Always carry something. Rocks are great to set off arrow traps or to hit an enemy. Look down. Kind of obvious but after awhile you learn how far you can jump down without taking damage. Don't anger shopkeepers by stealing, until you get good at it or know how to handle it. You can make sacrifices on those alter looking things. I never got really good with the teleporter but if you do it looks like you can break the game. There was a speedrun of like 2 minutes or something nutty not that long ago. When you start out just try to make it out of the levels. When you get past a section I think 3 times you will start to get shortcuts to the later areas. Shotgun and jetpack combo is a great combination if you can get it. Conserve bombs unless you have a lot. Using 1 bomb for a chest is probably ok as the reward is usually greater. Saving a dame in the level gets you a heart back, but don't go out of your way if it looks like a pain to get her. Probably a ton more but that's a start.

THanks. I'm pretty comfortable with the game's basics, as I've raged-quit on it several times since right when it came out for the 360. But I'm still trying to get a grasp on what is and isn't worth using bombs and ropes. I'm getting the message from most people to just pick up money and stuff on the ground, don't really go bombing or searching for it.

What items do you recommend? Most people tell me cape, compass, shotgun (obvs). Are there others?

Just kill the first shopkeeper and then you get everything you need in the
black market

Well the teleporter but it takes practice, I never got the hang of it. There are some other items...I personally like the climbing gloves but some people don't like them because they can throw of how you land because you basically stick to everything. There is also a pick axe, seems rare to get it but you can use it to just cut through rock which obviously is pretty great. Jetpack and shotgun is the probably the best combo to obtain. I think it frustrates people that it really is random even with the luck of the draw in what items you end up with.

I had the pickaxe, Jay said that it breaks after a while though. I definitely liked it.

Yeah I know how to get to the black market, I was more "huh"-ing because he was acting like killing shopkeepers is easy. Then going to the black market after pissing off the shopkeeper because there are like 12 of them there and I would die in like 2 seconds.

Haha I actually went yesterday. I already have a white PS4 plus I don't really want what's in the box they sell, so I didn't really care about the promo.

I'm going to Cafe Rio today. Tamales are the Thursday special. They're pretty good. I may just end up with enchiladas though.

I was watching Tyler play yesterday. Every time he died, it made me want to play it less and less and he died a lot.

 
Does anyone know what the different Big Box choices are at Taco Bell? The only one I see on their website is the Quesartio one. The promotion says "any" big box so wondering if there are others.

 
Oh I'm so glad that Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is getting a hard mode and that it's required for platinum god. Because the game wasn't hard to begin with :shock:

Quit being so stupid, Tyler. Go to taco bell, drink some baja blast, win the ps4 and then you can start playing destiny again and trade the console for a sweet racing bike.

 
I just got back from Taco Bell.  They had several Big Boxes besides the Quesarito.  I went with the Quesarito as I like it.   I didnt really look at the others much but they looked like some kind of Dorito Gorditas.  Also they have some new drink Starburst Strawberry Freeze or something.

I didnt win though.  fuck TACO BELL!  Ill play again soon.

Have I played a lot of Japanese games lately? Absolutely. A friend sent me 18 of them in the mail to play and I am trying to get them done and sent back to him in between rentals from Gamefly.

At least when Jay gave me shit, he wasn't someone who also had played Hannah Montana, Terminator Salvation, Megamind, Sega Genesis collection, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, TWD and others for easy plat grabs just like I had.

also who is this friend that gave you 18 games to borrow? all of my friends just wanna come over and party, none of them even play video games, lol.

I turned down some work last night cuz i just wasn't feeling it. I felt like an ass because they were 'on their way' but we had been staying up late and just wanted a good night's sleep. fun fact - it was a chic from 'silver slipper ottawa il' that was gonna travel 4 hours to work/party with us. We have officially become (in)famous enough that we have strippers hitting us up and traveling to chill. That's a pretty nice compliment. and then we went and shot her down and told them to come back on the weekend.

Ironically, like you, it is one of my team mates from one of the trophy competitions :)

Full disclosure, I did pay for shipping (including a lot of insurance) and gave him a decent amount of PSN credit in return since those games hold their value at around $65 a piece since it is so difficult to get them here from Japan.

The red bull thing is real.  It was on the news this morning.  The site is crashing because they are basically giving away the money first come first serve I think.  There is a limited amount.  Its only a few million

Speaking of creepy, I do these Google surveys on my phone because they give you a little bit of credit towards the Play store. The last couple weeks they've sent me surveys that say something like "When was the last time you visited Olive Garden?" with a few dates on there. Both of the ones they sent me, I had been in that restaurant two days prior.

God damn Google.

 
Hopefully when Sony gets the PS+ version of Drive Club up they will glitch it and gives us the full game for free. Would be a fitting end to the story of DriveClub.

Glue and climbing gloves are musts. The baseball glove is useful too, but not essential. Really most items are useful, except camera and that web gun.

I'll stream some next time. But I still die a lot. I usually have some bad runs, get better, than start to tail off as I get impatient. Impatience and spelunking do not mix.

Note that you can get glue from the giant spiders.

What do you use your credit on in the store? I got $25 with my nexus and I got 5 albums during a 99 cent sale. Then I got an email saying the other $20 is expiring on 10/15 and I don't know what to use it on.

I'd never tried it there. Still think shotgun would be preferable - range.

I have noticed some differences in how it plays on PS4. It use to be super easy to shoot the shopkeeper in his shop with the ice gun and then stomp him, but on PS4 he will shoot you just before he turns to ice. You can get around this by jumping and firing at the same time.
