Did anyone pick up Corpse Party: Blood drive? I was at best buy and saw a few copies there. Looks interesting. If it was cheaper I would had picked it up.

I just opened my copy from amazon. It's the 3rd and final in the series, with the first 2 being psp games. The story sort of continues through all 3, so you might not enjoy it as much if you're jumping in during the middle and don't know what's going on (the first 2 are on sale if you can get in before the ps store update). But the price is justified...it's a great collector's edition that sort of serves as a collectors edition for all 3 games (the 76 song soundtrack and art book both cover all 3 games).

I think I'm going to return all my Target games except Minecraft and DoA (already had the Ninja Gaidens), possibly Legi Chima. Got SFxT on PS+ and nothing else looks fun. DHA, the show, Angry Birds SW, any of these worth playing?
Angry Birds SW is fun enough if you like Angry Birds...but the vita version kind of sucks due to things being a bit too small and all of the control options they tried to shoehorn in (using the buttons, sticks, and both touchscreens...meaning occasionally doing things you didn't mean to because you bumped the back touchscreen, etc)

My Target is down to 4x Angry Birds SW, 2x Lumines, and 1x Call of Duty.

I've read that Chima is the worst Lego game and Angry Birds SW is much better on phone/tablet than Vita.

I would keep the rest. Maybe ditch MLB 15 and pick up MLB 14 from BB for $6.99/5.59 to get physical over digital.
If you can grab that call of duty from target, pm me a offer and we can work something out. I have to rebuilt my vita games up again since we had a problem where I stay

For those watching for deals on Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters, it's down to $21.52 on Amazon (sold by Amazon too) and used it's dropped to $19.99 at Gamestop.  I know it's the kind of strategy game I'll actually enjoy but I wanted to wait for the price to drop some.

Really? From everything I've read and seen/heard on YouTube, Chima is one of the best portable LEGO games.

Stopped in a local target today and scored Tearaway for $11.xx and an 8GB memory card for $10.xx.

Oddly the only other vita clearance stuff were two more copies of Tearaway and 1 Walking Dead. I even asked to do an inventory check for more memory cards, they weren't even in the system.

What was the price on WD and which one was it? Never saw those anywhere here.

I just picked up a copy of Corpse Party from Best Buy. Not deal-related, but definitely Vita-related. (paid full price for it) This time of year I just have a taste for the macabre.

So will the Vita games disappear at Target before all reach 75% off? Saw Killzone on Saturday at 50% off along with a bunch of other games at 50-75% off and now all the Vita games are gone. We're talking like 20 plus games (KZ, CoD, Dungeon Hunter, & a few other SKU's.)

Was trying to sweat 1 more drop on KZ since I have the digital version but it looks like I missed my chance.

Might want to check your local Goodwill, sometimes the clearance games end up there.

Probably had lazy crew that didn't mark them down yet. 70% had been loaded for a few weeks but won't reflect unless the employee marks it down with their gun.

lol, the goodwill where I'm at will ignore what target had it clearance at and will mark it back up to almost full retail. fuck them.

One other possibility others aren't pointing out is maybe one person scooped them all up. It's possible someone was waiting for the 70% to hit and grabbed them all if they finally dropped, or they happened upon them at 50% and decided that was good enough... A lot can happen in 3 days.

Arrietta is pretty annoying. In fact, I'm a bit taken aback by how annoying the villains are. Then there's Luke kicking the Mieu cheagle around in every other cutscene and I'm just waiting for Tear to be like, "Luke stop hurting the cutie." Then everyone gives her blank stares. That doesn't quite happen in the game does it?
too be fair he was an arsonist little bastard so I'm okay with the mieu abuse. I think the most hilarious thing was the mieu wings scene. Jade's comment was perfectly timed. "He'll be better off for it in the end and come out a inch or two taller." or something like that xD

I think Jade is the only major character I actually liked in the game. Largo was a respectable adversary at least.
I liked Jade but I also liked Luke. Was somewhat refreshing to play a different type of character in a JRPG. I know thats the minority opinion, but I liked his journey and growth.

