I haven't really used magazines for gaming info since the 90s. I fondly remember PC Gamer magazine (I didn't have a PlayStation back then unfortunately) and those demo discs were worth it before broadband internet existed. We are spoiled for choice with better access to high speed internet and the rise in popularity of gaming as the "gamer" generations have aged to replace the adults of the 90s. There are countless websites, social media accounts, Youtubers and message boards like this one for gaming news and reviews.

I tried to get back into EGM when they relaunched. It just is not the same anymore. The nostalgia I have for those 250-300 page monster sized EGM magazines from back in the day is strong though.

This is where people whom don't play or support Destiny pretend to care. with little understanding of the situation that has been brewing for several years now.

It's a terminal meltdown example of the service-games industry as a whole. and the currently-failing console manufacturers, and the bloated, fat cat executive corporate structure.
Sony is really ruing the day 'live service' ever crossed their lips.

Wonder how GameStop will be able to pitch PUR now that value has been (arguably) lost. We know damn well they won't be able to lower the cost of the sub so this will only serve to piss people off further. We're now in an age where nothing is too big to fail anymore.

Heads up if you have Dell rewards: Dell has the Horizon PSVR2 bundle price matched with other retailers. $400 for the bundle is such a sweet deal. Using free points on it would make it just that much sweeter
The price went back up to $599.99 at Dell. ARP rewards reset tomorrow night, so I didn’t buy yet, and it looks like I won’t now, unless they lower it back down. May just use points on another controller this month.

I hear Dell does price match. Don’t know if they will honor Sony direct. Could be worth asking
Yeah, it’s worth a shot. Not sure who they will price match. Amazon and Walmart are both currently sold out and don’t show the price, so those won’t work, but in addition to Sony, Target is still showing the right price and availability.

I almost pulled the trigger on that PSVR 2 but decided against it. My only prior experience with something like this was the PS Move on PS3. It was cool for playing with family/friends if the right situation presented itself (disc golf and archery) but mostly just sat and collected dust. I understand VR is a different beast than the PS Move but the cost is still too much to justify for my use case at $350 not even factoring in the cost of games. The fact that the old PS VR library is not compatible with VR2 hurts the value as well. SONY could have at least leveraged its existing back catalog of games to give people more things to play while waiting on the newer stuff to get released.

There are still not enough MUST PLAY games in VR2 and I think that once the novelty of VR wears off I would get bored by the gameplay. If I was a huge Gran Turismo guy then maybe I could justify it if I played daily in VR mode (caveat being the battery life of the controllers is around 5 hrs and can't be used while charging). The PC Adapter does admittedly open up the library to Steam games and I hear Half-life Alyx is worth playing.

Good job Frisky!

I’ve been playing the game myself all weekend (on Xbox) and wondering why so many 5 star reviews. It’s just because people missed college football, the game plays largely like Madden in my opinion.

Oh, and stop changing my uniforms and playbooks in Ultimate Team! Drives me bonkers.

Any current playstation plus deals at the moment?

Any way to reset a password on a CAG account? Rejecting the password on my main for some reason

Thanks.

My exact issue, I researched PSVR 2 games for awhile and nothing jumped out as a must play. And it not being fully backwards compatible with PSVR 1 games was also a big factor.

My fat PS5 from last Summer came with an "A" controller. I also have a Galactic Purple and Gray Camouflage that are "A" revisions. My Cobalt Blue is a "B". All purchased last year when they were $50.

So you’re saying any new dualsense has the improved battery life?
No, just that it's a normal iteration that for whatever reason, one site had some text on it claiming some false info that wasn't on any other retailer's site or even their own. There's been three or four notable iterations of the DualSense so far that have minor changes in them.

I wish they'd come up with one that'd last longer. I'd honestly almost rather just go back to rechargeable aa batteries.
This is the only thing I like about my Xbox over my PS. I have 8 eneloops charged at all times and 8 others in controllers and it's a 30 second process to have the controller say fully charged and have the dead ones on the charger

I have at least 6 remotes for my ps3s and vita tv vs 8+ for the 1 ps4. I typically don't even have to switch remote for the ps3 unless I am doing an all day/night session (I don't game like that much these days though) or just haven't charged it since a previous session. whereas I usually have to use 2 ps4 remote per session of whatever I play. And that's ignoring I bought a few new a year or two ago. So my launch remote died it charges but wont turn on. so I only have the pro remote with the 2 light bars then an assortment of the various colored remotes. Hmm come to think of it I feel like ones missing. ... I'm definitely partial to the blue see-through one Sony did for the anniversary sales milestone whatever.

Sony added 4 additional games to the last chance to play section for PS+ Extra and Premium. These titles are now slated to leave on August 20th:
  • Sea of Stars
  • Moving Out 2
  • Lost Judgement
  • Midnight Fight Express
I played through Sea of Stars and liked it a lot. Hopefully there is some sort of deal on it when the DLC comes out, but it probably means I'll just end up not buying the DLC.

I figured sea of stars was going to leave soon. I gotta get back to that one. Might just buy it physically though.
