Ahahaha...Carrie Underwood confirms exactly what I said about Mike Fisher's recent fight when he knocked out Kevin Bieksa's tooth.

Lol, as soon as he asked if she worried about him fighting, she had the biggest "Bitch, please," face.

Also, after reading this sentence, you will also become annoyed at how she is wearing her seatbelt.

Only a little gameplay at the very end of the video.
Wow...that is freaking amazing! I wonder how drumming will translate. I'm guessing you'll have to match up where the virtual drums are with your real drums, and then hitting them will just feel natural. It's going to be crazy to see how they pull it off though.

It's a really interesting feeling how that works in other games. Like if you align your body with the virtual character's body, things kind of just click into place and your brain goes "Ok, that's my arm. Got it."

So...this douchebag in HUT...

Rinne

Roy

Bergeron

R. Bourque

Kesler

Kronwall

Kurri

Nash

Neely

Ryan

Seguin

Suter

Weber

Does nothing but cross crease the entire game...ends up getting 3 when my backdoor AI d-man just inexplicably abandons the passing lane. I stopped more chances than he scored on, but it's one of those "do it enough times..." things. He ended up winning 3-2. At least I scored twice on Rinne, I guess.

Here are his "amazing goals"

https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=013178F5A1494C09&id=13178F5A1494C09%211280&group=0&parId=13178F5A1494C09%21926&o=OneUp

Goal 1: I tried to clear, it gets blocked (and checked at the same time)..and 88 OVR with 89 DEF John Carlson who was playing the passing lane perfectly, charges the puck carrier and gives up an easy freaking pass.

Goal 2: Tried to race to a puck dumped behind the net, didn't realize the other d was just going to crash down there with me, and got caught out of position. It SEEMED like Krejci was going to cover for me based on where he was, but then he decides to abandon the post and follow the other skater in the slot as though he's playing man to man.

Goal 3. Kind of pissed off and too aggressive at this point, but it still doesn't explain anything that, again, John Carlson does on this play. I seriously think he's just spacing out. But you know...the AI reads and reacts to plays and all that.

Got bored and started doing collections in HUT last night. Completed both All Star collections, and then Florida and Carolina (my God Carolina is a horrible team, lol...their best player is worth 6,000 coins). But holy cfap, one of Carolina's away jerseys is super rare.

5_6.jpg

There were 0 of it available when I first looked. Then, miraculously, like 30 minutes later, somebody put 2 of them for sale at 950 coins. I bought both and immediately relisted one with a Buy Now of 4000. And yeah, it sold, lol. I still have the other one if anyone needs it.

Alan, do you still have Suter and Parise available to borrow to complete Minnesota?

And if anybody needs a site with helping track the collections, this one is pretty awesome.

on one hand, cool. On the other... Basketball (based characters)...

But yeah, if you want to put some kind of card up for a weird price and let me know your team name, I'll put thru a trade offer.

I've noticed that with collections, the thing that has the most markup is jerseys, and sometimes, the non-rare players. Toronto Jersey prices are stupidly high, and New Jersey nn Rares are too. Clowe from NJ usually sells in the thousands for whatever reason.

Ok, I'll do that now. I've got the rest of the collection done, so I can send them back to you right away.

And I think the thing about "non-valuable" cards is just that if there are not a lot of them (20 or less), you really could make them valuable by hoarding them yourself. I mean, it would have to be a non-Patrick Sharp situation where they don't come up in packs incredibly often. But if you discovered one card that people wouldn't really think would be hard to find and then bought all of them...people would pay almost whatever you ask just so they can complete the collection.

I think that's what's happening with that Hurricanes jersey. When I looked earlier today, there were 2 for sale. One was listed BN at 3000 and the other at like 7250. Any card that you can manipulate the supply of (even if you were holding 20 of them), you could do crazy shit with, haha.

Ok, Alan. I have 2 auctions up for +3 High goalie boosts. Their starting bid is 80085 with a buy now of 8008135 (can you tell I'm enjoying being able to type in amounts this year? lol)

Team name is Nashboogie.