Thanks for the answers on Lego Chima guys. I may just give it to my niece or something, im really not interested in playing it. Though i guess it would be nice to just keep it for my collection for the hell of it. I guess i'll just ask her if she wants it.

No, I plan on living much longer. But digital storefronts are something I actually work with, and while I'm not in the gaming industry, I'm not worried about Sony pulling the plug.

As for this idea that they'll just pull the plug on legacy systems, read above. It just doesn't make any sense. Point to the xbox all you want - -that's an odd case, early in the digital revolution. It is not viewed as the blueprint for how to move forward, it's viewed as something to avoid -- the major digital players want people to gain faith in going digital, not lose faith.

Those same servers that serve PS3 and PSP files serve PS4 files. There is no reason for them to 'poof' them. None at all.

But it's clear I'm in a thread centered on physical collecting, so whatever. like I said, I prefer vinyl to mp3s so I do understand where you're all coming from. But the fear, at this point, is misplaced. it's like worrying about disc rot -- sure, that used to be a thing. And I'm sure, given enough time, it will be a thing again. But it's not worth worrying about, and neither is Sony pulling the plug on 'legacy' digital content.

No, I play plenty of older games. I grew up with Intellivsion, Atari, and Apple II+/gs/etc. I re-played Bard's Tale just recently. Most of the games I played are so archaic as to be nearly, if not entirely, unplayable at this point -- that intellivision controller, man. I just don't fear the problems you do, just like it doesn't bother me that all the 5.25 and 3.5 diskettes I own/owned are useless to me now, even thought they are 'physical'. Times change. If I want to play those games I can either re-buy them on GOG (digitally, lol, oh the irony) or not play them.

Likewise, I'm not worried about my collection in 20 years, let alone 30. Heck, I sold off all my 80's pc stuff last year for a small fortune (seriously) and rebought the stuff I cared about for pennies on gog. I figure I'll likely do the same in 20 years....

Heck, fred meyers now sells segas, intellivisions, and such fully loaded with games now. No cartridges, just plug and play. For $60 or so I can relive my childhood, easier, with HDMI and never dealing with decades of storing the original equipment that would be a headache to get to work on a modern tv anyway. And that's not even getting into emu and mame and all the other options we have out there, which will only continue to grow.

So... yeah. I love old games. But if anything, they're just more evidence to me that I really, truly, don't need to worry about my digital collection. Odds are, in 30 years there will be a better way to play them anyway, just like I prefer to play my PSP games on my vita. Heck, I prefer playing the old genesis games I loved on my vita too. Times change. Worrying about some awful future where Sony decides to stop serving files on an extremely popular and profitable service just isn't worth it.

Shit, that disc rot. I actually had that on a few old CD based games. Sucks. And those knock off systems you mention are junk. They are not even remotely the same thing as the originals. They usually have bugs/problems and audio glitches or other issues. But yea im done discussing this too. Digital is just flat out not for me. The fact that it CAN just go *poof* Is more than enough to steer me away from it. That is never an issue with physical copies. You can say it wouldn't make sense as much as you want but companies do a lot of shit that doesn't make sense and the fact is it can (and i think probaly will) happen. Again; if people prefer digital thats fine, most of them wont care about playing these games 5 or 10 years down the line. I will take physical > digital every time, and just flat out pass on digital only most of the time on consoles. I only make exceptions for small indie games that cant really pulish physical, or stuff dirt cheap i have physical copies of

If you're content with those crappy knock off systems or emulators then thats cool. But as i said, im a collector. I much prefer playing it on the original system it was on with the original controller, ect. I still keep around my 32" Wega CRT for most of my older systems. Funny you mention Bards Tale btw. I have a mint in box copy of that on NES, lol.

Really did not find that to be a satisfying ending.

I actually rather enjoyed TOA though i haven't played it in years. God i hated that little girl with the attack bear though. Her character and story arc were Terrible. Jade was by far the coolest and i actually kinda liked Guy. First time the stereotypical 'im scared of girls' character had a GOOD REASON to have that phobia.

