[IMG-R=5198]8135[/IMG-R]Get a $10 video game credit when you pre-order any version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The game also qualifies for release date delivery, which is free with Amazon Prime. Combine this with the ECA 10% discount and/or Amazon's 50% off trading promotion and suddenly that Prestige Edition doesn't seem so scary anymore.
Can Amazon promotion credit be applied to preorders if the credit expires prior to the release/ ship date of the game?
Yes, I just used my ODST promo on AC2.

why is this thread still up? this deal has ended for a while now and i thought dead deals go to the 'deal graveyard?' or am i missing something here, because whenever a deal becomes dead, it's usually removed from the deals page immediately.

We all like to talk about what we are going to do with our $10 credit when we get it.
I remember reading multiple posts about people not being able to combine the $30 off code with specific game codes. For example, it wouldn't let people apply the $30 off code and the $10 off wii sports code. I don't know about the ODST codes ($10 off future game codes), but they probably do not work with the $30 codes.

I got freakin 5 codes to work with buying ODST, but I didn't try a game specific code and the $30 code. I used 2 ECA codes, a $30 code, automatically gave $10 code off future purchase, and also the $5 twitter code off future purchase. If I still had my $10 code from preordering GH5, i don't think it would have worked with the $30 code.
If I had known this I would have used the $30 on ODST and the $15 on MW2. I sent them a reply to the email. Im still pretty pissed that they told me I could give the code away to a friend or neighbor. Dont they know Im a cheap ass gamer?

I'm constantly refreshing the MW2 page on Amazon to see if the $10 offer is back every hour or so haha :( . I was hesitating the last day if I should order it or not and now it's gone -__-

I have a question
on the amazon website, it says that the 50% coupon deal was only valid in August
Is the deal still going on, could I trade in 50 worth of video games and get the coupon?
Am I alone or is there anyone else that keeps clicking on this thread hoping that the $10 credit has come back because it keeps getting bumped. I'm not mad, just jealous.
lol, me too. I have about $20 in amazon credit coming within the next few weeks and I want to use it on MW2. At the same time, I might wait 2 weeks after its release date in hope that there is a black friday deal where its $50 or less so I wouldnt feel bad if I get it for $59 - $20 amazon credit.

I wouldn't hold my breath on finding it much cheaper even on black friday. This game is going to be HUGE, I really doubt it if even toysrus has a GC deal with it. You would probably be better off going with amazon and getting eca and tax free.

I keep waiting for the $10 to suddenly show up again. I guess I'll wait until Amazon has it on sale by a couple bucks the week or two after it releases and get it then. I have finals exactly one week after this comes out, so I probably shouldn't get it at release anyway...

About time Amazon did something, this will push me to pre-order from them. I was wondering who was going to offer the best pre-order incentive. GameStop doesn't have anything other than a theme last time I was told.

About time? You really must not check these boards often or check Amazon prices, cause they have had amazing deals for months.

Considering i'm an Amazon Marketplace seller and frequent buyer. I'm there often enough and had jumped on several deals. But MW2 has been the title where there has not been a promo that stuck. Batman and Madden did however until their release.

You just answered your own question.

P.S. Are you serious? I mean really.

Sooo, I had posted earlier about trying to get amazon to apply my ODST credit to MW2 so I would not lose the $10 GC, and amazon just adjusted the price of the game, now it is telling me that my grand total is negative $15. I was just wondering if this $15 will be applied to my account as a credit after the game ships? I plan on using it, plus the $10 promotion to pay for L4D2 so I dont mind not having the 15 bucks untill then.

Item(s) Subtotal:$44.99
Shipping & Handling:$5.98
Promotion Applied $30.00
Total Before Tax:$20.97
Estimated Tax:$0.00Gift
Certificate/Card Amount:$35.97

Grand Total:$-15.00

They should put the remaining balance in your account as a form of a gift certificate code that you enter. That's what they did when I returned AA.

Sounds good to me. Thanks.

I overpaid the before using credit and then having the game's price drop. They just issued the credit back to my account about a day after the game shipped.

I've seen some people posting elsewhere that they thought Amazon canceled the $10 off a future preorder promotion they were offering a few weeks back for everyone who preordered. I e-mailed Amazon and asked them about it and this is what they responded with:
Hello from Amazon.com.

As indicated in the online description of the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" offer, the promotional code will be placed directly into your Amazon.com account within 2 business days after the product ships.

If your order meets all of the offer's terms and conditions, you should be receiving your promotional certificate by November 13, 2009.

If you have not received your certificate by this date, please let us know by filling out the e-mail form on this page:

Thanks for shopping at Amazon.com.

Indeed it is! I just pre-ordered the PC version for same day shipping and ECA discount - the discount basically covers same day shipping; I'd rather give my $ to Amazon than GS.

I had 2 preorders with them for this game and when i noticed the $10 credit is gone i asked them about it. They said its not gonna be applied instead they dropped my preorder price $10 :)

I'm going to wait and see if the goggles are worth a shot before I buy them.

Am I the only one that can't see a price or a way to buy the Prestige Edition?

with this coming back, this + ECA seems to be the best you can do right now, right?

edit - someone mentioned gold box/quick picks, but that can't happen for a pre-order, right?

It's sold out b/c they only made a limited quantity. So looks like you're not getting em on Amazon even if you wanted to, lol

most excellent. in for the hardened version. i was really hoping they would bring back the $10 credit after missing out the first time. wooooowe, can't wait until november )

ya i'm very happy that it's back too. now i can cancel my existing modern warfare 2 pre-order and re-order it with the halo 3 odst $10 credit...

I really hope Hardened Edition shows up for me too. I plan to use my $15 ODST credit on it, and then can use my $10 MW2 credit on Dragon Age CE.

Sweet, thanks amazon for bringing the $10 GC offer back for this game and for extending it to all versions and existing pre-orders. After coupons and GCs, I got the prestige down to $22. Not sure what I'll apply the $10 GC to yet, but I'm getting so much more from my dollar out of Amazon this holiday, I'm already giving them retailer/etailer of the year...probably deal(s) of the year too.

Awesome, I'm glad they brought it back. I had recently ordered it with my Halo ODST credit, but it looks like now I'll be getting some of that back!

Cost me only $12.97 and that's with release day shipping.
