You won't need the money because within the first week, there will be a dude dropping billions in a server and using the Stock Market in single playet cheat is so easy.

So, it looks like the H1Z1 release has been pretty ugly so far...with the game and servers having a bunch of problems. Both Sony and Steam have been offering people "no questions asked" refunds.

On top of that, apparently it's already infested with hackers.

Competitive online is such a joke...in basically all games. Private with friends or trolling and not caring is basically all that exists anymore.

Ugh, thats so bad. Makes private servers more appealing, but most games you have to pay for one.
Yeah, I looked through the Steam forum for the game, and some people are claiming that it won't last long because Sony has upped the anti-cheat system to match Planetside 2, and these people will receive permanent bans. But I'll believe it when I see it. This stuff just sucks the excitement out of games. it is literally "why we can't have nice things", haha. Why even bother trying a new open world MMO when people can teleport, kill you with punches, and take your shit?

It's basically what we experienced just dabbling with GTA IV last night. Play privately smashing shit and killing NPCs...have a pretty good time. Let other people into the server...listen to constant shit talking and watch people hack the game. So dumb.

Here is why they took tow trucks out of GTA Online.  The Achievement Hunter guys found a created map that had tow trucks on it and the physics go crazy.

It would take you...
4843 continuous hours
201 days,19 hours,41 minutes
of gameplay to complete your Steam library
IN THIS TIME YOU COULD...
Drive from Alaska to the tip of South America 11 times.
Oh dear...

So...this is pretty interesting.

Seems like Microsoft is going after Google Glass here. Augmented reality almost freaks me out more than virtual reality. Something about putting things into my world and places that are familiar is much more unsettling than going to a virtual world that I don't know.

I'm curious to see what the timeframe/performance/cost of this is going to be.

Itll be interesting to see how this will coincide with the oculus and morpheus
Yeah, to me they're totally different. I could see this appealing a lot more to businesses. Maybe if two people on a Skype call were each wearing one, you could "beam" charts to each other or something. Also, a lot of the examples they gave in the video seemed to be design oriented. Seeing how a particular paint job would look or seeing your 3D modeled objects within a real space.

But for gaming...I don't know. Making your living room a "level" seems like it would get old fairly quickly. I do wonder if it could be used in combination with regular on screen gaming though (maybe even with XB1) to project your HUD (and maybe other game elements) outside of the screen...freeing up your screen for just clean action.

I still think enhancing your world and going to a different world are different enough to coexist though. I would imagine they'll just appeal to different people. It will be interesting to see if this appeals to anybody who didn't want to wear "a giant box" on their face with the Rift though.

So apparently raiding the bank isnt the fastest way to get money solo:
$600K+ in about 5 minutes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VpEE-Ds15o

With more people, I would guess you could do it in the upper 3 minute range.

I've been watching his other videos too, they're pretty informative.

Yeah, I tried that method last night, and I got absolutely lit up. Maybe when you're a level 100, you can just run around and dodge all the gunfire, but at 64, it was not working. Of course it didn't help that my AI teammates were good for shit and wouldn't even enter the mall half the time. And even when I called them in, they were of little help. I think the best I ever did was doing the damage to the mall first, then cracking 2-3 ATMs while waiting on the helicopter and hiding until it showed up. But even that was super stressful.

I had better luck just doing Four Stores and hitting the ATM in the convenience store, hiding in the corner until the van came, and then cracking the ATM on the street as I was escaping. This only gets you $209,000, but it's quick, easy, and can be stealthed so you don't have to rely on your idiot teammates.

In other news, Bundle Stars has a new bundle up...which includes Level 22, Kick-Ass 2, Cloud Chamber and 7 other games for $2.99. Cloud Chamber in particular looks really interesting. It's like an MMO detective game with live action story elements. It looks really creative and seems to have pretty solid reviews.

Oh, one last thing...SCS has released an hour of American Truck Simulator footage...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSUKlmqBJYQ

It's going to be awesome when people add the real brand mods, as you can see him drive past both FedEx (PostEd) and UPS (UDS) trucks around the 3:00 mark.

