Well to play devil's advocate I can understand where Turk is coming from a little. I think he's coming from a position where he's just simply disappointed in the offerings from the PS4. The only thing I'll add is that I think it's more fair to frame the disappointment at the current console generation across the board rather than solely at PlayStation. I think you can extend the argument towards the Xbone.
Going back to the PS4 offering, the only platform exclusives so far that are of note is inFamous: SS and the Order (to a much lesser extent as it didn't quite wow me). Games like Killzone and Knack I think we can all agree were more good for passing the time than amazing. Don't get me started on DriveClub. To the many, forgettable titles. Yes, I'm fully aware there are quality indie titles to not ignore like Resogun. The inherent problem with these games is the lack of a publisher makes it really hard to properly market them to the general audience. When I shop at Best Buy or Gamestop, there was plenty of opportunities to push for my preorder and hype of games like The Order and such. I didn't pay much attention to Resogun until my friend played it in front of me. If it wasn't for him, I probably would have ignored it completely. So to be fair, I think there are some other quality games on the PS4 as well, they're just not marketed as well.
As for the remasters, from a hardcore gamer's perspective, it's not common for people to replay games that they enjoyed years ago. Yes, there are plenty of people that don't mind playing classics but typically once you're done with a game - you're done. When I transitioned to the PS3 I all but nearly abandoned the PS2. When I transitioned to the PS4, I kept my PS3 around because I liked it better as a Blu Ray player with my remote. I don't like to game on classics since I'm content with having played through them the first time they came out already. I'll admit I've made an exception for games like TLoU which I think it's MP has been absolutely fantastic the second time around so it's essentially become a second lease on life for a gamer like me as it's become my "main" now for a long time.
But going back to my original point is I think there just seems to be so many remasters (DMC, TR, TLoU, GTA, etc.) and cross gen titles that it almost gives off this false image of dilution of quality games compared to strictly PS4 exclusives. I think to some folks like Turk, it just seems like all the great games that are available aren't necessarily needed for the PS4. Hence the "wasteful" comment. But again, I think you can extend this to the entire console generation really.
