready for the 15 GB initial download.

I should have picked up a key for the PC, but I got a code for the PS3. Hopefully it allows PC to PS3 server play. Guess we'll see when I get my PS3 for my birthday.

^it doesn't, no cross-platforming. That's according to the gamespot forums.. I picked up a PS3 beta code. thanks for the heads up

Sorry about the last game guys. For some reason, I got kicked off the EA server than the Cable Modem decided to take a shit. So yeah, my bad.

Wow, I guess Matt only got in on 2 official games last night. It seemed like more than that, but I guess that one game that dropped in the 3rd period that didn't count...and then the team that quit on us twice in the first 2 minutes made it feel like more.

I don't know if you completely got what we were saying last night, Matt, but we just didn't really see the sense in boosting for your next card when you were still 18 games away (now 16) from the minimum anyway. Once you get within 5-10 games, yeah, we'll go all out for you and make sure you get A+'s all around. But boosting for 18 games is just kinda unnecessary...especially when you only have to move your overall from a B- to a B. It's not even unreasonable to think you could get there without boosting.

Also, it looks like statnut is at 130 games, so he's got 20 more for legend...and he's already at an A- overall. It might be tough to hold that there playing club games, but it would be great to boost him and Matt at the same time if they're on at the same time and within 5 games or something. Really, people just need to play drop-in games to play as many games as quickly as possible. Then we can worry about getting your grade up.

I don't think Matt has played any drop-ins, so it's kinda hard to be too worried about what card you have when the only time you play the game is with the CAG team. The game has been out for three months, and you're half way to 150. If you even want to entertain the idea of getting your legend card before March, you probably need to take a day and just play NHL all day...or even try what Sean suggested and join drop-ins, play a minute or two, and then quit. It might not count every game, but it should be quicker than playing through another 75 games. Just something to think about.

Oh, also...I think we should just make the official time on Tuesdays 10 PM EST. Really nobody plays before that. I was on for almost two hours before another person showed up (which was Gary at 9:45). More people seem to be able to do earlier on Fridays, so leaving that at 8 PM EST should be fine. But during the week it seems like most don't get off work, or have time to play until later at night anyway.

I probably won't be able to play past 11 P.M. Eastern on any night. I wake up at 4-4:30 A.M. As for the boosting, I only brought it up since Gary kept asking if I wanted to boost when I was messaging him. It sucks that we played about 4-5 games and only 2 counted. I was very happy with my play, at least, and my give/take was hugely improved in that small sample size. I would have played longer, but I was just too tired. Everyone's on really late these days, and it's usually the other way around for this kind of thing in general considering where I am located.
How do you boost a guy's grades for something like team play?
Depends on your player type. For physical positions like 2-way forward, power forward, defensemen, etc. lots of hits and few turnovers will help your teamplay. For a center, you have to win a good amount of faceoffs or it will hurt your teamplay.

When we actually try to boost in private games, it's ridiculously easy because we'll have people with their legend cards on one team, playing goalie and D and we'll just act stupid, turning the puck over, scoring on our own net, running into hip checks, etc. Players on the team being boosted usually get all A's without really even trying. If you play right, you shouldn't have a whole lot of trouble getting all the way up to your superstar card by playing drop-in games. But making that last jump from B to A- is tough without a little help.
