Official San Diego Area CAG List

anyone know if the Wii points cards are back in stock everywhere? i admittedly haven't checked around in a week or two, but i remember them being kinda tough to find. i'd love to pick one up in Chula Vista if anyone has any leads. thanks!

Check the inventory locator, quite a few stores are supposed to have them, including the Eastlake store near Target which is supposed to have 4+.
forgive me, FFM, but i've never used the inventory locator. where do i find it on the site?
Ah, search Wii Points, click on the only result. Look for a big red bar that reads "Check Store Availability." Type in your Zip Code, and hit the "go" button. A pop up should appear with a bunch of stores nearest you and the amount they have in stock.

dur, i can't believe i didn't see it the first time. thanks for that. looks like the GS on H (near Broadway) supposedly has a few. hope they still have them later today.

thanks again!

Merry Christmas SD CAGs. What are you guys doing for day after Christmas shopping? I'm planning on hitting TRU for the new $9.98 games and that's it. Probably the National City store and maybe the Industrial Blvd, and Grossmont store if I don't get everything I need there.

Merry Christmas guys! I'll probably be off to Fashion Valley or Mission and maybe CC with the Target ad in my hand so I can get a couple of those nice 360 games :)

Anybody know what time stores are supposedly going to open?

Merry Christmas, folks!

the wife and i are gonna hit some stores tomorrow (Tuesday), and see what Christmas stuff we can get on clearance (lights, decorations, etc). you gotta get out there early though, 'cause the ladies go crazy for those markdowns. it really is insane.

i got a bunch of great non-video game related stuff, but i also got all 3 of the BK 360 games, Excite Truck, Metal Slug Anthology, and some Wii gloves (yay!)... i wasn't even expecting to get any gaming stuff, but my friends and family were really thoughtful and knew just what i liked. good times.

i hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday!

hey if any of you CAGs are going to be hitting up any Game Crazy stores tomorrow for the after xmas sale, stop by the e. h street chula vista store. im opening up tomorrow. bring your reciepts for game systems you bought recently and get free rental sheets and gaming coupons. let me know you're a cag if you stop by.

BTW what time do GC stores open tomorrow? Any special holiday times?

Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

I got an awesome gift from my good friend and fellow CAG'er Ace R. Hajime No Ippo 2: Victorious Road for JPN PS2. :)

It's by far the the most in depth/technical boxing game out to date... loving it.

Unless I overlooked everything, the National City TRU didn't have any of the sale games I was looking for which was:

Zelda Minish Cap
Castlevania DoS
Resident Evil DS
Odama
Amplitude
Atelier Iris 2
Steambot Chronicles
Feel the Magic
Dot Hack//GU
Grandia 3
Metal Saga
NHL 06

I didn't feel much like going to Industrial Blvd or Grossmont so I just went home. Oh well I've got other games I need to play.

I did go to Fashion Valley at 8 this morning to return a shirt my Auntie got me at Sun Diego, which was having a pretty nice sale. Also today is the first day of the Nordstrom's Men's Half Yearly Sale. Some decent deals to find there if you are looking to up your wardrobe.

The Industrial Blvd. store had multiple copies of Odama, Atelier Iris 2, Steambot Chronicles and Metal Saga as of half an hour ago. Somebody snagged my copy of Grandia 3 from National City which annoys me, but I'm guessing I can find one when I get back home to LA tonight. Good luck!

so i'm home in san diego for a week. i know there was a discussion of mexican food earlier in this thread but what's the best mexican food around the mira mesa area (or within 20 minutes)? i've been gone for awhile so i'm guessing that all of my old haunts have gone downhill or changed

so i'm home in san diego for a week. i know there was a discussion of mexican food earlier in this thread but what's the best mexican food around the mira mesa area (or within 20 minutes)? i've been gone for awhile so i'm guessing that all of my old haunts have gone downhill or changed
I live in Mira Mesa, so I know plenty about the spots around here.

Don't go to Alejandro's (the old Albertos) that used to be next to Mervyn's and across from TRU. I haven't ate there, but everybody tells me to stay away.

There are three really good spots on Miramar Road. Palomino's in the business area where subway is located has the largest burritos I've ever seen. I swear they are 4-5 inches wide and 8-10 inches tall. I haven't ate there since Chargers training though--since around july or august. This place is considered to be a hidden secret for most people.

The usual spot on Miramar rd and my favorite taco shop in north county that I go to is Roberto's. If you're coming from the 15 going eastbound on Miramar rd, it's located in the plaza right after the pyramid. They give a very large amount of carne asada fries. I think this is the best place in north county for fries. California burritos are very meaty, so if you use a lot of hot sauce, they can start to taste/look really dark. I only eat the fries and california burritos, so I can't comment about anything else they serve. Popular spot. Very busy late at night.

