My stores seem to go in spurts as far as finding deals go. Though I at least know who most of my competition around here is(at least 2-5 or so other CAGs, though many are inactive).

It's still quite hilarious to go into a store, ask for a price check, have them say they updated any games that're clearanced and watch their jaws drop when I pick out 3-5(or more) games and they all come up WAYYYYY under sticker price.;)
 
scored marvel alliance 2 ps3 for $5. wow that game terrible. i immediately printed up an amazon trade in slip ($12). and too bad about lego rock band ps3 dropping to $10 tiv. oh well, still scored some great games from sears.

i'd love to score brutal legend for myself. anyone know when we'll be seeing a price drop for brutal legend ps3? it was $14 (clearance) at last check a couple of weeks ago at my sears. will there be an automatic price drop to $9. if so, how many weeks after a $14 drop does that occur?

Hah I just tried that game I got at Sears yesterday for $5 too and I thought it would at least be a little fun but it really is nothing but a button masher with rpg elements. I feel like if I got deeper into it could be kinda fun but the $10 I would get at gamestop sounds a lot better sadly haha. Also I'm pretty sure I've read that its literally impossible to platinum so thats kind of a waste

Did you mean 100% instead of platinum? There are games with DLC on the trophy list but the platinum trophy is still available when you get all of the disc based trophies.

Some games that have this are Resident Evil 5, Bioshock, Red Dead, Prince of Persia and Uncharted 2.

There are games that you cannot platinum anymore because the online games do not have servers like Endwar or Lord of the Rings: Conquest.
 
I feel real bad for being so superficial but something kinda opened my eyes yesterday. I was at the Sears in Manchester, CT last night and saw (I'm assuming a CAGer) an ENORMOUS dude with 3 of the ugliest people I have ever seen in my life buying something like 7 copies each of various Guitar Heroes for $4-$9 each. He was being extremely rude to the cashier about how things should be rung up, and pretty much cleaned out the entire clearance section. I would have loved to have gotten GH:M and SH for less than $10, but it sucks that this dude took all of them to make, at most, a $3 profit on each one so he could buy more bacon cheeseburgers. Oh well.

Picked up Wario Land Shake It (which I just bought from GS for $16-->returning) & A Boy and His Blob each for $4.97! Its about time I find a Sears clearance deal.

I'm not sure about MUA2. I know for Uncharted 2 the add-on trophies have a plus sign next to them, but MUA2 doesn't. I already beat it on Legendary but I don't think I have the desire to mop up the rest of the trophies.
 
I'm kind of a new CAG'er and I knew about Sears - as in 9.97 games I kinda-sorta wanted - but I didn't KNOW about Sears. Once I did I went there posthaste. Sadly, someone recently wiped out them out. The cashier said somewhere around 28 games.

Still, they missed a few things- or maybe they were feeling generous?

I managed to grab Hot Shots Golf, a couple of Bakugan PS3, A Boy and his Blob, MAU2, Viva, Loco2 and some other stuff that had a nice TIV with Gamestop's 50% deal.

Good times.
 
No i meant at sears. I asked 2 months ago they told me it was 39.99 on clearance. Went yesterday but couldn't find anyone to check the price

Oh. Not a clue. I haven't seen any of the Endwar games at either of the local Sears in forever.
 
I went to a local sears yesterday and found a bunch of these games and they all rang up at lik 19.99. Lego Rock band was 19.99, GH:smash hits and metallica both rang up something like 39.99. I guess sears pricing system isn't national? The store I went to had a TON of these games.

It's very random. I have two local stores, one had Lego Rock Band for $20 while the other was $5. But that's half the fun of the hunt :)
 
Stopped by a Sears today. Picked up A Boy and His Blob for 4.97. Awesome. Thanx everyone. They didn't have any others I was looking for the THPG ps3 and the MAU2 ps3.

How often and when do they put new games on clearenc?. I've gatherd from the thread every month in the beging? Right?
 
I went to a Sears on Monday and found out that I was banned from doing returns :( It turned out, I did 2 prior price adjustments, but found out the cashier did a return/rebuy instead, when it was within the 14 day period. Whatever. However, I bought a few Wii things for my niece + nephew, and the guy ringing me up is all like "Are you gonna sell this stuff on ebay???" I told him no, but seriously?!?!?!? It gets better.... I went back Wednesday, because my nephew wanted the Lightsaber attachment for Wii, and, lo + behold, all the multiple copies of the things I purchased were gone, but all the other clearance was there, including some stuff cheaper than what I bought that day.

