I genuinely like MGS2--it's in my Top 5 Games.
You have some amazingly weird and bad taste. I'm not exaggerating when I say MGS2 is the worst game I've ever played. The gameplay itself is nothing mindblowingly bad, and the story and dialogue are stupid but not horrific. The problem is the way the two were combined so that you can't play for more than a few minutes at a time without being kicked into long tirades of bullshit, and you can't just watch the movies and let the bullshit flow by without being pulled back into the crap gameplay on the rare occasion you get control.

I know you guys beat the dead horse on this not too long ago, but holy shit. What is up with all the free shit on the deals page?

EDIT: 9.0 KDR in Salvage. This is why you play with a fireteam. The rest of the team starts to quit when they suck and you're all alone.

so what your saying is...

10/10therms?

seriously though your playing a 10 year old game. Try playing shit in the era a game comes out before you call a game the worst you ever played. And I don't care either way. Mgs is not my kind of game.

To say you don't like it is one thing, but the worst game you've ever played? LOL.

Age really isn't the issue, though. I recently played Sly 1 and J&D 1 for the first time and they're the same age but were good games. My problems with MGS2 aren't of the "gameplay has come so far since this game came out" sort. It's that it was badly conceived and terribly executed. In what universe does it make sense, for example, to have a stealth game with shooting suddenly switch to an absolutely terribly-controlled sword fight for the last battle? That's not just an issue of the timing of the game's release--that's bad game design, period.

When you stream it also shows the person playing? Does it always do that? Or does Ninja just have a camera showing him/?
I'm the only person that uses a camera here as far as I know.

Btw, Ninja your voice doesn't match what I thought you sounded like. I blame the secret squirrel avi
I don't particularly care for my voice either, but I'm stuck with it so there's not much to do about it.

Also if you join one of my streams you should say something in chat.

Comparing gameplay of platformers and stealth games? Totally makes sense.
I said nothing remotely close to that.
Pretty much what you said in a nutshell.

Seriously though dude, I'm with simmias. It may be time for you to step back and think about how much you actually enjoy gaming. It seems like you're frustrated more often than you're having fun.

Damn. The Vamp Eyer trophy in MGS2 is either bugged or difficulty-dependent. I focused the camera on him for a good five seconds during the end scene and no trophy pop. :(

I just killed 3 guys with one punch in a game of salvage. Gonna try and upload the clip.

omg omg omg. Got a purple engram from a salvage match that we won 2v3 the whole time. Hell yeah.

fuck my life. I got blue gauntlets from it that are worse than what I have equipped.

I didn't mean anything bad by the voice comment, just that I thought you'd sound different. I pictured you sounding French for some reason

Not to sound stupid, which this will, but how do I do that? I just hit play on your video that you posted, I saw no chat room.

You need to actually click through to twitch (you can use the channel name in the top left corner of the video to go straight to the channel). The chat will be on the right.

I guess I will add the transparent chat back to the video too, so if people see the video without being on twitch they'll know what the heck I'm talking about.

Ah okay.

Next time someone streams Ill see if I can jump on the chat

A game having a lot of lore doesn't really have any bearing on the gameplay, though. Great if the world and characters are super-developed, but that doesn't mean that lore is integrated well into the game or improves rather than detracts from the gameplay itself. Obviously that's going to be a subjective judgement, but IMO the cut scenes and conversations that constantly interrupted the gameplay made the game not worth playing even disregarding the actual quality of those scenes and conversations (which was atrocious IMO.)

How is the MP in Shadowfall, btw? I've heard people talk badly about the campaign, but the DLC is all MP-focused, IIRC.

Also I'm not sure what the advantage of getting the $20 digital copy would be. IIRC it's been close to that physically and I doubt it'd be an even break on TIV.

Edit: Just noticed physical is the same price. Absolutely no benefit to switching out unless you hate disc loading or something.

Am I missing something? You said you wanted to go digital. I'm viewing it from my phone. It says it ships via prime. Is it a digital code? Looks like the physical game to me.
The link goes to the physical version, but if you look under "Platform" below the price there's also digital as an option.

I haven't played it. The advantage would be I could keep the disc drive free during the super long grind for platinum. Trade-in at Best Buy is $16 until the end of the day today. I'm going to trade it in.

Ok, so how much did the physical cost you originally? At the moment you are trading the game and 4 dollars to go digital.

I never even tried the MP. I wanted to initially but the campaign really annoyed me I wanted to trade it to BB as soon as I was done. I was really disappointed with this game. And I like most FPS games. Just didn't like this one at all.

If I actually wanted to keep it I would grab it digitally though. Nice having the games all installed on the HD. Most of my PS3 games are digital and it's pretty nice.

Remember when I used to be that guy who didn't like anything? I'm so glad Therm has taken the role. Now I can start talking about how much I like things.

My next comment is directed at no one in particular.

I fucking love MGS2. If you can say it's the worst game you've ever played, then you're a fucking retard.
