the end of October I think is in 13 days, but I'm not strong with math. I'll probably never know definitvely if I'm employeed at bugles or not at this rate, but presently the answer is 'not yet.'
I'll never buy bugles again if they don't hire you.

But to be honest, I haven't bought bugles in probably a good 15+ years. I don't think I've had them since I was a kid. But damn it, I'll hold true to my word!

I watched the first episode of Gotham tonight. It was ok. One thing that really annoyed me was the need to basically annonce every single person and have each character say the name of the person they were talking to. "This is my partner, Jim Gordon." "Jim Gordon you say?" "Yep, Jim Gordon." "Well, nice to meet you Jim Gordon."

I'm also guessing thwt every time they show a villain, they have to do that thing where the allude to who that person will become down the line. "I don't want any riddles!" "Be a nice little penguin." Im guessing that someone will see Selina jumping around and say something like "What are you some kind of cat, woman?" Or with the other girl "Watch out which plants you touch, one of them could be poison ivy." Because apparently the writers think they're super clever when they do that.
Awesome. Sounds like they got the guys that make up the headlines from espn.com to write for the show.

How long until pharm does that super funny thing where he acts like he knows about destiny and compares things in the game to strippers? Holy fuck that was so funny, I can't wait until he gets on!

who's picking up ac:unity at release?  Looking for some tolerant co-op partners down the line who can handle me playing over remote play micless.  otherwise I'll have to partner up with folks on the early morning watch and, outside of top, I haven't had a lot of luck in that regard.

I got it pre-ordered since BBY matched Dell.com price on the LE. Should be interesting how well the co-op works with Unity.

So due to all the unbearable peer pressure here, I bought Portal 2. Digital, yuck. I have the original on the Orange Box but never played it. Do I need to or just avoid it and play 2?

Also, beat Sora's story on Re: Chain of Memories last night. Awesome game. Now to run through Reverse/Rebirth so I can have RE Revelations lined up for Halloween.

Because nobody plays games at Ass Crack AM.

I did the same as Bums:

But I doubt I'll keep it--if Amazon has a high TIV for the LE at release, I'll just send it in to them.

Can you not use a party chat on the vita in the background while doing remote play to the PS4 and still have voice chat while playing using the built in mic and speakers of the Vita?

ETA: I plan to play it, but like usual I will likely be waiting until I can get it from Gamefly.

Did you tell them you know this guy in Maryland who has Ebola?
Hope you get well Munky. I thought that was you on news about the Ebola in MD. Also you should be happy that Hope Solo got her 75th shutout. I heard she's celebrating by taking more pics of her butthole.

They also feel the need to shoehorn young Bruce Wayne into every episode so far even when it doesn't make sense. Young Bruce Wayne being emo and reading things is not interesting.

Portal 1 is enjoyable and can be beaten in an afternoon. It serves as a good primer for Portal 2 which is 3Xish longer and introduces new mechanics.

So after watching several Time & Eternity video reviews, it looks beautiful but plays half-baked as your main character is two different character personalities one with emphasis in ranged and one with emphasis in close range. Every time you level up, the characters swap, you have no control over it (which is probably the deal breaker for me picking it up). The enemies don't have much variety and are mainly palette and model swaps which do slightly more damage.

The sidekick is a pervy, douche Dragon so it depends how much you enjoy that archetype whether you will find that funny or annoying (I find that annoying so that's probably another deal breaker for me).

Uhhhh, do not play Portal 2 without having played the first. Guess the only thing some of you might find offensive is the lack of trophies. Yikes!!!!!!!!

So can I still complete Velocity if I skipped one level? Only one month behind.

Causually playing Pix the Cat, but it doesn't have much of a hold on me.

Work this weekend, hooray. And a late start on Sunday which will totally kill any gaming for me that night.

I could but I usually play vita while hanging out with the wife and watching tv, so no sound either. I'll definitely set aside some time to play coop with folks at night if communication/coordination is important, but I'd be surprised if it mattered too terribly much. guess we'll see!

I don't think that you *need* to play the first portal to enjoy the 2nd. portal 2 stands on its own and I don't think you miss much if you skip it. I played 2 then 1 then 2 again (and then 2 again and then 2 again) and I don't feel like the first added much for me.

