Official WarHawk Discussion: **Patch 1.5/"Falling Star" OUT!**

For those of you who ordered from FamilyVideo.com: I just got an e-mail stating that my copy of the game has shipped--it came through at ~8:30AM EST.

Hope the rest of you are in the same boat.
 
Damn, the Warhawk headset is small as fuck.

How's it working for those with the retail version of Warhawk? I'm about to jump on in a little bit and was wondering if it works well.

It does its job. It took be a little while to figure out how to set it up.

Only other problem I had is when I set it to be the output for the voice audio (under the accessories section/audio section somewhere). I might need to tweak the volume settings or something but everyone was muffled and I couldn't understand. So I switched it back to the TV, wearing it just for the mic.

Other then that I used it for my cellphone. People were shocked as to how clear I was on it when I called. Though, that could be because my mic on the phone needs to be looked at.
 
has anyone tried the advance flight controls? It's difficult but if you can master it, the games becomes so much more fun.
 
Holy crap this is a fun game.

I picked it up at Target on the way home tonight (I didn't want a download version to be locked into a particular user on my PS3). Anyway, I played around in local mode to get the feel of the game. I've never really played this type of game before because, typically, it makes me nauseous.

So, after getting the general feeling of the controls I get online, join a game, and get my ass kicked.

It was a fun ass-kicking. It was probably some 10-yo kid who blew me out of the sky, off of the ground, etc. over and over. Anyway, I get these games now (though I'm not very good, yet).

No nausea, either. That's a first. I'll have to play it a few more times to make sure as sometimes I don't experience it and other times it comes on quickly.

I only picked it up because CheapyD was talking about it on the CAGCast.

You can pull of some insane moves with it active.
 
If you tried purchasing this game on the night it came out, I'd advise checking your credit card info. I was charged 3x!

Wow that sounds like a nightmare.

Anyway, I got the retail version as a gift and am not sure If I want it. I am not really into strategy type war games. If someone wants it they can have it for $50.00 Shipped. I put it in my tradelist.

How does the downloaded version run? I heard some people say it was more glitchy than the retail. Witch doesn't really make sense to me, but just wonderin.
 
Bah, for some reason my copy of the game wont allow me to join any ranked matches (no matter how many people are in it, it says that the server is full). Incognito best be working on a fix for that, it's buggin' the hell outta me.
 
I love this game!! It's so fun and addicting!! Good thing this game satisfies my PS3 needs for now until Ratchet and Heavenly Sword, because I hear Lair is disappointing.

That is a drag.. I popped on around 9pm PST and grabbed it with no problems at all. I actually was expecting to be waiting for the download for a long time but even that was pretty quick. Was surprised to hear of all the problems that people were having at the checkout screen.

So far this game has exceeded my expectations. Most of the people I have been playing with are quite nice and I have not met that many idiots out there though I am sure they will be there soon enough.
 
I hate this game. I have joined tons of games, only to be kicked off by the admin. If I can't get into a game soon, I am going to sell this piece of shit(community) and get something else. If these dickheads want to have a private game, don't let it be open to the public. Until the CAG clan is up, fuck this game with a capital F!

I think the Blue Servers are Sony ones, right? Try playing on those. The few games I've played haven't gotten me kicked off.

I'm really digging this game so far, even though I suck. I just played in a 24 man, Warhawk-only match, with planes flying everywhere (just like the poster). fucking cool!

I suck at shooting with the Hawk, and I can't seem to dodge missle lock-ons. Any tips?

I was owning with a tank, though. That was fun.
 
I haven't been kicked out of Warhawk, but I did get kicked out of Tekken 5 DR online.

I absolutely love the game (just got it today). I never get sick of playing it, and I've only played one map, lol.
 
mines in the mail, i have been looking in the reviews, but haven't seen the answer to my question. Can you form groups before you join games, or do you just have to send people invites during the game so you can play with friends?
 
I know when I wanted to play with a friend of mine, I went into a buddies list and then joined his game. I am not sure if you can send invites.

I wait until it's close, then do the aerial stunts (R analog I think). Seems to work sometimes.
 
I think I like being on foot better. Although getting owned from above by some random Warhawk or sniper is no fun.

I like that you can customize your character. I apparently unlocked some stuff with my new rankings; I wonder how far they go with the customization.

Top Gun is apparently about being gay. Who would've thought?


Anyway, I'm pissed that I bought Puzzle Fighter. My girlfriend has been playing it nonstop, and I'm not getting any Warhawk time in!!!

Played a lot today. I really like it. I prefer the Dog Fighting for serious playing.
The ground stuff is fun to mess around with. One match I played was just dudes using Knifes. The Tanks are awesome as well.

Has anyone else Sometimes gone right through powerups with out picking them up and then turn around to see that they disappeared. It happens to me a lot. I will fly into a Weapon and it will not register that I picked it up. Happens every once in a while. Any one else experience that?

normally when I'm about to get kicked out of the room/server, that's when the game stops registering when I pick up items, or sometimes when I shoot people.

This is what happens to me in Resistance, and it's starting to happen a bit too often now >.>
 
Played with some CAGers last night and had a blast.

I really enjoy this game, my first kill was using a rocket launcher on a Warhawk overhead.

My flying skills are improving but I'm still crashing into buildings/mountains/aircraft anything I can possibly run into but I'm learning.

I'm really having fun with this game, and I can't wait until I get off of work tonight so I can play some more. (I really need to work on my flying)

It says place device into discoverable mode.. my phone doesn't have that but it says "searching for device" when I go into Bluetooth mode.. it doesn't find anything.. help!
 
I went ahead and bought the game (psn)

I was up till 230pm playing non stop.. only about the last 2 hours were on ranked server.

The game is indeed FUN AS HELL...
Although the controls are a bitch trying to figure out and the warhawk will take some time to master..

Just a few communication tips.

To know when you're mic is on while you're pressing L3, look up in the top left hand corner of the screen next to your name. There should be a icon there that will turn yellow when you're mic channel is open. Also the game makes a high pitched "tuning in" sound (not sure how to describe) when you press L3 too.

Also when someone else is talking the yellow icon will appear over their heads. Their dot on the radar/map will change yellow too, making it easier to see who is calling for help when they aren't near you.

Might not work with your phone. Mine worked easy, even though it is a shitty, shitty phone. Basically what I did was set the headset in search mode, then had my phone scan. I am not trying to talk down to you, but when the headset is in search mode, the little button flashes blue. I had to have it in this mode before i started scanning with my phone. I am a newb to this BlueTooth stuff.

Hey has anyone experienced any crashing? Just had my first one and it's bringing me flashbacks of the first couple weeks in the beta.

i joined 1 game a few minutes ago and the whole game froze.
I had to reboot the ps3.

Played about 100 games and that has been the only problem so far.

feels like it freezes every game for me, either in the game, or after every match in the next game starts in blah blah... anyone know a solution?