And im with you spidrmonkey. Luke grew on me as the series went on. Yea hes kinda a derp, but he did grow durring the story which i found refreshing

Too much discussion very little deals
PFFT go look at the steam deal thread. This is NOTHING. 15 pages of pony pics and spam to 1 deal

How can anyone not like Jade? He's awesome! Abyss will always be my favorite (4th playthrough of PS2 and 2nd on 3DS)

I think my Target (Rosemead,CA) doesn't have a Vita section any more. All I found was a copy if Tearaway (which I brought. Is it any good?) two weeks ago.

As for memory cards, can I just switch between them?

I have a PSTV as well as a Vita, so the strategy part shouldn't be a big deal. I could always play the Visual Novel parts on my Vita and if the strategy is too hard to see then move over to the PSTV and the big screen. It is kind of a weird design choice to not have a pinch & zoom or other option for Vita owners. At least, I'm assuming there's not a way to zoom in?

I checked this morning and Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters is now down to $20.93 on Amazon.

I've actually been tracking down a copy of this since I just got my Vita this weekend. Tearaway to me is the one really unique game to Vita that should be played on the Vita because of the controls and how the rear touch pad, camera, and other functions of the system are used. I think it's one of the must plays of the system because it was designed so specifically for it. Just watch a video review on youtube, if you like creativity in game design I think you'll be easily sold.

As for Target, the one I visited a week or so ago didn't have a Vita section at all. Not even any cases, memory cards or anything beyond the reduced games on the clearance shelf.

That's true I forgot about the fact that whole part was his fault. Prolly the reason Mieu just takes it...unless it's his fetish.

exactly. it was the cheapest one on ebay, so i just went for it.
It's actually a very nice LE set, especially for the original price of $30. Not sure if it's worth the going rate, but I've bought many LE items over the years at well over retail(double or even triple in some cases), so I feel your pain. LOL

The problem is that, with some games, they try to port the ps3 version directly, meaning they take a game designed to be read on a decent sized HD television and just shrink it to the vita's screen size and resolution, making everything way too tiny (*cough* Dead Nation *cough*). It's sort of the same effect as when I tried to play one of the Dead Space games on a 21" SD TV years back. All the log files were pretty much unreadable.

There's only so many deals out there, so what's wrong with a little discussion between them?
Because those discussions tend to become pointless arguments that clog the thread so when a deal is posted, it tends to get buried. People will say "oh, just scroll past it" but it gets way out of hand.

Pretty much all the Targets around my town have been picked clean of all the Vita clearance. The only ones I didn't get a chance to get that I wanted was Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 & Killzone, but oh well.

I spent a little extra on PSN last night, and picked up the first two Corpse Party entries before playing the recent Vita release. Perhaps even more surprisingly, I started actually playing the first Corpse Party. It's been fairly creepy so far, and I'm enjoying the experience. It's impressive how it is possible to make a decent horror game using the equivalent of 16-bit JRPG graphics.

I appreciate the warning. Not sure why I'm amped for this specific game. I think it was the demo stuff I watched showing how the tactics side worked and it just looked interesting on the strategy side. Having both sides predicting the other and moving at the same just seemed like such a fresh idea from other strategy games I've played where it's strictly back and fourth turn based. Maybe I'll wait for it to drop to $15 or something.

Ya...the 2nd one is more visual novel and point-and-click, so the graphics are more standard horror/anime fare...but even with Blood Drive, at first I was like "this Chibi style is too cute to be creepy"...but it really ends up working somehow.

I missed out on the Corpse Party sale last week and Amazon doesn't have the bundle in stock anymore. Does anyone know where else I can grab the two PSP games or am I out of luck? I'd like to pay less than $20 for each game on the PSN, but it seems like maybe the bundle was an Amazon exclusive.

Sadly, I think you may be out of luck. Corpse Party never got a physical release in the U.S., so the PSN copy is pretty much it. I paid the $20 a pop for the first two releases last night. It was a bit on the pricey side, no doubt there. But I was in the mood for some spooky gaming, and I didn't want to play Blood Drive without playing the first two games.

The way I see it, it's not as big a problem paying a little bit extra as long as I like the game.

They were on sale during the sale of the dead last year. If they have another one it will start this Tuesday and they will likely announce both weeks sales on Monday or Tuesday. So I would wait till at least Tuesday after the store update before buying them at full price.
