PlayStation 4 - General Discussion Thread

Something weird has been going on with my downloads. The game won't download in the background unless im in the game i want downloaded and even though my ps4 speed is 11mb, its dling like is at 2 mb. What gives

 
So I played a few levels of LBP with a friend and we encountered a couple of glitches. The first one the level didn't load properly at one point so we had to restart the whole thing. The second one is kind of hard to explain, sometimes our characters feet would sink into the ground or float above it while we walk. Its good and very much LBP, but the bugs kind of ruin the experience a little. Im really tired of all these games releasing with all this technical issues.

As for GTA, Im a little disappointed with the lack of foliage for the X1 version but Im going to stick with it at this point, I dont want to ruin my pre-order bonus certificate by returning it.

 
Well I deem this year to be the year of crappy quality control. I was into Dragon Age: Inquisition for about 30 minutes before I had a glitch that required me to kill the game and restart. I captured it and my daughter and I added what we thought was funny at this time of night. Here is the clip:

I asked when I picked up and the guy said it would void it. I know another member said it would work but I dont want to risk losing the certificate and then have to go through a big mission to get it back.

As long as you placed a preorder for the game, then pick it up during the week of release your good. I preordered Sunset Overdrive with my wife's debit card, but when I picked it up she wasn't with me. So they weren't going to let me get it. They just canceled the order and rang it up again and the.mI paid with cash. I received the Cert 5 days later.
 
Listen to these dudes, asspickle. Go get the superior version, your cert will be okay. Everytime you drive/walk through a grassless field on the Xbone you're gonna be like "damn, the PS4 version probably has a lot of grass in this area" and you'll regret it.

 
I'm liking WWE on ps4 so far. It looks really nice and the animations are pretty good. Online doesnt work yet but its pretty fun so far.

Oh and GTA in first person feels so good

Unless, of course, you bought it to play with friends that own an Xbox One. Or like the controller better.

I always hate when people nag me to buy X version when I bought Y version. I bought Y for a reason!

Expect here he clearly stated he wanted the PS4 version over the x1 but doesn't want to mess up his cert. Please dont try to make it about something it's not. Personally I was just trying to help him get what he wanted

He never had other then Sony stuff so he has no idea what it's like.
 
I got wwe on ps4 seeing it was only hulk version Amazon had for some reason and trading it in today for xbone version. So I can play with friends and the community of creatures is amazing on live.

um soeone was just talking about buying a game for a system you have friends that play it on and i was just stating at times it's what i do. i guess you should stay out of xbone forums seeing you never bring anything to those convo either see it can go both ways.

it's just ps fanboys trying to pump their chest once again. if i remember right red dead had same thing when it looked better on ps4 then 360. Who cares to be honest. All my friends are on xbone but hey i think i will buy it for ps4 just to have more grass.

I have a 360 still.

 
That is a noticeable difference between the Xbox One and PS4 GTA V. So I am assuming that developers are going to have to sacrifice some graphical features and special effect in order to reach 1080p on the Xbox One. The game still look good for both console though.

I knew when they announced that the Xbone was 1080p there was gonna be some cutbacks on that version, and I was right. The bone cant handle 1080p if not.

bone can't handle 1080 p ? come on man so much proof out there it can. check out halo master cheif collection and you will see xbone can have amazing looking games as well. :wall: for real you bashing xbone non stop gets old. i know you love sony but for once take off the blindfold and realize xbone is not bad like you would like to think.

MCC is a old gen game though, and Im not bashing im just stating my opinion.

 
I'll admittedly say I have a Xbox bias, I did buy the XB1 over the PS4, I just don't remember the graphics debate being such a major deal when the OG Xbox and 360 were both superior in that department.  Only thing that would keep from buying a game for a certain console would be exclusive content.

Honestly has there been a game this gen so far that ran like complete shit on XB1 and smooth of PS4?  1080p debates aside.

so your stating a opinion that has been proven false with forza 5 call of duty advance warfare/ mcc is still 1080 p old game or not. alien isolation as 1080 p far cry 4 is 1080 p. i can keep listing but will stop with those.

I completely understand what you are saying, and my choice in PS4 had nothing to do with graphics. No there hasn't been a game to run like crap on one or the other and the other has run better. But just based on hardware alone, nothing else. PS4 has a slight leg up, so games can slightly run better. That is all. To me it's not a hige deal, but when someone is just basing their decision on which console on graphics and one that runs better, it makes a difference to them.

To me it's not a huge deal that GTA has more foliage on PS4 then Xbox, it's cool and looks nice but not a deal breaker. But it's there.

 
i could never understand people that are all about 1080 p why they don't spend maybe extra 200 bucks and get a gaming pc. I mostly game on console because it's almost always play and go and not updating drivers for every new game and never really think about what system a game looks best on.

The only really big noticeable difference that I have noticed between the two console is that The PS4 UI is faster than the Xbox One. Installing and downloading games on the PS4 is much more quicker, you can play your game much faster on the PS4 than the Xbox one.

I also prefer the PS4 UI while navigating through my stuff too. Navigating through the Xbox one UI is just a mess with a controller.

It clearly has issues running more games at 1080p. Dragon Age and Lords of the Fallen come to mind.

Installs are lightning on the PS4. I love it. PS4 UI gets a lot of hate but once they get they library mess sorted I think it will be the best one out.

it was a mess at launch now it's much better i enjoy x1 ui alot ps4 seems like it's a clogged mess all on one screen. i agree it's kind of annoying how long it takes to install games on xbox one.

As far as the PS3, only argument made was the exclusives look better(specifically Naughty Dog games).

It happened all the time last gen (not sure w ps2/xbox). It seemed like so many third party games had to be compared, and almost always in favor of the 360.

The only thing new about this is the PS4 winning out graphically.
