Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:
...I quit CC. Very recently. :whistle2:#
Yeah, we know. They were moving the merchandise sections around your store last I checked. At least they'll be able to say they didn't go quietly into this good night...
Who quits a job in this economy?
I quit my second job at this local gym. It was just too tiring while working my real job in fire protection.

The weather is fantastic btw.

I missed my chance for those training sessions??

Whats up guys! I reside in San Bruno,

I am new here so HI!!!! Just looking forward to meeting some of you cheap ass gamers....

and taking this opportunity to ask if anyone knows where to find a wireless network adapter for a good price? GS in Livermore has some used ones, but thats too long of a drive for me.
Any import video game shops in San Jose?
There used to be on in San Jose off Saratoga called "User's Side". They closed up shop around last month and will be concentrating on online sales. They were pretty much a Japanese electronics store that worked out of San Jose and Akihabara.

There was also this great import shop in Burlingame called "Network Video". They closed sometime last year. From what I heard the new owners were not declaring much of their merchandise to Customs. What ended up happening was that lots of their stuff was held back and eventually the place just quietly closed.

Nothing in Bay anymore :(

ARE YOU SERIOUS. I was going to recommend that place. I only went there once but it was incredible. This is terrible news.

 I'll still be doing personal training on the side. I'm working with a couple people I know just to get the flow of things, but I won't be a certified trainer till later this year. We can have a Bay Area CAG workout session this Summer, no shirts allowed though.

Were one of those the stores that had a major clearance sale? A friend of mine was telling me about this import store in San Jose that sold Hori real arcade pro 3 for like $40-50 and other imported goods going for over 40% off. Still kicking myself for missing out on that.

Anyways, Pleasanton resident here.

That would be User's Side. If they had Hori's they went quick because I didn't see any when I went there a while back.

I went to User's Side awhile back to get a Dual Shock 3 in black and white before they were released in the US. I remember driving by and seeing that it indeed closed.

When I was going to San Francisco State, I used to visit Network Video all the time in Burlingame. I'm also sad that it closed as well. I knew the owners and they would always give you a deal if you paid cash or ATM. Those were good times.

All we can go to now for our import needs are NCS and Play-Asia.

January 15 was the date of the post on the Capcom blog. The focus test is January 21. RIF.

Anybody been to a Circuit City yet today? Are they into liquidation mode with everything up to full price less 10%?

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm looking to pick up some hardware for my computer, buy a few games, and help my friend buy a decent computer (parents refuse to let us, a bunch of programmers who've built their own computers, build it for her).
I can't find anything clearance at all, especially at Target's.

BTW - Hope everyone's Holiday was Happy.
It's slim pickings at Target. I was at the Colma Target two weeks ago, and they had a bunch of games on clearance. I went back this week, and there is nothing left. I am contemplating whether to pick up Trivia Pursuit on clearance now though.

I was passing by Circuit City this morning while on my way to Trader Joes. There was a shit load of people there waiting to get in. I asked them if they knew what the percent discount was and no one knew.

I knew it was a mob mentallity taking over. I didn't bother joining the crowd. 10 % is no real discount.

I figured all the CCs would be set upon by the Black Friday crowds, so I'm not going to bother. For some reason I never had any luck with CC deals, anyway.

Still, if someone happens to see a 120GB 360 HD...

My friend and I stopped by the Stevens Creek Circuit City after work and it was indeed a madhouse. Nothing was majorly discounted. All the reports of 20% off CDs and DVDs were true. However, we both came to the conclusion that we didn't want to spend any money at the store...yet.

Now, if and when the sale is at 40 to 50%, then we'll talk.
Is it true that the Sunnyvale Target closed permanently? I just found out from someone today via pm

--Michael
I dont know about permanently, but i rembmer seeing signs about it being closed around this time about a month ago. i dont go there often so im not sure what the fate of that target is, but i know for sure it was closing around this time.

Yes the sunnyvale target has been closed since the 3rd and it will be replaced by a new target store in november 09 (more like febuary 2010 is what I heard) I'm glad that downtown is getting a revitalization. I can only hope the theater brings in more night life around there.

If anyone see some extra XBL or PSN point cards reduced at CC liquidation i'd pay for ya for them. Cheap cards be cheap.

Anyone up for a South Bay Area Cag meet up for lunch or something sometime?
anyone in here going to WonderCon?
My girlfriend and I will be attending again this year. Sort of a tradition since we started dating :)

Definitely looking forward to cool panels, signings, merch tables and the 1/2 off Graphic Novels booths!

I went to the CC in San Mateo and Daly City on Monday. At the San Mateo CC, 20% CDs/DVDs, 30% cables/mobile accessories, and 10% off of everything else; I think the DC CC was the same thing as well.

At the CC in Daly City, they had 30% microsoft points (1600 ones) and Wii points...You have to ask for the MP at the cashier because it is in the back. I am not sure if they have anymore in stock though b/c the cashier had no idea about the 30% off of the cards so he might have bought hella. Worth a shot though.

Really? When I was there last time, all the Microsoft points I saw were the ones in the glass case, and they were only 800 points. I may drop by if that may be the case.

Edit: After reading about how some CC have Microsoft points that are not usable, I want to know are the 1600 ones that you brought comes in a packaging (plastic shell).

Yeah, they're in the plastic case, I was going to buy the 800 point MS cards, but the guy said I can't because they have to be scanned.

Being a Street Fighter fan, I was so happy to pick this up today at my local Gamestop.

Man, I wish February 17 would come much sooner!

Nice haul, Civickid. (Is that all one trip?) Reminds me I need to pick up Order of Ecclesia. I'm still kind of undecided on SF4, amazingly.

When is lunch happening? Mondays (weekdays in general) aren't great for me unless we're eating in Palo Alto, but that's expensive and sucks. Plus I want extra time afterward to throw down in DJMAX Fever. Out tomorrow!

noticed the Afro Samurai game billboard on my commute to work through Hayward on 92. Nice to see something other than "Celebrasian 08" or whatever was there.