One of my favorite comments on the video:

Original Comment: "It's like playing Euro Truck Sim 2 with mods"

Response: "Well, Americans are just modded English people, so...."

Were you using armor? If so, try it with the suit. On my saw build, I have nothing in Dodge; the suit has 30 Dodge built in, and I was able to survive most encounters, just had to hide away after gunfights to let the (minimal) protection refill.

That footage has me drooling. Sad that it's only in alpha though.

Yeah, I tried both ways. The thing that kept screwing me is I would get tazed or something while cracking an ATM, and since the AI are shitheads, it would take them forever to help me out. By that time, we were just swarmed with shields, cloakers, etc.

I think any heist where I have to go loud in solo just isn't for me (unless it's on a super low difficulty...and then it's not worth it) because it really highlights where the game struggles. You're just blitzed with a ridiculous amount of stuff and the AI just stands there. All it ends up doing is wasting my time and pissing me off. I'd rather do the Four Stores ATM heist 3 times than deal with that nonsense.

I'm hoping that since it's largely the same engine as ETS2, maybe they'll move through the process a little more quickly. For an alpha, it looks very polished to me. They've already got traffic, exterior reflections look good...the interiors need work, and I don't know how hard programming the GPS is for them. But for an alpha, it looks pretty damn good and functional.

It's kind of stupid, people are actually bitching that "everything looks the same"...but maybe that's because the menus and UI for ETS2 have been revised numerous times the last couple years and are very slick now. Why change something that has almost been perfected?

I do wonder how much of the US map they intend to have before launching though. I thought they originally said it would just be California and they'd add on as they go. I also wonder if they'll do Early Access for the game.

:whee:

All right...that became basically an insta-buy, haha. :)

:whee: :whee:

Damn, stop it guys. I'm getting tired, lol.

That would be so great...if only for the sake of competition. We struggle to not go over our bandwidth cap almost every month now. It's not even like I'm pirating shit like the old days, lol.

But with digital game downloads (Steam, XBL GwG, etc), constant game/program/system updates (Steam, Nvidia drivers, XBox One, Xbox 360, PS3), and then just digital video streaming (Netflix, Vudu, Amazon Instant Video, Youtube) 300gb a month for 3 people is a tight squeeze. And that shit costs $75 a month already.

I even refrain from DL'ing a lot because we'd easily go over if I wasn't actively rationing it. It's horrible.

When I see stuff like this, I'm just thinking..."This is what nerd celebrities spend their money on..." Their entire homes are filled with stuff like this. It must be amazing.

Anyone see that Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is 10 bucks on Xbox Live? Might be a fun game for us instead of hockey one night.

That's going to be like the FH2 situation...im in if we're all in.

I still haven't played that Vancouver Olympics game. Or that wrestling game sine that one night lol.

Yeah, EA Sports UFC is $10 this week too. Some pretty decent sales from EA. That said, I've been buying too much on Steam lately (I feel like I'm always saying that, lol). I found out that for whatever reason, Dying Light didn't get region locked, so the Russian market was in full swing again. And since it was revealed to have Rift support, that was too much to say no to.

I'm also trying to resist that Life is Strange game. It looks very "Gone Home"y (ha, gone homie)...and I really enjoyed that one.

In other news, I'm loving this CAG redesign. It looks good, actually has content, and it's fast. This is what 3.0 should have been.

There are no improvements for me. Text is smaller. Search is still broken. Now the forum logo takes me to the front page of the main site rather than the forums. I hate it.

Regarding Plants vs. Zombies: GW, I have it due to EA Access. Haven't played much due to not having people to play with.

Are you on mobile though? I know they've been having more problems with mobile than the regular site. I guess it probably depends on how people use the site and navigate around too. Most of the time, I have a tab with CAG open anyway.