I don't have to say JINKIES to figure out what happened there.....
 
Kind of new to this, so how do you guys go about getting Tiv so quick to flip these games. Or I mean how do y'all get them so fast and be up to date on the price drops and Tiv??

Check the "trade-in values" button at the top of your page (right side). This shows updated TIVs for Amazon, GameStop, Blockbuster and Game Crazy(now useless). We also check sites Gazelle.com and EzTradeIn
 
Went back to Sears today and found

Metroid Prime Trilogy (x2) for $4.97 each. Didn't see these last time I was there last week so it was a surprise. :D

Damn, that sucks. I don't remember seeing any of these games the last time I went there. I expected them to have a lot of old games on clearance, but they all seemed to be MSRP(didn't scan). The only game I checked was the original LBP, which was $60...:bomb: Wow...
Either I live near the worst Sears or there are a bunch of CAGs that go there. I think I remember there being a lot of MP:Trilogy's before it was on clearance. I don't remember seeing them when I went there after that...
Did there 3 games(A Boy and his Blob, Muramasa, Warioland:Shake It) go on clearance recently?
 
just got back from sears .. picked up another copy of dirt 2 ( traded in 3 already so im keeping this one) bakugan for 4.97 .

saw an older horder in his 40's or 50's not sure what he bought but he had a bag for of game and headed over to gamestop .....

Don't take my word for it, but I'm personally waiting on the 10+ copies of locoroco 2 until next month for flipping. I'm betting that it'll still be the same trade in value, but the game drops to $1.97 or $.97. Wish I had held off on the final fantasy iv's from last month... same trade value this month but they cost $3 less. Oh well. That's my theory behind the locoroco2's, but ymmv and don't take my advice if you don't want to risk losing them. :) but for what it's worth, the flip value is sooo tiny on locoroco2 right now. :(

Scored a nice haul today at the Oak Brook, IL Sears. Got myself:

2x - Singstar Volume 2 Bundle for PS3 - 2.97
1x - Lips Bundle for 360 - 4.97
2x - Lego Rock Band for PS3 - 4.97

Just so you all know, Lips trades for $21 on Gazelle.
 
Saw a copy of A Boy and His Blob, but all their games are behind glass and the sales associate didn't know anything about a clearance. Was kind of in a rush, so I didn't have the time to feign interest and have them scanned anyway.

Would really like to score Blob, Trilogy, Muramasa, and other stuff.
 
It would probably be easier to print out UPCs and take those to the price checker since it is possible it is full price. One store I went to had a Boy and His Blob not on clearance for $19.99, a 2nd store had it for $4.97.

Hopefully they're clearance prices. All the sticker prices said $39.99 or higher.

At one of the sears I hit this past week, a girl working there mentioned that they have a lot more out back that she tries to get out a little at a time. "I don't even know what we have." All I wanted to cry out was, "let me look!! Please, I'll tell you what's on clearance and needs to get on the floor!" But that gave me a little hope that possibly I'll see more which wasn't there before. Because really, this area stinks as Sears Clearance is concerned.

Lol, the guy let me in the back room when I was looking for deals last time. It doesn't hurt to ask.
 
In March, the manager took my UPC sheet, scanned everything on it and went in the back to grab anything they said they had in stock and was on clearance that I wanted (a few games scanned for full price) since most clearance was kept in the back. I know KMart does the same thing, with keeping older games in the back room.
 
Yeah, There is one guy in my Sears who will go into the back and look. That is how I got Trilogy. However, there is another guy who lies to me cause he doesn't want to go in the back and look. He claims everything is out. which contradicts the other guy.

One of the easiest ways is to look the item up on half.com, then copy the code and enter it here. Then you can just print out a whole sheet of them.

Chances are it's one of three things if your areas don't have much out that's on clearance. Either A) an El Hoardo came through and snapped up everything, B) they have some stuff but it may be in the back OR C) they never had much of the games to begin with.

In my area, it's a combination of all three usually, which is why I've found myself trying out a much further out Sears at times. Though I mentioned that one to another CAG who hit up my area with me and we did a Kmart run a couple of years ago(back when they had tons of stuff in the back room and not out in the case) and he grabbed both Fallout 3 GOTY's that were at the further store.:bomb:

Then again, I have like 12 games I haven't finished yet as it is now, so I really need to work on cutting down the backlog first and grabbing stuff only if I have time to dedicate to another new game.:cry:

But for $5(or less) can you really ever pass up a game?;)
