Official WarHawk Discussion: **Patch 1.5/"Falling Star" OUT!**
I've checked some stores... they're not in yet... at least not in Miami, but I'm going to do some calling in neck of the woods.
Miami never gets stuff on release date unless they were shipped earlier... Since were' one of the four corners of the US, shipping to us takes a bit longer.
I'm sure it's been asked but I'm guessing you can't share Warhawk like other PSN games?
Nope, you can only play the game under the account that purchased the game.
Nope, you can only play the game under the account that purchased the game.
I can seem them implimenting that in more and more games, especially games that are actually retail.

I'm guessing I should wait for Wednesday to get the retail BR version so that I could at least have a chance at selling/trading the game in the future. Plus, I could sell the headset now to bring down the cost. Can't you sell that headset for 20-30? Checked on Amazon.

It may be multiplayer only, it may not have bots, and it may have a steep learning curve, but Warhawk lives up to its billing: a AAA experience that is an adrenaline rush for online fans. Large worlds, balanced combat mechanics and impressively deep server mechanics help this fast paced game soar. Regardless if you happen to prefer the retail version or the downloadable PSN title, this Sony exclusive shouldn't pass PS3 owners by.

So I was just now considering getting the retail version after all and flipping the headset, but I looked and that model goes for about $6 on eBay. I wonder how they can push the bundle being a great deal with a straight face.

Well even if that is for a new one, with at least $5 shipping (and that is being generous to sellers with their high ship prices...) that would put it at $11.

$39.99 (PSN cost) + $11 (low estimated cost of new Ebay headset- would you buy a used one?! eww..) = $50.99.

So maybe $10 short of the $59.99. There is more in the bundle like videos and what not which might make up for the extra. But from my quick search it is more like $15-25 on ebay and $7-12 shipping depending on who you get it from.

I heard the headset retails for about $40. I imagine prices are so low now, because they are oversaturated with everyone trying to flip the headset.

Because eBay prices always factor into retail pricing?

I just looked on eBay and very few are going for $6. Most are going for around $10 and are at least $15 with shipping included, so for a few bucks more plus the $40 the game costs, you get everything at once in a convenient package. What's supposed to be hard about pushing that?

All I know is that at Target, which is usually competitively priced, that headset goes for 40$. So, I think the retail has lots of value.

Bah. I just bought the game and I can't play it. Whenever I try to join a game i can a "game coneection has failled" error. I wonder why i get this problem.

PSblog was updated.

Video there on page too

Well…after staying up way too late last night playing, I’m here to say that Warhawk is LIVE and available on the PlayStation Store AND at retailers across the country!

There were some crazy intense games last night and it was great to see players having a great time, earning medals and ranking up. I did notice that on the boards some of you guys have mentioned that your stats weren’t posting after you completed your games. First off…apologies for this, it’s never good to have a medal that you fought for not be credited to your player!

That said, we should all expect some occasional and isolated stats interruptions this week as we bring all the players from the US and Europe online…both for the PlayStation Store version and for the Blu-ray version. We’ll keep these interruptions to an absolute minimum as we would rather not drowned in a tsunami of hate mail.

On another note, we had a great battle yesterday with IGN. They had some of their staffers and some lucky applicants battle our Warhawk team here at Incognito. Needless to say, we had a wicked good time. There were some truly amazing players so to all of you that are going online with Warhawk, be on the look out for Jag71, OneAdam12, Arbole, xT3RMINATORx, WillKills…all these guys are crazy good.

I was able to record some video of our play session for your viewing pleasure – it a bit shaky-cam, not Blair Witch shaky but, well you’ll see. I got to capture, on video, one of the very few times that our best pilot, “Gergination” has ever made a mistake piloting the Warhawk. He won’t be pleased about me posting this vid but it’s entertaining nonetheless.

I’d also like to extend a request for feedback regarding the game setups that we’re currently running on the Warhawk Sever Cluster. Do you like the configurations? Do you want to see more CTF? More ZONE? Higher point limits? Etc. Let us know.

I spent some time last night listening to people on VOIP and it seems like some of the games were ending too quickly so we’ll look to increase the point limits so the games last a bit longer.

That’s it for now…I’m including a collection of Warhawk-related post links below for anyone that would like to catch up on all the Warhawk discussion that’s been published here the past several weeks.

See you all on the battlefield!

True. I don't have the time to really put into researching headsets for both price and quality, so having a pretty good headset being offered with Warhawk for a price that's cheaper than buying both separately at MSRP is good enough for me.

Ill probably be picking up Warhawk at Circuit Shitty since I have an old gift card worth 30 there. Any coupons? I DO NOT want to spend money at that store.

How is it so far? Same as the old one?

I jumped the gun a bit with the $6 figure, since shipping does make a lot of them more like $15. I'm just bitter still about the account-locking thing, even on a single console. If it weren't for that I'd probably be playing the downloadable version now. So, I've been taking every opportunity to complain about the situation using dubious facts, ruargh!

1up 8.5

Again, they knock the price and lack of single player. I really am questioning that. I mean, I keep compairing this to the battlefield games. I bought Battlefield 2 and 2142 for full MSRP when they came out (think $49.99). Granted I know they had "single player" but I never touched the bot matches and I know a lot of people didn't either. You buy those games for the online experiance, same thing with Warhawk... Guessing people are having hard time letting the previous game go? Honestly, do you think they would have been happy with some bot levels (who says the single player was going to be story driven?)?