But otherwise, I use the forum link next to CheapyD's head at the top. Clicking that takes me to the "index" of the forums. Then I just get to where I want, and use my browser's back button or the forum path under the ad at the top of the page to get around after that. As for text size, I haven't noticed any change...but I'm on PC, on a 1080p monitor, with Google Chrome zoomed to 110%. My settings could just be very similar to what they were testing on.

I at least feel like this is a solid foundation that just needs to be tweaked...as opposed to the broken, largely unusable system (wikis, loading speed, etc) they had with the CAG 3.0. I can be patient for them to iron out bugs if the main foundation isn't a piece of shit.

Is is PvZ 2player?

I don't like how on PC, clicking your avatar on the upper right logs you out. Had to log back in several times yesterday. That's where you used to check your followed topics and stuff before.

I was going to say I (honestly, based on people I know) didn't realize people still used computers for internet browsing. But I guess if you're already on there playing games...

I'm using the default Android browser on a Samsung Galaxy S4. No Cheapy head. The logo always used to link back to the main forum page and seems like it should only take seconds to correct the HTML code.

Alan: I want to say it's 6v6 or something along those lines. It's basically like Team Fortress 2 on Xbox 360, but prettier and actually functional/playable. There's also a co-op horde mode type thing in which 4 players battle the AI.

Yeah, that's definitely a bug. I guess I'm lucky that I never really used that, haha.

And Garden Warfare is just a regular online shooter style game isn't it?

Are you talking same system 2 player? If so, I don't think it is, but I don't know for sure. It has a 24 player multiplayer and 4 player co-op on Live.

As for the redesign, I really like it. I mostly use my phone to come here since I'm rarely near a computer. Like Matt said, the text is smaller, but I feel like it is much more crisp. As for menus and what not... I always just come to the site through my bookmark that leads to my subscribed threads and then after checking those hit the home tab in the upper left.

Haha, yeah...I was going to say grownups use computers, lol ;)

No, seriously...between my PC and the PC in our living room (acting as a DVR), the stuff I'm able to do would cost most people a fortune. I might as well be Harry Potter (or a fat version of Harry Potter...GEEK, lol)

I specified "for internet browsing". :p If I had a decent gaming PC, I probably wouldn't be going on 2 months without my home PC even being plugged in.

I haven't even turned on my Xbox One lately, now that I think about it. Been all about that PS4, homies. Destiny still has me hooked, but my game time has been divided (roughly) as follows:

Destiny: 55%
Final Fantasy XIV: 30%
GTA Online:10%
Diablo III: 5%

Went back and looked through our recent games and we actually went 8-1-2 tonight....won a Division 5 Championship...won a Division 4 Championship...and got Rob his Legend 3 card. Not a bad night for CAG Hockey, haha. :)

So here's a conversation I had with a kid in NHL after I made him rage quit halfway through the first after I got my 2nd goal.

So for Payday, I guess we'll stick with lower level Hoxton Breakout until we're leveled up a bit more lol (I realized later that night that I put it on Overkill, but last week we did it on Very Hard). And more stealth heists. Theres still more that we havent ran as a 3-man group yet.

EA has put the game in a corner with this. When goalies stop nearly everything but two types of shots, and people will exploit it because the say its the "best" way to score. Play proper defense, and it will bore you out of your mind.

In other hockey related news, apparently you CAN get a DUI for driving a Zamboni while drunk

They definitely reward the douchebags... Although I've had a lot more success and I'm still enjoying the game shutting down those idiots that only go wrister or cross-crease. I guess part of it is I love hockey, and the other part I enjoy defense in any sport. So for me their is a great amount of satisfaction in playing conservative and hard-nosed defense and winning 1-0 or 2-0 on shots from the point or breakaways.

That kid ended up sending me another message bitching about how I don't switch to play the puck. That I exploit my AI by letting them play defense.

I found another way to troll the bought-team-exploiters is to just play a slow paced game passing non-stop and almost ragging at times. Sure it's an asshole tactic, but it seems like most of them get the idea by midway point and stop pulling their bs tactics. I think that is a big reason why I like division 2 a lot is that the people in it are generally carrying a hockey mentality.
