Official NHL Not 15 (14) Discussion/CAG Team Thread - Headsets On Pants Off! New Team!

It took a few days for the thought to cross my mind, but with the Ontario Reign switching from the ECHL to the AHL this fall, I can play as them in NHL 16!

You guys (except Alan). NBA Jam is less than five bucks until the end of the day. Gary and I used to play the first one that came out and it was pretty fun.

I've had NBA Jam for a few years now. And it looks like Brandon has it too. So, that's everybody BUT Alan, lol :)

Yeah...that's the one. I don't know...only 4 player, I guess. Not to mention, there haven't been a whole lot of times where you and Gary are on and Alan isn't. And we're so good at NHL...with all of our banner and cup winning.

10 unsolicited reasons why NBA Jam is better than real basketball (typed on my phone, so excuse the auto correct)

10. There's no fouls, other than goaltending. Most fouls in basketball are dumb anyways.

9.2v2; no boring zone d

8. People can be lit on fire and they actually play better

7. Big heads

6. Way more alley-oop's

5. Games don't last longer than 2 hours

4. It's like watching the Harlem Globetrotters.

3. It inspired games like Blitz and Hitz.

2. Never not full court press

1. Coined the phrase "From dooooooooown toooooooowwwnnnnnn"

Bonus reason: Cheat codes

I knew nothing about IDARB. It looks interesting...but it's a good thing it's on GWG because it doesn't look remotely worth the $14.99 price tag. I barely turn my One on though...so that's probably part of the problem, haha. I haven't even played NHL 15 since before Christmas.

Most such I've seen about that game had been positive. But then again most of it was written/discussed after local multi-player, not online.

Giant Bomb seems to like it, and my tastes are very similar to theirs (Mount your friends for example), so I'm pretty confident that it would be fun.

Yeah I dunno. The game turned me off from the first mission. Go set these traps. Now go set those traps that are back the way you came.

This. I've heard of people who didn't like Dead Island actually liking Dying Light more because of this. Of course, I got it on Steam because it has Rift support. Zombie parkour in VR. Ridiculous. :)
I'm really enjoying it too. For me the big thing that sets it apart from Dead Island is that it feels like what the Zombie genre (at least in regards to movies) has always focused on... It makes standing and fighting large groups of zombies an absolute last resort, and ill-advised. I felt like in Dead Island it didn't matter how many or what types you were going at, you could just go toe to toe with little damage. Add in the weapons only having a few repairs, weapon mods (durability/damage/handling mods) being somewhat scarce, and the various different types of zombies, and I think it's a good step in the right direction for the genre.

On a side note... There is nothing more disheartening than using 5-10 lockpicks on a "Very hard" lock to the back of a police van thinking there's going to be a gun, to find a measly bag of coffee.

I bought those games for cheaper last year. Some of them free and some only a $1. So screw that $12 bubdle.

I don't know about using 5 lock picks for a very hard. MAYBE 3 on a bad day. All you have to do is find the spot it rumbles the least and work from there slowly without turning the knife all the way.

Want to say last year or so. Steam haD a few sales where it was KOTOR 1 & 2 for $1. Jedi Knight 2 series was $3. BF2 was $2, Dark Forces was a $1. I actually think it was May 4th as steam celebrated it.

Ok, now you're making me feel like a putz, lol. I'm going to see what ITAD.com says.

EDIT

Ok, according to them, the cheapest these games have been on Steam is...

KOTOR - $2.49 (1/2/13...it was $3.39 on 5/4/14 though)

Jedi Academy - $3.39 (5/4/14...it was $3.29 from Gamefly at the same time)

Dark Forces - $1.69 (5/4/14...$1.59 from Gamefly)

Battlefront II - $2.99 (12/12/14...$3.39 on 5/4/14)

KOTOR II - $2.49 (1/2/13...$3.39 on 5/4/14)

Republic Commando - $3.39 (5/4/14)

Empire at War: Gold Pack - $11.99 (8/2/12...it was the same price on GOG last week though)

Force Unleashed: Sith Edition - $6.79 (5/4/14...$6.59 from Gamefly)

Force Unleashed II - $6.79 (5/4/14..$6.59 from Gamefly)

*The collections do create better deals, of course...the full Star Wars collection (which regularly goes for $100) was $33.99 on 5/4/14. And the Jedi Knight collection was $6.80. Those are the only collections I'm seeing on Steam.

All right...damn, haha. That's a lot of prices and a lot of different times to consider. If we assume somebody bought all of these games individually at their absolute cheapest point and from their cheapest retailer...they would have spent $41.41.

Obviously, if you have some of these games already, this bundle wouldn't be nearly as appealing. But 71% lower than the cheapest these games have ever been (or 65% lower than the cheapest full collection price) is a pretty great bundle. I've been giving Humble shit for a while for their lackluster bundles...but this is a solid one. And there are still bonuses to come as well.

tl:dr - Star Wars Humble is a good deal.

Is there any deal apparently does not count flash sales as Just Cause 2 was on a flash as well for $1.
Yeah...that could be true. I'm not sure why though. But I do remember Just Cause 2 being under $1. I can't remember if it was a glitch or not...but that is how I acquired it, haha.

Did you guys notice that KOTOR is available on Android devices? I think it released in December.

Also, issue #2 of the Marvel Star Wars comic book comes out today!

I'd buy that game bundle if my computer didn't suck Harry Baals.

Kotor has issues with older tablets and phones, no? I don't have a Bluetooth controller anyways, so I stay far away from mobile games that require more than 1 or 2 buttons.

Are you sure it wasn't Just Cause 1 that was a dollarl0? I don't remember every seeing 2 for less than around 2.50.

I bought the bundle, had the games on my steam wishlist for a while and it was cheap enough for me. 9 games for $12 and they are adding more games to it next week, plus you can decide to put everything you pay towards charity instead of to Steam.

Hooray for me never deleting old emails, haha. I searched for "Just Cause" and found that I did in fact partake of the Just Cause 1 price mistake when Steam had it for $0.27 on 7/20/13. As indicated by this thread, the price was corrected and raised to $1.39 shortly thereafter...which is what ITAD shows the lowest price as.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/1iq70o/just_cause_is_currently_96_ff_pricing_error_who/

I bought Just Cause 2 the next day for $2.99. Based on that info, I'd say ITAD (and Enhanced Steam) catches flash sales, but not prices mistakes.

That's a stupid thing to get caught up in, lol...but oddly, I feel better having figured it out. More importantly, I bought both of those games a year and a half ago...and have yet to install either one... :wall: :dunce:

On the other hand, apparently this save does happen...so maybe EA knows everything, lol.

Can't decide if I should smoke steroids or inject marijuana before our games tonight. Not sure what will enhance my NHL 14 performance the most.

I need to watch that old people reaction video tomorrow, when I'm not about to go to sleep. My subconscious could easily get things mixed up, and I don't want to end up dreaming about old people sex.