Also they didn't mention that you can change the sensativity of the motion controls which REALLY helps! Honestly, if you are having troubles with it go into options right now and balance it for yourself. EVERYONE in the beta was growling about how hard it was until we figured out how silly we were being seeing as that we could tweak it. After that everyone had nice smiles on their faces. Just a pet peeve... STOP complaining about the motion controls! :)

Well, I played a bit more last night (about an hour and a half) and am still finding myself "spaztic" with the controls. For those unaware, when piloting your hawk R1 is guns, R2 is forward (and increase altituded in hover), L1 is secondary fire, and L2 is slowdown (and decrease altitude in hover).

When I hear the missile lock go off I go to choose my chaff and release, but inevitably I end up either choosing a different weapon (weapons get chosen by the cross pad) or hitting something other than L1 to release it. This game is definately growing on me and my last game of the night was an AWESOME game of Zones where at the last 2 minutes I received cloking and enabled it to hover to the last major zone base .... their AA guns and hawks didn't even see me before I landed and took the base (had some help with my teammates who took out the AA). It was a damn good time, can't wait to play along side the CAGs.
STOP complaining about the motion controls! :)
Yeah, I tried this again last night and couldn't get into it, but guess what??? You can choose NOT to use the motion control; I did this and found myself being able to function much better. My point is that those that bitch about the motion controls, you have the option to not use them.
1080p support or is it strictly 720p?
It is rendered in 720p, but it can upscale to 1080i at least I know.

I was just thinking about how, instead of adding in a ground war into a game that's primarily about air fighters. Why not keep it an air game and make varying classes of air ships that players pilot? Then they'd have something even more original.

Hopefully they'll do something like that with DL Content down the line :D

Anyone having problems finding a retail copy?

I had $30 down at GameCrazy on NHL 2K8 for the 360 so I decided I wanted to just switch that to Warhawk but they only got 2 copies and they were both pre-ordered. I then went to Gamestop and they only had 4 copies all pre-ordered. Since I work next door to them though the manager gave me his pre-ordered copy since he was going to be busy playing Blue Dragon.

This is in a suburb of St. Louis BTW. Anyone else have similar issues?

I was watching videos of this game on IGN and wow, it looks like a lot of fun. I don't even own a PS3 yet but I'll have to get this game when I eventually get it.

you do have the option to make games that are Air only combat. Where you always spawn into a warhawk. I wouldn't be surprised if more air vechiles were added later tho.

I went to Best Buy and picked it up this morning. They had an ad stating that they'd have it by 2PM today.

Also, at Walmart they said check back at 4PM.

Whats the included headset like with weight and feel? I need a headset for my cellphone in the event that they pass a law here that outlaws cell use while on the road like Connecticut, this retail pack is good for me.

Going to need to wait until payday to pick it up though-- but that means I have the Labor Day weekend to get everything together.

I actaully had the game freeze once the first night I was playing. Just reset the PS3 and kept on going!
Has anyone experienced freezing problems? One friend of mine bought the disc version and can't get finish a game due to freezing.
This is a known issue that's being discussed on the Sony forums. Appearantly it's happening quite often to a variety of people. As of yet I haven't had it freeze, but that's like saying my 360 hasn't gotten the red ring ...... yet.

Anyone knows if you can play multiplayer on a local network only? Like, let's say you have two PS3s connected to the same router, but the router is not connected to internet. Can you play against each other that way?

I had mine freeze while processing login or something like that. But only the first time. I like the game, from the 5 minutes I played. It is going to take some time to get used to, but should be a blast.

local play is availible

Anyone hear from FamilyVideo.com about their order? I'm dying to play this game, and am contemplating just canceling my order and going to some B&M and purchasing it--I'd love to have it to play over Labor Day weekend.

my order is "processing" according to there website. I would also like to play the game this weekend, I am checking it all the time for updates, but I have ordered from them before and they are usually pretty good so I am willing to wait a little while to save some money.
Called today. Said it should be in my mailbox tomorrow.
did yours ship already? Or does it still say processing?

I'm not sure how well known this is, but my roommate was able to play split screen with me using a ps2 controller and a ps2 to usb adapter.

I won't be able to play tonight, but I should be up for some online play tomorrow. I've got a friend coming over tomorrow, so I'll probably have a guest with me when I get on. I think we'll probably play some offline matches and get used to the levels and the gameplay as a whole first before going online.
Called today. Said it should be in my mailbox tomorrow.
Called who? And, if you mean FamilyVideo.com: what kind of shipping did you pay for?
I'm not sure how well known this is, but my roommate was able to play split screen with me using a ps2 controller and a ps2 to usb adapter.
Does anybody know if it can be played two players splitscreen online with one or two psn id? Sorry if it's already been asked.
Does anybody know if it can be played two players splitscreen online with one or two psn id? Sorry if it's already been asked.
From what I am reading, you can play to player splitscreen online BUT only in unranked games.
Does anybody know if it can be played two players splitscreen online with one or two psn id?
You can only use one PSN account online, sadly. I hope this changes for future online games, but I'm not sure if the way the account system is set up will allow it. Can you even do this on Xbox Live? (two gamertags online simultaneously)

I played for about 5 hours straight, I'm tired! But I had a good time, didn't have any connection issues. No freezing. I played split screen w/ a friend, and regular by myself. I'm satisfied with the game. However, the sounds from the microphone needs to be fixed, everything sounds so muffled that you can't understand anything that anyone is saying.
