This will be my last post on the subject, as I never meant to derail things. I was just trying to be helpful and let you know that you could trade through seek. I understood what you were saying. What you are saying is incorrect. You can look it up via google or any other search engine. The problem was that the level wanted did not show. Every single posted pokemon would list as if the user did not care at all what level the pokemon was, when in fact they did care and you just could not see it. There was never a problem where you could not trade at all via seeking. If you tried it 50 times and 50 times you could not complete a trade, then each and every time it was because you did not have a pokemon with a high enough level. You could get your copy fixed by sending it in to Nintendo, though they wipe your saved game.
Glad it is your last post on this subject. Though you were trying to be helpful, it was not. Not all pokemon were shown as if the user did not care what level the pokemon was. I stated this earlier in one of my posts. Some would show as whatever level, while others did show with a level range. So the ones that showed what level I tried to trade for and could not get the trade to work. At times I would go see which higher level pokemon they wanted and would go off to catch it in the wild. The trade was still open and I did have the desired level, yet could not select it.
It is not like you said, that they cared for a level and I could not see it. The fact is some did show (not always, but occasionally so for those what you said was true), but I could still not trade. I know I could get my copy fixed by sending it to Nintendo, but did not want to start all over again.
As I said, I am happy that this problem was fixed with later copies and that it was not a problem with HG and SS so I could once again do trading both ways. Now can we just go back to discussing HG and SS?
I was wondering just how many steps it would take to really raise the friendship of a pokemon completely. For example to evolve Togepi you could technically just have him in your pokewalker for a few days without trading him back (only your gifts and pokemon) and when you trade him go level him up by a fight or a rare candy and at level 2 you would have a Togetic. Same with Umbreon/Espeon. Anyone have any idea, what does the friendship rater in Goldenrod have to say?
