I actually want to try out these aggressive settings in EASHL. I know the tuners (and probably even the AI ability) is different than in HUT...but the results I'm getting are crazy. I started out 0-4-1 in Division 3...then tried these settings and rattled off 4 straight wins to at least keep myself in the division.

Now, I just won my first game today, outshooting the guy 37-11. He also got called for 6 penalties. It feels like the game just clicked all of a sudden and is playing properly. It's like what teams always do to us...their AI plays amazing and we get called for all the penalties. Not sure if it'll translate to team play since cherry picking is more of a thing. But the AI plays so much better overall, it might be worth a shot.

So, for our test with the new strategy settings, we played 5 games...with me, Brandon, and Rob all playing forward...and just seeing how the AI defensemen would do. We went 5-0, outscoring our opponents 12-4. We won the Division 3 title. And we're now 7 points away from Division 1...

Hey, Brandon, I was able to snag a Duchene last night, so if you want to help each other out finishing off Colorado, I'd be down for it.

I decided to hang onto Weber and Rinne after finishing Nashville, since there's really only a few more collections I could realistically complete anyway...so my coin supply is a bit depleted. Not sure how many more you need, but you at least don't need to worry about Duchene, and just focus on the others.

 
One other "conspiracy theory" I have for HUT...has anyone ever gotten the feeling that there's a HUT bot that buys cards? There's a couple reasons I say that. For one...I'll have cards that sell for quite a bit more than they should sometimes. Like a card that normally sells for 5K selling for 7K. Now, it's possible that's just stupid people who don't know what the going rate is.

But the other thing I've noticed is the market is very much cleared out right now. Most cards now have less than 20 players available...even the cheaper ones. Several of them even have less than 10. There was just a Happy Hour, so I guess you could say people have more coins than normal, but I'd be surprised to see it affect things that much...like people who don't normally buy cards bought them and then all those cards of all those players were just held onto.

It would make more sense for EA to "flush" the market every once in awhile so these players don't just become more and more saturated to the point where the values stay incredibly low. That's at least my theory anyway. Seriously, there are only 6 Dubnyk's and 12 Pominville's on the auction house right now. Where did all the cards go?

 
It's also interesting seeing people trying to corner the market on one particular player. I just saw a guy who had 5 Justin Faulk's for auction. There are currently 16 of him available...not sure if this guy owns all of them. But I have noticed Faulk's value go up 3-4K in the past week or two.

For the Market, it's probably because there haven't been many player packs lately. For movember, there were lots of pack specials, so that probably caused a surplus of players, also causing prices to go down, which also would explain why you're seeing some players sell for more than they usually do. Next time they release player-only special packs, the market will probably go down again.

Those would definitely help (both me and Brandon, I think).

And that's definitely possible about the player packs. It's just surprising to see the numbers go down so universally. I mean, there are even less than 100 Patrick Sharps now. Something is not right, lol.

Best prices ever! Just offered up a +3 high goalie boost for each. Hope you don't need them back immediately. We can get them and Duchene loaned to Brandon too (I can't remember if it was Varlamov or MacKinnon he pulled the other night).

I assume you already finished Colorado's collection, right?

 
Yeah, take your time, neither are in my active lineup right now. Already did the collection as well. I could have threw in Duchene too if I knew you were doing that collection.

Ok, cool. It's fine about Duchene. I actually didn't plan on picking him up. I figured I'd take a break from collections after I decided to keep Weber and Rinne. But then while looking for cards to flip last night, I saw that somebody had a Duchene listed with a Buy Now of 120K, but a starting bid of 100K. He's been going regularly for 110-115K, and the 100K auction only had one bid.

I played another game, and when I was done, i had like 100,565 coins...and the auction had 10 minutes left and still just the one bid. I was like "What are the odds that the person isn't watching and nobody else will bid?" So, I threw a 100,050 bid on with 15 seconds left...and ended up winning, lol. So, he'll turn a pretty decent profit for me anyway. :)

You guys are welcome to any Colorado cards I have. Dont know what they are but you can borrow them or any cards to complete a collection if you need to.