This game is hilarious. I just played another super spam stick raper...who from the opening puck drop was going crazy on the A button. He got 3 penalties in the first 5 minutes of the game (I know...I was amazed). And I scored to go up 1-0. After that...he didn't get called for anything the rest of the game. Now, I'm sure you're thinking "Well, he must have changed his style. Surely the game wouldn't just stop calling him for penalties..."

Ha...it was ridiculous. So many times in my zone where I'd take the puck by being in position and squaring up to him. But before I could even spin away to protect myself, the guy is hammering away on the A button and instantly takes it back. Then he points out how much he's outplaying me with time on attack, shots, etc. Well, no shit...when your "defense" is just to have the most aggressive forecheck ever and unrepentantly pound the A button, what can I do?

Those first 5 minutes though...it was a glimpse into how the game should be. Every time one of his penalties was ending, he got called for another. Variety too: hooking, slashing, and high stick. *sigh* A girl can dream.

So many digs at Payday in the user reviews lol
Haha, yeah. People really took the heavy satirical tone of the game and went wild with it. Some of the threads in the forum are pretty great too. But make sure you play the game before looking at them because there are a lot of spoilers.

In HUT related news, I've now completed the following collections:

Green All Stars, Black All Stars, Florida, Carolina, Minnesota, Calgary, and New Jersey

So that totals up to 38 reward packs. The 3 best cards I've pulled from those packs has been Tyler Johnson (who I won't use because he sucks at faceoffs), Daniel Sedin, and Ryan McDonagh (just got now from completing New Jersey).

So, that's 3 out of 304 possible cards that are 87 OVR or higher. 1%, lol. At least the collections have a bit of a snowball effect. That's really the only saving grace. I'm sure I'll hit a wall once all I have left are the teams with insanely expensive players though. I guess then I'll just be grinding by flipping cards.

Just completed Vancouver's collection...and in my 7 reward packs...I didn't get one player rated above an 83 and almost every pack had 2 coaches and 3-4 cards total that were "already owned". Vancouver: Always Shit...Always.

I'll have to post my non tradeable cards thus far. I'm thinking that those are pretty good pulls in so few of packs compared to what I've got.

So here's my best pulls from non-tradeables so far...

Krejci 86
Seabrook 86
Spezza 86
Nyquist 86
Jagr 86
Josi 88 (this was a returning user pack)
Schneider 88
Miller 87

Those are the best through 128 collection packs and 10 returning user packs. So not counting Josi and the 10 returning packs... 7 of 1024 cards have been 86+ or .6%.

So, I just completed Boston's collection, and I'm testing out a few of their guys to see if I have any desire to hang onto them or rebuy them down the line. I'm just not seeing a huge boost with Bergeron. He's a 95 in faceoffs...but I still lose plenty with him. I don't notice him winning tremendously more than Thornton or even Stastny. And he costs 60,000 pucks. Sure, Thornton is slower...but he's a better shooter and passer, and he can freaking wreck people.

And good God, Tuukka Rask sucks! First game (in which I normally feel like goalies get a first game boost...almost all of my other goalies got shutouts in their debut), he gives up 6 goals on 33 shots. Two of them were just slow little dribblers that he couldn't cover before they were knocked in. And of course, he was bested on the other side by Eddie Lack...who stopped all 20 shots he faced (Rask was giving up a ton of rebounds, hence the difference in shots). So, Rask's ass is up for auction. That Shrek looking motherfucker is gone! lol

Eddie Lack - 85 OVR - 84 high, 85 low, 86 quickness, 86 positioning, 86 rebound control

Tuuka Rask - 89 OVR - 88 high, 89 low, 90 quickness, 90 positioning, 90 rebound control

Just what in the fuck game? Size doesn't matter...stats don't matter. Just spamming stick check and shooting from "the spot". EA made sure that mattered.

EDIT - Next game...Frederick Andersen...22 save shutout, lol. Makes sense. Who needs attributes and skills? Andersen is tall and weighs more = he takes up more of the net = better. He also costs 1/8 of what Rask costs. EA Sperts.

Are you paying attention the the Rock/Paper/Scissors aspect of faceoffs? Bergeron has been a beast for me on the dots *shrug*

Should have kept TJ now!! Lol
Ha, I've still got him. I can't trade him since he was in a collection pack. He's still a 78 at faceoffs though. I used a position change card on him and moved him to wing though.

