I am not sure what point you are trying to make. Is it the intention of the service that makes it social or how I use it? If I am using it for only myself then how is it social? You seem to want to "catch" me by saying using a social service for non-social reasons means I must like social networking services. I like the fact they log my play time. If that is all Raptr did I would still be happy.
The fact you equate a forum about video games and an integrated social feature on a gaming system as equal shows your lack of critical thinking. So I guess CAG should start having games like Farmville and Cityville since gaming and social networking belong together right?
If you cannot get it through your thick skull that I prefer my game system provide the games and my social networks do whatever the hell they are supposed to do then I cannot help you. You think using a social network for games means I am hypocritical for not wanting a dedicated button on my controller to spew it out to the world? How about we start letting our credit cards have this feature? Why not right. Every time you swipe it posts what you bought and how much you spent (and if this exists then shoot me now). How about TVs that send out Facebook posts every time you set the DVR? Integrating social features into everything does not make it better and it is not what I want from my gaming experience.
The point I'm making is that you use gaming social networking services every single goddamned day, so yes, bitching about it makes you "hypocritical". Even if you don't have any real Raptr friends (which I also don't have), your playtime/Achievements get combined with everyone else's so the site can rank everyone against each other. You're feeding the system in the exact way it was designed to be fed. I'm not saying that you shouldn't use it if you get something out of it but seriously, bitching about having the
option to do the exact same thing you are currently doing willingly is "hypocritical" and silly. If you want to track your playtime without a social service, buy a

ing clock. Jesus christ.
If you don't think that being able to record ANY segment of gameplay from ANY game and immediately upload it from the console itself is an awesome feature then I don't know what to tell you. Plus this may mean that PSN will FINALLY get crosschat and private parties so I don't have to listen to mouthbreathers and shitty rap music every time I want to play online.
I'm more concerned with developers forcing me to use the front/rear touchpads unnecessarily like they did with Sixaxis on early

games. That will be far more intrusive than having to go to the system settings menu and switching some sharing features to "off".