There is also another taco shop directly across the street from the Denny's on Miramar Road that is really good, I just haven't ate there in 2-3 years. Popular spot. Also busy late at night.

In Mira Mesa, El Patron (Cotixas) right next to Ralphs is decent. I like their burritos, their carne asada fries are different than the usual since they are more restaurant style with beans, pico and large fries. You can add or take out whatever you want, of course. If you're on a budget, they have bean and cheese burritos, chicken mixed burritos, and some other varities for $1.59. Fish tacos are just $0.99. I go to the cotixas next to my house for cheap mexican food if I don't want to spend so much or if I want to eat a little lighter. If it's like the Cotixas next to my house, they close at 10:00pm, 10:30, or 11:00pm. I forget which time.

Juanbertos on black mtn rd right off of miramar rd in the same plaza as Rice King is decent and better than it used to be, but I don't eat there as much. It's a somewhat popular spot though. Can be busy at night. Lots of marines, and it's right next to a bar that marines go to.

If you can only pay by card, Sombrero always accepts card. Their food is good, but isn't as big as most places. That one is located where the old nickel city used to be and in the same plaza as Chuck e cheese's , in the plaza right across from the Denny's on Mira Mesa Blvd.

So anyway, the best spot in my opinion is Robertos on Miramar Road.

I need to get a new car stereo. I got a gift card for Fry's so I am pretty sure I am going to go there to get everything it is that I need (Receiver, Dash Kit, and Wire Harness I believe). Does anyone know if they do free installation there, as I am completely oblivious about anything dealing with my car? If so is there a minimum I need to spend on my receiver to get free installation?

Any help would be great guys, thanks.

edit: oh yeah, also what time does Fry's open? I'd like to get it done as quick as possible.

edit2: After I found out Fry's did not do free installation and their selection was pretty wiped out, I went over to Best Buy in National City, whose selection was just as bad, but had free installation. Ended up getting a Pioneer System, iPod Interface, and all the install goodies and installation for a little under $300 (there goes all my Christmas money, and some). A lot more than I wanted to spend, a very unCAG like move, but quality wise I think I will be happy. Their installation bay was packed, so I gotta bring my car over there tomorrow morning.

Went to Mission Valley today and bought some jeans that were 2 for $40 (which was apparently normal prices). Later on went to CC in Point Loma and price matched Target's price for Marvel Ultimate Alliance PS3 for $39.99, used the $5 off coupon and got it for $38 after tax. Pretty good deal! Also picked up the component cables for $15 after tax with price match from TRU :)

Oh yeah, during my trip to Fry's today I saw a few PS3 60GB consoles. I think Fry's forces a bundle which is why they are probably sitting there. But anyone who has a lot of cash to spend and desperately wants one, check there.

it's funny how you can go to a lot of stores now and find a ps3. not that there's a lot of them out there, or people dont want them, people just don't have the money.

we had one last week the day before xmas eve and people who asked if we had any turned it down left and right because they couldn't afford it. hell, i turned it down too. typical response "i'd rather buy a 360 and a wii."

Hope y'all had a Merry Christmas.

I'm not sure how hard they are to find at this point but I'm returning a PS3 60 gig to CC Escondido in about half an hour. Turns out my g/f and I surprised each other with a system for Christmas. =)
Nope not yet, I downloaded it from the Hong Kong store lol.

yeah.
you should be able to walk into most any store and pick one up.
That's odd, the DLs are fast for me... :/
How fast? It took me about an hour and a half to download the latest firmware and I'm using ethernet connection too! Also running on Earthlink High Speed internet and it's taking a while for some reason.

yeah DS's are popping up again everywhere.

Would anybody be interested in buying my gigabyte mATX mobo and x2 4200+? I'll give a good price on these. I don't want to sell it online because I don't want to take apart the heatsink.

If anyone is still looking for Wiimotes, the Best Buy off of Highland had about 6-10 more left as of 11:30 AM. They also had 3-5 PS3s just sitting on the shelves with an employee just standing right next to them.
still looking for ds lites..
still sold out everywhere.
if u see one, please report it here
Try the CompUSA in La Mesa. They are supposed to have them in stock according to itrackr.com

Homefield advantage!! Man, I almost fell off my chair when Neal ran for that big gain. It was hilarious because he tried to stiff arm that guy, but then he was like fuck it, and just smashed him with his helmet.

now i have the money for white ds lite..
but even the iTrackr says theres no shop that has it in stock right now..
0 - 19 !!!

so yes.. if any of u see any white ds lites while shopping.. tell me.. i will head out right away. :cold:
