Maybe try someplace that you wouldn't normally buy games but carries them such as Sears.

Damn, sucks for all of you.

I guess I got real lucky getting DS w/ 3 game bundle and etc for $120.

If anyone is still looking for Wii Nunchucks and Classic Controllers, the TRU off of Highland (National City) had a good amount of each as of 7PM today. No Wiimotes though, or DSLs.

if you're looking for a ps3 and still can't find one (although im sure you can, but just in case...) i was at the gamestop off eastlake parkway today and i overheard an employee say that had just got 6 in and still had 4 from the day before. so 10 in total as of today.

sucks to be sony because these things SHOULD be flying off the shelves and they aren't.
I'm pretty sure you should be able to find a PS3 without problems..
yeah like i said. sucks to be sony.

Yeah, I'm on the fence about getting one and haven't been actively searching for one in SD. It's just a little too expensive...especially after the holidays and having bought a Wii and multiple 360, DS and PS2 games...

Yeah, the UT is inserting 10 playoff tickets into 10 random papers around the county. Those that aren't eligible are subscribers. You have to buy it in the newsstands. Oh, and they're all shrinkwrapped so we can't peek inside.

i tried to buy it today off ticketmaster.

i refreshed EXACTLY when it went to "find tickets" , and they were all sold out already.

i dont believe it

It was insane...

In other news... I got my USB convertors from Japan for the PS3... now I can use my arcade sticks for Tekken 5: DR and VF5... hooray.

that's pretty sweet.

my girlfriend got an apartment recently and ive been lugging my xbox 360 from my place to hers constantly so i had the bright idea of buying extra component cables and an ac adapter and leaving them at her place to make things 100 times easier. that way i only have to unplug the console and go. so i went online and froogled a search for xbox 360 ac adapter, i had no idea those fucking power bricks go for 50 - 70 dollars. anyone know where i can find a cheap one? if that's even possible. at this point it seems like a better idea to just buy her an xbox 360.

Looks like this thread has been dead for the past few days,.

Where's all the Charger fans at?

This has been the most hyped up week for Charger playoff football ever. There's been too much trash-talking all week with patriot fans and Charger fans and the media from both cities. It's almost game time.. just a day and a half away baby.

If you guys don't know, go to Sprint stores for a free "Sound the Charge" banner and at 7-eleven they are selling Charger power towels for $6.99.

Anyone going to the game on Sunday?

Yeah, I noticed the board has been pretty dead lately. All the holiday spending and new releases have faded.

I won't be at the game, but I'm going to an office part to watch it. Any of you guys hear of anyone actually finding those tickets in the UT?

Any of you guys considering the $100.00 trade in offer for a PS2 toward a PS3 w/ EB? I'm on the fence about it...

I was thinking about the ps3 deal this morning, but decided not to. I'm going to wait to wait and see which system is better between the ps3 and 360.

25 hours until gametime..

yea i considered it too. but my son has a lot of ps2 games and im not abotu to let him near a ps3. also, i just cant justify the purchase.
it took me a year of games to justify the $400 360 purchase, its gonna take more for a ps3.

ill be drinking beer, eating pizza, and hooting and hollering durign the game tomorrow.
my neighbors know when im watching the game. =)
im very very interested to see how belichek has gameplanned and how the chargers as a whole react and specifically rivers.
this has potential to be a classic playoff game. im amped

I think the PS2 trade in thing is an alright deal IF you don't plan on playing your PS2 games anymore...

Cuz honestly, PS2 BC on PS3 is wack... some games are fine, but a lot look really bad...

AND GO CHARGERS!

STOMP THE PATS AND KILL INDY...

anyone going to the game?

my mom surprised my brother and i with tickets at the field level =)

GO BOLTSSSSSSSsssssSSSSSSSSSsssssss (my brother is a pats fan wtf!)

thank god im not a football fan or else i'd be pissed off right now.

anyone try the wackass lost planet multiplayer yet? GARBAGE.

the good news is the single player game is really good.

I'm debating whether I should get a Wii or a 360.. if I get a Wii, I'm getting Zelda with it. If I get a 360, I'm getting Gears of War and Madden (free at CC or BB). And I'd also need to get component cables for whichever system I buy.

What do you guys recommend? I'm not up to date on the next gen.

And where can I get some cheap component cables for the 360 and for the wii? I've heard Walmart has some cheap psyclone wii cables for $9.xx. Anybody check Fry's?

Depends... The Wii is really good for the short but sweet pick up and play games. I find myself playing Rayman, Monkey Ball, Wii sports and Trauma Center MORE on my Wii then playing Zelda. Mostly because I can play those games with my lady or friends that come over. Plus I think Wii games, even ports, kind of add a breath of fresh air to playing games. I owned COD3 for 360 and had COD3 for Wii checked out from Gamefly. I just assumed I would like COD3 single player more on 360 but I ended up playing the Wii version wayyyyyyy more. I boiled my reasoning on that one down to the fact that it makes conventional games, like first person shooters, a whole lot more fun because you're doing something new. I think Marvel: UA was garbage on both the 360 and Wii but I can tell you once again that I had a lot more fun with it on the Wii.

If you just want to do some online gaming and play some really sweet fast paced action games right now, then buy a 360. If you're more into playing by yourself than with your friends then buy a 360. If you're questioning your sexuality then buy a 360. Okay, the last line was a joke. But seriously, the 360 is more of a chill console where you can just kick back and relax and play some single player stuff after work or something unlike the Wii which can tire you out and feels more like a party system.

I boils down to what type of gaming you want to do more. Do you want a party system to play new and old games with your buddies? Or do you want a HD system that will fill your your action gaming (and online gaming for that matter) needs?

Honestly man, I would say to buy both. You'll have such different experiences on both that it will justify both purchases.

The only system I can't vouch for right now is a PS3. While it seems cool, I see no point in dropping 600 bones if you have a 360.

The 360 premium pack ($399.99) comes with HD component cables.

Notable 360 games:
Table Tennis
Gears of War
Lost Planet
Rainbow Six
Tomb Raider
Prey

Notable Wii games:
Trauma Center
Warioware
Rayman
Zelda
Excite Truck
Call of Duty 3

Remember, this is all my opinion from my experiences with both systems. Chances are you'll get a 360 before a Wii though. Not because you wont want a Wii, but because you wont be able to find a Wii. Also, if you plan on buying a Wii and stumble across any nunchucks or wiimotes before you have one, BUY THEM. You'll regret it when you buy the system and go on the hunt for an extra nunchuck or wiimote.

And it looks like I'll be leaning more towards a 360. Like you said, the wii is probably going to be more of a party system.

The 360 would take full advantage of my audio/video equipment, plus I really play games by myself most of the time. I rarely play videogames outside of my house. Most people I know would never own a wii, so I would never have anybody to trade games or talk about anything wii-related.

I don't know anymore than 1-3 people who are into gaming like I am, and I'm not much of a hardcore gamer anymore. Work, school, going on the internet, and a social life make videogaming to the last priority for me (so why buy a 360? I have no fucking idea. I just feel the need to buy something right now and I'd like to step into the next gen). I also for the past hour looked up xbox 360 modding and hack forums and found a few ideas I want to do.

The only reason I would get a wii is because my girl wants one and slightly because of zelda.. but I don't think those reasons are enough. I just don't see anything in the wii's future that would make a wii purchase worthwhile.

Anybody check Fry's?
I'd go with a 360 at CC with the NEW $40 off $199 coupon for now and the Wii later, but then you'd have to factor in whether or not you're willing to wait for the updated model of the 360 as well. The 360 and the Wii are two completely different consoles, and in order to get the best experience you'd have to purchase both. The 360 will cover the majority of your gaming needs: DVD, GO ON LIVE, H.., fps, multi-platform games etc., while the Wii will only be as strong as their first party titles, as well as some select third party titles.

To put it in easier terms: 360 =; Wii = :grouphug:. So if you plan on gaming solo for the majority of the time over (there aren't too many games that allow for a guest to join over Live) go with a 360. However, if you always have someone over at your house that likes to game, then get the Wii.

Though purchasing the Wii right now wouldn't be in your best interest since the library isn't big enough yet, and there has yet to be a game that truly takes advantage of the innovative controller. There's only one game that is worth full price (Zelda: TP), and even that doesn't warrant a MUST-BUY for the Wii. Wii Sports, Rayman, and Monkey Ball are definitely fun, but their charm can only last so long. The Wii has potential, but it needs more time to grow.

So if I were in your shoes, I'd wait for the remodeled 360. If you can't wait use the $40 coupon at CC, or buy it at Costco then return it when Microsoft releases the new model. Your ultimate goal is to get a Wii60 though.

Oh and Chargers FTL:boxing:..

When does the new model come out? I heard it isn't coming out for a while.

Has anybody had success using multiple coupons--including a circuit city coupon--at best buy?

There's a new 12% rewards coupon and if I can get get that to stack with the $40 off $199 CC coupon to buy a 360, that would be a dopeass deal.

Think it'll work?

I've always had really cool cashiers who were young and never gave a shit about giving me discounts, even on items that were excluded on the coupon.

I made this post in the $40 off $199 thread, can anybody answer my question?

A new 360 hasn't even been announced yet. I've seen 2 sets of rumors, one was killed at CES. The other rumored XBox is not gonna have gaming enhancements per se, it's more like Media Center enhancements.

If you'll use the XBox 360 for gaming, don't wait. If you're trying to use it as a DVD player, or for IPTV (the rumored capability for the new model), or something like that, then maybe you wait a bit longer.

(I had the same questions as you, 360 vs Wii -- bought a 360 this past Sunday. I don't think I'll regret it, even having a family that likes to play games.)
You'll regret it when you buy the system and go on the hunt for an extra nunchuck or wiimote.
Actually, I don't think they are that hard to find any more. Last time I checked, I saw some at the TRU on Morena Bld.

I think I saw them last week. Can't remember the day but it was a weekday. Call them to make sure, but I definitely saw Wii controllers, nunchucks, and classic controllers. I also saw pre-order slips for Wii-Play, the game that comes bundled free with the controller. (Hint, hint)
