MicroSofts conference was horrible. Scorpio is only doing Video and Blu-Ray 4k and no mention of games but it will be VR ready and a cost of...$600 to $800. Also, Xbox Play is ONLY for Microsoft created games and no third party has said they would be on board at all. It is also tied to your gamer tag and it doesn't give out a code like Quantum Break did. Very lackluster honestly from MicroSoft.
On the Plus Side, PSV4 comes out October and guess what, STILL uses the original PS4. So yeah, I'll pick that up and Alan, the RE7 demo is up on the PS Store.
"Horrible" seems like hyperbole. Looking at the conferences side by side, I thought they were both pretty strong. Microsoft talked about a lot of games. They just covered a lot in general. If we're talking exclusives, MS announced 10 exclusives and Sony announced 9 exclusives (not counting timed exclusives or different versions of games...VR, mobile friendly, or otherwise).

As for Play Anywhere...it's not limited to just MIcrosoft made games. We Happy Few is on the list, and it's not a Microsoft game. This article talks about more third party games coming (
http://lifehacker.com/microsofts-new-xbox-play-anywhere-lets-you-buy-games-on-1781893474). I'm sure third parties don't HAVE to participate in it. But what you're saying is a bit off. And at the very least, it brings games like Halo, Gears, etc. back to PC...and creates a much larger pool of players. That is pretty solid.
Also, I don't know where you saw that Scorpio will only do 4K video/blu-ray. I saw a CNET article that mentions that...but in reference to the S. The S will do 4K video/blu-ray.

The Scorpio is going to be 4.5 times more powerful than the current Xbox One. Microsoft went out of its way to give specs...which is almost unheard of. For comparison, the current Xbox One has a 1.31 teraflop GPU, the current PS4 has a 1.84 teraflop GPU. The Scorpio will have a 6 teraflop GPU. It's going to be very powerful.