Saw Gone Girl with the wife last night. I was actually impressed. Classic Noir filtered through a modern media lens. Good soundtrack (by Trent Reznor) as well.

Haven't watched it yet but maybe he's listening and observing and beginning to build his World's Greatest Detective skills when he appears to be reading.

Sorry Stotch, if that's another spoiler. He's super good at detecting.

Noooo I didn't know he was going to be good at detecting! Well I might as well quit the show now, thanks asshole.

Did you tell them you know this guy in Maryland who has Ebola?
No, I just stayed out of the conversation. They were busy talking about how the entire flight system should be shut down, and then why in the hell they would transfer a guy from TX to an MD hospital, and that they didn't care if he was going to one of the top ebola/containing facilities in our country. And one woman said Obama should be impeached because of this. I'm pretty sure there are people out there who think Obama actually gave people ebola himself. Like I said, people are absolutely fucking retarded.

Just finished off the plat for Murdered: Soul Suspect. Pretty entertaining story, even if it was full of holes and not completely fleshed out. Lack of real actual gameplay was not the funniest in the world, and those fucking shit-ton of collectables is the worst Jerry. Would make a great movie if they tighten the story some.

Glad it's just a GameStop rental. I can see this hitting plus someday with the short length, poor reviews, and history of getting SE games.

It's weird how much of a giant fuck you Jak 2 is to fans of the first. The horrendous driving controls, the majority of missions requiring driving of some kind (not just traveling to and from the missions which is another issue), the poor gun play, the numerous escort missions, the never-ending guards that get triggered at the slightest bump...

I thought the vehicle parts of the first game were the worst parts of it. Maybe back when it came out people loved that aspect and that's why Naughty Dog made it the biggest part of Jak 2? Not sure. I don't really understand their motivation for completely transforming the game style from Jak 1 to Jak 2 the way they did. Somebody suggested they were patterning it after GTA, but that'd be an odd motivation when Jak1 did quite well on its own and changing the style can only disappoint fans of the first.

BTW, odd timing what with the Fat Princess sale going right now, but if you play Fat Princess on iOS to level 15 you'll get a free PS3 Fat Princess code.

http://appadvice.com/appnn/2014/10/get-a-free-voucher-for-fat-princess-on-ps3-by-playing-its-piece-of-cake-game-on-ios

I wouldn't mind giving FP a try despite the dead MP, but I don't have iOS. Oh well.

Edit: Sounds like it takes about an hour to get to level 15.

Edit2: Nice, the Android version also gives you the same PS3 voucher.

Come on Best Buy!  Add Evil Within!  My Amazon $44 trade in expires today.  I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get $44 when Best Buy adds it to their Trade-In list, but it would be nice to actually be sure!  I know I traded in Shadow of Mordor the Saturday after I bought it, why the fuck isn't Evil Within up yet?

Well, that was more or less directed at anyone who has access to Portal 1. If you don't have a PC or own Orange Box on either console (rare now?) then, sure, just play Portal 2. No need to skip it otherwise. I think it enhances the story. And it's super short.

I also saw Gone Girl last weekend. Typical Fincher fare so if you're a fan you'll like it. Everyone played the hell out of their roles (even Madea...). And, yeah, like @elder mentioned the soundtrack is really good. This makes it 3 for 3 for them now where they NAILED (see what I did?) it.

I hate comments like this, they make me cringe.

Damn, no love for Parasite Eve 1 & 2 and The 3rd Birthday?! Aya Brea may not be as pop as Lara Croft but she was one of the original heroines. You dropped the ball Sorny!

(Sorny is a "The Simpsons" reference, kids. Google it.)
A) Explaining a reference. Ugh. Don't use a reference if you ever feel the need to explain it.
B) Explaining it in a super condescending fashion. Double ugh. Simpsons isn't even old and it's super popular!!! What the fuck! You are not superior because you remember a joke from a TV show in the 90's.

Today I learned that Rockstar made Jak 2.

Seriously though, this is one game I have to agree with you on. I sometimes wonder why I pushed through to the end.

When you say it "expires today", do you mean that 10/18 is the date mentioned as the deadline for shipping the game to them? If so, you technically have another week to send it in to secure the $44.