Are you paying attention the the Rock/Paper/Scissors aspect of faceoffs? Bergeron has been a beast for me on the dots *shrug*
I mean, I feel like I generally do. If a guy is using the same grip, I'll do the tie up, or switch my grip if there's time. When I say he "wasn't great", in the one game I actually checked the stats at the end I won like 7 out of 10 with him. Joe Thornton (line 2) won 7 out of 7 though. And Paul Stastny (line 3) won 4 out of 5. Bergeron was matched up against Duchene...so I guess I it was surprising me to see him losing.

There are SO many things that factor into faceoffs though. From my experiences with it over the years in EASHL and otherwise, this all weighs in (assuming your opponent doesn't suck at faceoffs, of course...if they suck, you can usually do whatever the hell you want):

1. If your opponent chooses his grip before you do, you'll probably lose.

2. If you let go of the right stick to change your grip, you'll probably lose.

3. If while rotating the right stick to change your grip, you lunge forward (like the tie up move), you'll probably lose.

4. If the connection is not great and there is input lag, you'll probably lose.

He also had 0 points in 6 games. I don't know, maybe I'll give him another shot down the road. I wanted to complete San Jose's collection after Boston, so I needed to pick up Pavelski anyway. I'm trying out both him and Brent Burns right now. I'll probably hang onto Burns since that's just an overall upgrade to my defense. I've gotten to the point where I hate tying up any amount of coins while I'm doing these collections though, haha.

I also made a list of a rough coin estimate for what it would take to complete some of the collections. I'm grinding through it now. I'll share it in case anybody else wants to take a shot at completing some of these:

Obviously, the amounts vary and could be different depending on if you have any of these players on your team already.

Team: Total Cost (Players >4K)

Florida: 16K (Luongo 7K)

Carolina: 17K (Faulk 7K)

New Jersey: 23K (Schneider 15K)

Toronto: 34K (Van Riemsdyk 26K

Buffalo: 36K (E. Kane 28K)

Vancouver: 44K (D. Sedin 16K, H. Sedin 14K, Miller 5K)

Arizona: 52K (Ekman-Larsson 44K)

Calgary: 63K (Giordano 18K, Monahan 17K, Hudler 8K, Brodie 6K, Hamilton 5K)

Winnipeg: 65K (Bfyuglien 23K, Wheeler 14K, Myers 7K)

Columbus: 71K  (Johansen 35K, Bobrovsky 22K, Saad 6K)

Edmonton: 93K (Hall 85K)

Boston: 122K (Bergeron 60K, Rask 40K, Krejci 8K, Chara 6K

San Jose: 134K (Pavelski 41K, Thornton 27K, Burns 27K, Couture 20K, Marleau 11K)

Philadelphia: 152K (Giroux 70K, Voracek 60K, Simmonds 14K)

Minnesota: 171K (Suter 90K, Parise 58K, Dubnyk 6K, Koivu 5K, Pominville 4K)

Colorado: 196K (Duchene 110K, Landeskog 35K, MacKinnon 27K, Varlamov 10K, Barrie 6K)

Nashville: 206K (Weber 97K, Rinne 45K, Josi 40K, Neal 16K)

NY Islanders: 210K (Tavares 183K, Okposso 17K)

Ottawa: 247K (Karlsson 210K, Ryan 22K, Turris 5K)

NY Rangers: 272K (Lundqvist 130K, Nash 60K, McDonagh 40K, Kreider 20K, Stepan 7K, Yandle 6K)

St. Louis:  285K (Tarasenko 185K, Pietrangelo 40K, Backes 30K, Shattenkirk 20K)

Anaheim: 293K (Getzlaf 170K, Perry 80K, Kesler 25K, Fowler 5K, Andersen 5K)

Detroit: 346K (Datsyuk 215K, Zetterberg 70K, Nyquist 28K, Kronwall 25K)

And that's as far as I've gotten, haha.

But this list should show how it's almost like you're leveling up as you go. As long as you keep buying low and selling high, and flipping the players, it is possible to complete collections and make profit at the same time.

EDIT - I might add to this list as I go. This isn't a bad guide for flipping players either, haha.

