This comment on 411mania regarding the New Day-Cesaro/Kidd match is possibly the best comment ever

Finally, a case of mistaken identity goes in a black man's favor in Baltimore.

Stardust-Truth can fuck off. Axelmania and Mandow is such a horrible team. It's like a low-budget indy doing the lowest-budget impression of Hogan and Savage. Sheamus-Dolph was good-ish at times, but really hurt by the commentary. Blood was something different though. Tag title match was a lot of fun. Ryback vs. Bray sucked. Cena vs. Rusev sucked a bit less, but wasn't good. Ditto the divas tag match. Neville-Barrett wasn't much. Main event was easily the best match on the show. Sure, Seth winning with the pedigree, and a bad one, wasn't good in theory - but it sets up the future well. They've been teasing Seth vs. HHH and it's now clear that's the plan for Summerslam.

I used to have a friend who claimed his uncle was the Blue Blazer. I always told him he was a liar, and then when I found out Owen Hart was the Blue Blazer I asked the friend why he said the Blue Blazer, a relative no body, was his uncle and not say that tag team champion Bret Hart was his uncle. He had no response.

Your cousin is wrong. Payback's been scheduled for months - http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/540473-wwe-2015-ppv-calander - and the snowstorm cancelled Raw in Hartford and moved the Smackdown taping in Boston to a live broadcast later in that week.

They spent 15 minutes to set up Ryback-Sheamus, but in the process, made sure to talk about how weak Bryan was and how they'd be putting the title on the line in a match that shortens careers right after talking about Bryan having his career shortened. Ryback vs. Sheamus was something else. The press slam to Sheamus on the floor was nasty, and they're really prepping Ryback up for the IC Title by having him lose two straight.  Barrett-Neville really got Bo over. The other guys were in fact there. Loved everything with the Lana-Rusev deal - her accent slipped with every other word, and Rusev was hilarious.

New Day vs. CK was good, but wasn't given time to be more. At least the tag title chamber guys are known now. Holy crap was everything involving Owens and Cena perfect - they made that man tonight. The Dolph-Lana stuff was unexpected to some degree, but telegraphed fairly well by having Rusev already in the IC Chamber. Harper and Rowan squash was a thing. Ditto Naomi-Nikki. LOVE CENA-OWENS AT EC! That should be fantastic. The Seth love-fest was great until the goofy cinder blocks. I'm all for Dean getting a main event push - even a surface-level one is better than being on the mid-card treadmill.

I love Rollins vs Ambrose. Last year I was hoping that they'd be having all of those great matches for the World Title and now they're pulling the trigger... At an add-on PPV that's exclusive to the WWE Network.

I'll take it!

NXT Takeover: Unstoppable has been excellent thus far! (Enzo and Cass are hopefully about to win the tag straps currently).

Just happened to see on reddit via Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that Destination America is apparently cancelling TNA effective around the end of September. If this is true, I think this may be the final nail in the coffin for TNA. Really sucks, I've been a TNA since day one of the original weekly PPV shows, but have definitely watched infrequently the last couple of years. If this is true I hope a lot of the guys on the roster are able to continue working in the business and make a living doing it. TNA has a lot of great talent and it would be a shame to see some of these guys and gals go unnoticed.

Anyway, do you guys think any other networks would pick up iMPACT Wrestling at this point?

If the ratings aren't good enough for a channel that thrives on "watch hillbillies grill bullshit at the county fair" as its main content, I can't see anyone picking them up.

Moreover, if the rumors of the financial problems plaguing the company are true, it's a sensible time to cut losses (i.e., if you're not paying talent, it's time to go). TNA was always hit or miss, but rarely must-see pro wrestling.

Make way for better cable clearance for ROH, NJPW, and GFW. Let the TNA guys work those three and see the ironic resurgence of a territory system.

And let's be honest: NXT is so fucking great as a program that I don't even think it's a "step down" compared to Raw and Smackown. The day Balor, Owens, Itami etc move on up to those shows, I know I'll be disappointed (but happy for their pocketbooks).

Joe is *perfect* for NXT.