Appreciate the gesture, Rob. But the low-rated guys are easy enough to just grab for cheap and resell when the collection is done. Brandon and I actually got it done tonight. So, that's one more collection down.

I immediately sold Duchene afterward for 113,000. So, after EA's tax, I made like 7,000 coins off him alone. Alan, I put Landeskog and Varlamov back up for the maximum of 10,000,000. Feel free to offer me back my shitty goalie boosts whenever you want.

MVP hopped on while we were finishing up the collection. So, we ventured into EASHL...and again, we all played forward. From our work with Rob the other night, we were 3-0 in Division 2. Tonight, we played 5 more games...and went 4-0-1. Our OT loss was to the 164th ranked team.

For anyone doing the math...that finished us with a record of 7-0-1 in Division 2...which won the title and advanced us to Division 1 with 2 games to spare, haha. Sooo...hockey night on Friday will be interesting. :lol:

Yeah, definitley dont accept those. I somehow totally forgot honestly. Lets do the trade during hockey night so someone doesnt get a free set of cards.

Haha, don't worry. I didn't accept them. I was like "These are not my +3 high goalie boosts... Either Alan accidentally discarded them or somebody is trying to be cute." I wish I could do a counter offer and tell them I'll accept the bronze contract cards and only 9 million coins, lol. :lol:

Oh, yeah. lol...that's like the opposite of what I do though. I offer shitty cards to people who try to make Mike Weber look like Shea Weber...or Jordie Benn look like Jamie Benn. This was somebody trying to steal actual good cards by tricking me. I'm just glad I didn't fall for it.

 
Just beat a team of: Benn, Carter, Keith, Kessel, Landeskog, MacKinnon, Seguin, Stamkos, Subban, Toews, and Voracek.

This is what the stats looked like:

Score: 3 - 1

Shots: 24 - 25

TOA: 3:57 - 10:15

Passing %: 59% - 37%

Can anybody guess what he was doing the entire game? lol. Circle, circle, circle, circle, circle. Just trying to get to the high slot. Who needs puck movement when you can just outskate everybody? His only goal was in the first 5 minutes when he pulled that shit with Toews. Then I locked it down and just watched the figure skating show.

It's mind numbing that the "elite" of this game only know stick lifting and dangling. They don't use any other hockey components in their game. And the sad part is, if you don't defend it like a fiend, it will work. So satisfying throwing it in their face though.

 
And since that game, I've just been royally buttfucked. I got booted all the way back down to Division 4. I don't know what is going on. My AI is just skating past loose pucks and can't take the puck away from anybody. And I've played something like 4 straight games without having a powerplay. On top of that, I've been the home team at least 8 games in a row.

Everything about this game feels rigged right now. It's even ridiculous how it says "randomizing home/away" before the matchup screen...and yet, every single time, I'm the home team...and my game feels sluggish while my opponents are dipping and ducking around my guys like it's nothing and raping the puck back at will.

Kind of glad I'll get a self imposed one week break when I go out of town on Wednesday. This game is just full retard right now.

 
So, I ventured into HUT online. Apparently my Jordan Stall is untouchable. I can skate with him and nobody pushes him off the puck at all. I have had Hedman try to hit him and he just brushes off of him. I did make it to Division 9 and won the Division 10 title. After that, I realized I have won HUT and just quit.

So, we have like 4 games and need 2 points. Anybody up for it before Nate leaves?
 
Honestly, the best thing to do when you go on a losing streak is to just stop and come back another day. Sometimes, yeah, it feels like the game is there to just shit on you, so you end up noticing the minor thigns more, and they just keep adding up.

No go for me tonight, but I can play tomm night.

Oh, and Brandon, I've got Karlsson now. So, you know you want to get on so you can finally get rid of all those Ottawa Shitters. ;)