And to add to your list, the tracker on HUTHQ is good to mark down prices you bought players for, and also will show you what you need to sell them for, to break even.

Also, Womens professional hockey. Holy shit.

Wanted to go back and look at my "CANNOT TRADE" guys. I've gotten:

McDonagh 88

Carlson 88 (got him in one of my returning player packs)

Neal 87

D. Sedin 87

Tyler Johnson 87

Oshie 86

Sharp 86 (actually got him and Neal in the same pack...makes sense. I already had both of them, so this was basically like getting a 23K coin bonus card, haha)

Fowler 86

Those rival the Goat Simulator patch notes, haha. It's weird...I know they're trolling me, but I still feel compelled to load up the game again and see what's different. It's very confusing.

HUT Happy Hour is on this weekend. I'm guessing player prices will skyrocket.

I grabbed Giroux and Voracek while their prices were still fairly normal. Trying to get that damn Flyers collection done. If my other asshole players would sell I'd have enough coins to grab Simmonds and the rest, haha.

I gotta say, I really like Giroux so far. He's a slippery bastard. His speed is only 88, but his movement is crazy once you get him in open ice. I had a couple plays where he just split the defense and outskated everybody. He's definitely a beast.

Ok...so HUT auction house just dicked me over. I finally got a chance to grab Taylor Hall and complete Edmonton's collection. Upon relisting all of the players, I noticed that a few of them sold almost immediately. Hall sold for 93,999...and yet I only had 92,670 coins. That was including selling Eberle and 5 other Edmonton cards in addition to Hall.

I remember the exact amount of coins I had after completing the collection...because it used practically everything I had. So, in total, I lost 4,875 coins. This game just keeps getting better and better...

I'm sure you did, but you accounted for the 5% EA tax right?

I've also had this happen before, exiting and coming back in resulted in the missing coins showing up.

You know, I think that's it. I don't know why but I've never noticed it before (I feel like I even forgot it was in this game...I thought only Madden did it for some reason). I mean, Hall is the most expensive player I've ever sold, so it would be the highest for him...but I just sold Voracek last night (62K) and I swear it felt like I got the full amount.

That must be it though. Who knows. I'm tired. It is great that EA charges tax as though they have to build roads or something. Makes sense.

So, I might have figured out the key to HUT...at least in terms of team strategies. I'm still in Division 3, and it just feels like people are so freaking aggressive at this point. Their idea of "defense" is just the most ridiculous forecheck ever and spamming the A button. I've seriously had plays where we've taken the puck back and forth from each other like 6-7 times just standing in place. Just incredibly moronic shit.

But then, when they start to attack, my AI won't pressure them or do anything. These douches can glide around holding the puck to the side, and if I'm not actively chasing them, the AI just lets them go wherever the hell they want...even right through the damn slot with my strategies set to "collapsing" and "defend net".

So, I started thinking about it...and since cherry picking is rarely a thing in HUT, I wanted to see what would happen if I just cranked everything up. 1-2-2 aggressive, 1-2-2 blue (and I think this is the difference maker), Full Attack, Full Forecheck, Leave Zone Early, etc. Just as spastically aggressive as you can be... And now I've won two straight games against people with legends on their team.

This has to be how all the high ranked guys play...because even though you "could get caught up the ice", the early pressure it puts on before they even get to center ice is insane. All those knocked down passes, all the stick rape. They just have everything jacked up to 11 at all times and trust their "skill" to make up for the rest.

Third game...I ran into this team:

Bourque

Bure

Doughty

Gaborik

Gaudreau

Keith

Lecavalier (throwback card, I'm sure)

Lidstrom

Lindros

Malkin

Modano

Nash

Neal

S. Niedermayer

Stamkos

Tarasenko

Thornton

Weber

Price

M. Jones

That's probably the most stacked team I've ever seen...and I beat him 1-0, lol. Dude only ended up with 15 shots because my guys were playing monstrous. They were on the boards when they should be. They were playing the body when they should be. They were picking off passes. I had Rinne in net, but it was the difference between the goalie being there for support as opposed to needing to stand on his head.

I am now convinced. Tell the AI to be as aggressive as fuck, and they play decent.

Any chance I can talk you guys into hating me and playing tonight? Going away Friday and won't be on until after the New Year.