EDIT: Dangit, his shirt is already sold out in my size. :(

I'm really surprised that they're letting Joe keep his name Samoa Joe. Although, given that he's older than Randy Orton it would be really silly to call him anything else at this point. It will be interesting to see how he's used. I really thought he'd be part of Roman Reign's stable as his "cousin", but we'll see what he does in NXT.

Personally I think this has become TNA's last gasp for survival. I had a feeling when they moved to a network that many cable systems don't carry or it's on a package tier that many people don't have that was a huge sign that TNA was doomed. Heck I rarely if ever see any mentions of TNA at all on Twitter these days. I mean you know it's a bad sign when I see fourth division PDL soccer games trending more than TNA.

I feel the same way, Destination America only pro-longed the agony for the dying promotion. TNA had a great run especially the first 5 years, some classic matches came out of the promotion including the fantastic triple threat match between Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Christopher Daniels. It's only fitting that those three man have now all since left the promotion as the three of them would most definitely be a part of TNA's Mount Rushmore. I think the best case scenario and I really doubt this will happen, but it would be great if WWE bought the rights to the brand and the tape library. All the TNA footage for guys like Joe, Sting, Xaiver Woods, and anyone else who they bring in from TNA would be great to have and with the network they could throw up some TNA content as well, I'd especially like to go back and watch the weekly PPV shows again.

I don't think WWE should try and raid the roster as they simply just don't have room for all the talent right now, but I would love them to pick up a guy like Bobby Roode or James Storm.

I have never been a fan of women's wrestling. With that said, NXT womens matches always impress me. In fact NXT Divas division consistently puts on much better matches than WWE men do. Thats a bad thing for WWE. Whatever WWE is doing to keep their main roster from having matches that are fun to watch has to stop. NXT is proof that they can still do that every time I watch their specials. There is no reason Raw cannot have the crap that brings in the mainstream viewers, and still keep the good wrestling action.

Also, am I the only one who is almost positive that Charlotte is actually Dee Snider? I am fairly certain at this point...

I actually can see the WWE getting TNA's tape library if it's cheap enough. Especially for content involving either people coming into the WWE (ie: Samoa Joe) or had been in (ie: Hardy Boys, Angle). Still TNA has nobody to blame but themselves for the mess they are in now. They had so many chances to get things right yet failed so often that the only thing shocking at this point is how they managed to make it to the year 2015. TNA indeed had become the K-Mart of wrestling where you go each year "okay this is the year they finally go out" but somehow manage to survive the year somehow despite managing to fumble up the entire year making you wonder if there isn't a ton of drug dealing going on that's funneling money to keep TNA alive.

The moment TNA brought in Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff to run the show was the moment TNA lost any momentum they had. They hyped up the debuts and move to Monday Night's and the first show did great ratings wise for TNA and Spike TV, but the show itself was a mess. No one wanted to see Orlando Jordan's bi-sexual gimmick, no one wanted to see the Immortal faction (New Blood 2.0), no one wanted a heel Jeff Hardy, and no one wanted to see Hogan and Bischoff run the show! The only good thing that came out of that time period was the debut of The Pope and Nigel McGuinness, both guys went no where though.

The most logical thing for TNA would be to sell eveything to WWE as they could utilize the tape library and name better than anyone else. Otherwise TNA will become an interesting foot note in wrestling history.

I liked nearly every match for NXT Takeover. The only match I wasn't into was the women's tag match. The rest were really great matches though. And I really dug the last match as well, not a huge Samoa Joe fan though, but it was still pretty cool.

Well, if they do eventually file for bankruptcy, WWE could acquire the tape library through bankruptcy court.

As if the Destination America probably canceling the show wasn't bad enough. Eric Bischoff & Garrett Bischoff are sueing TNA for over $100,000. Eric's part is due to his executive producer role(where TNA paying him $426,800 a year(WTF?)), while Garrett is sueing for unpaid compensation as talent.

Wasn't someone on here a few months ago talking about what a great program/promotion TNA was?

Brak?

While I have repeatedly expressed my enjoyment of how Impact has played out over the past 9 months, TNA has always been pretty atrocious on the business side of things.

