In all seriousness, I have dumped far too much time/effort into getting rewards for some of these games to have the gravy train stop now. Can we all agree not to report each other over any alleged SAMing regardless of butthurt status?

No, I'm bitter. I've created over a dozen new playfire accounts so I can randomly report people several times a day.

 
Why can't I hold all these Steam achievements in my Playfire account?

I chuckled, but it wasn't me. I'm too lazy to report people, not to mention I don't even know Brut's Steam ID.

I'm actually curious who it was, though. Probably Drabe trying to frame me so he can come up with more clever one liners about me.

See, they should, but seeing how ridiculously swamped they are because of how shitty their system is and how there's a constant flood of tickets coming in over missing rewards, they can't.

Awhile ago, when I thought they were finally ironing out the constant problems (which they have somewhat, but not really), I hazarded a guess that they'd focus more on investigating and punishing SAM users. Fast forward awhile, and they're still having rewards problems all over the place (hell, just look at all the comments on every blog post full of people complaining about not getting credits). That said, their system is probably working a little bit better, so they're actually capable of looking at obvious shit like people getting achievements, yet not prerequisite achievements that they would have gotten beforehand. They don't have the manpower and time to hunt these offenders down yet, but when someone was reported for doing so, and then that someone put a ticket in (which probably makes them look at your account every time, or just brought Brut higher up the priority list to look at), then they're going to look closer and ban if the evidence is damning enough.

Moral of the story: Don't file a support ticket if you're a pierat.

oh well, not like I get any of their stupid reward credits anyway. I think I'll just go back to playing games I actually enjoy instead of the random crap Playfire wants me to play.

Is anyone else having trouble claiming the free copy of Rush Bros. for signing up with Playfire? I just got the email with a simple form to claim it, but it keeps sending me to some ineligibility page that tells me to try again. I've tried about five times now, and I give up. I hesitate to create a thread for it because it isn't even working for me!

But no I haven't played Lead and Gold. I've been tempted to buy it when on deep sale but there's noone playing it apparently.

FWIW I've suspect that my Playfire 'problems' since late March have actually been a shadow ban since I can't login or view my profile but GMG works just fine, very similar to Brut's experience.

Of course I can't imagine why someone would do such a thing since I never ruffle any feathers. :mrgreen:

Really though I haven't gotten into any major drama ninjasquirrel for some ninjasquirrel time now ninjasquirrel and there's really ninjasquirrel only one ninjasquirrel regular around ninjasquirrel who is still pissed ninjasquirrel at me AFAIK. Clearly in spite of jokes not everyone has been reported, it's just selective 'I don't like this person so I'll tattle to GMG and meanwhile myself and all my friends do it' sort of thing.

Oh and FWIW unlike plenty of others in this thread, while I've discussed the whole thing, I never actually personally admitted to doing it. At this point there's nothing to lose so yes I did it.

The funny thing is though, I actually spent a lot of effort to get my play time up in those game and look into all the achievements and make sure I got other ones that made sense (IE I don't just pick earn 10,000 gold and leave 5,000 gold unattained). I would actually go through the list of the most popular achievements sequentially and idle, then after some time get the most popular, then the next one down after some time, etc. But I would leave a couple out here and there to just not make it look like I totally went down the list in Steam's popularity order.

Point is, I went to ridiculous lengths to make it believable so I don't see how they could prove that I did it and were basically just taking the word or some random stranger on the internet. It's quite possible that someone could report someone innocent and get them banned too since they clearly seem to take action on reports from one person without any way to verify it.

*Edited to add: I suppose it could always be some European Socialist angry that I point out their fraudulent address purchases on the Amazon thread. Not like Tony or Josh give a damn.

Who knows, who cares? The main takeaway for me is that I just can't be bothered to mess with GMG support or to really buy from them now without the credit.

DFG has been playing a lot of L&G and apparently likes it a lot, but the only people still playing it are achievement whores.

I don't report people, and even if I did I'd be upfront about it. I don't use SAM and think it's crappy that others are using it to earn these rewards, but I'm not going to report them because honestly I don't care enough. You most likely aren't even going to read this, so feel free to continue thinking this is all some elaborate conspiracy of mine to get back at you for unfriending me, because I'm really that butthurt over a sarcastic comment that I'm not actively devoting my time to try and screw with you.

Weak, we finally get an XCOM sale and all the content I need is only 50% off??!!! I guess I'll get it anyway.  I'm tired of waiting and I've got to spend these credits on something...

I don't know if it counted for you guys who had BattleBlock Theater beta, but I unknowingly did 43% of the achievements during the beta and Playfire just counted them.