And who the hell is Brak? We should get Dick Tracy on the case.

The little bit I have seen of the product since the move to Destination America certainly hasn't been bad, but I don't get the channel so I don't usually keep up with TNA like I used to, it's even harder too since they tape so much TV at once, I'll read the spoilers for several months of episodes and then forget about half the storylines and feuds.

TNA just released an official statement though denying the cancellation rumors. They of course don't out and say they aren't getting the ax, but that the statement released by Meltzer is false and that they will pursue legal action if they have to.

It really is inevitable at this point despite what statements TNA releases that the company is not doing well and hasn't been for awhile. The fact that they try to hide this all the while they have lost a huge bulk of their mainstay talent over the last couple of years with guys like Joe, Styles, and Daniels leaving. The roster is still great and they can definitely put on a good show, but that isn't going to save them at this point.

Weren't they pulling that same crap somewhat last year?  Where they were denying that Spike cancelled them months before they officially said it was cancelled.  Only difference this time is that they are threatening lawyers for the rumors(they have money for lawyers, but have trouble paying actual employees?).

No wonder that a few are wanting on Jeff Jarrett's GFW roster.  Tyrus/Brodus Clay is already on that roster.  Plus at least Jarrett is promising live events this summer.  Unlike TNA, who kept telling talent for months of live events that never happen.

I mean, in all of this, they've sold at least one ticket. They have a "house show" in York, PA in September. Assuming I'm in town (August and September are hella travel busy months for me), I'll go to what is in all probability their last show.

:)

Finally got around to watching NXT: Takeover Unstoppable. Man, that Becky Lynch-Sasha Banks match was so fucking good. Though by now I almost feel like I'll never like Baron Corbin unless he gets rebranded as Big Bo and him and Bo Dallas become a tag team.

And Samoa Joe's new theme sounds like music Donkey Kong plays when he has sex. Which I find pretty awesome.

Cannot unhear.

And yeah, that Lynch/Banks match is one of the best matches WWE has had so far as I can remember.

My only complaint is that Devitt's adaptation to the WWE ring style as Balor is sorta simple. It's basically doublefoot stomp, doublefoot stomp, dropkick, doublefoot stomp doublefoot stomp, entrance, doublefoot stomp. I realize that him using Bloody Sunday is impossible, but, man, just add that corkscrew kick to change things up a little. Maybe even a doubleknee gutbuster and a variant in big matches. He's become the John Cena of NXT.

Owen Hart DVD/HOF News (Via 411mania.com)

As previously reported, WWE has been working on an Owen Hart Blu-Ray/DVD set. While Martha Hart spoke out strongly against it once she found out, she would be the one to get any royalties when it gets released. WWE has full legal rights to produce and release any such video set, as they own the footage. WWE also did not tell Martha ahead of time when they did the set on the Hart Family, which featured Owen.

The WON reports that there has also been discussion about inducting Owen into the WWE Hall of Fame next year. It is very unlikely that Martha Hart would support an induction. WWE could still do the induction without her blessing, but they may end up feeling as if its not worth the controversy it would cause.

Making his NXT debut next week:

The Memorial Day stuff peaked with the bell tolling, as the video was way too contrived to really feel genuine. Opening tag went on forever and Dean beat Seth, so he's doomed. Dean's fuckup with the camera guy was amusing. Loved the Owens video. Could do without Rusev losing all the cool Russian-themed stuff. LOVED their wacky makeup-breakup bit.

Everything involving the Entourage cast can fuck off. Ditto Stardust-Neville, and Bo-Neville too. Neville could've come off as a legit guy in the IC Chamber even with a loss, but instead, he'll beat Bo fucking Dallas in a nothing match. Cena-Ryder was okay, but a great showcase for Owens afterwards. His new gear rules. Paige-Tamina was awful thanks to Tamina, who won - so I guess Paige wins the title at EC. New Day vs. 10 PEOPLE was stupid and basically made them faces by default. I loved the visual of Dean in the cop getup coming out in the paddy wagon. He really does come off as something special when he's given the chance to.
