Isn't it agreed ctrl is jay? Unless Stotch picked up the alt habit from the Steam thread.
I've contacted jay by email to see if that was him. He didn't know what I was talking about. I don't think he surfs CAG anymore since I told him I'd email him if I see any good deals.

Jay said he doesn't like tattle tells.

Yuck, IGN voters gave Best Of....Everything to Nintendo. NeoGAF has already bought a crate of lotion from Costco and are planning out how big of a circle they're going to need.
Please don't insult Neogaf. They only act the way they do because they don't know any better. They need to be taught.

Just finished Watch_Dogs. Act IV was the strongest one story wise and they had potential, but too many low points, few high, cheap resolutions.

Thinking about getting that white PS4 after all.

Need to finish up that PS3 backlog but I haven't played anything on it in weeks. Maybe go for the 360 backlog since that seems smaller and I don't have GWG to add to it.

Also need to find a more interesting book to read.

Stream it, hahaha.
I doubt anything else nearly that interesting is going to happen but OK.

http://www.twitch.tv/eldritchonrye

I doubt it will be nearly as interesting as that one time I threw the basketball end to end for two hours but I'm sure someone will enjoy watching me get my ass waxed on easy. Will stream the rest of this disaster and the next one.

Eldritch makes watching Baseball entertaining, who'd have thunk it?

In other news, this is how wrestling matches should end.

David Gilmore announced a new Pink Floyd album is in the works. First album since 1994's Division Bell. It's going to be called The Endless River.
Stay on topic, jerkface.

I need to give PF more of a listen. Sure I hear the stuff on the radio all the time, but the only album I've listened to is MLOR. That and a greatest hits type of thing that for some reason sucked terribly. Or maybe that was a greatest hits by The Who. It may have been The Who, actually.

People make it seem like it's really hard to bookmark this page. And for mobile, I just leave a tab open with this thread and use a different tab for browsing.
I just keep a tab open for each thread I follow. Which right now is the PSN thread, this one, Amazon PCDD, and the Japanese niche games thread. During sales I keep the Steam trading thread open as well.

I'd love to see Les Claypool. I had a ticket to Bonaroo one year that he was playing and was super excited for it. My friends ended up backing out and I had to sell my ticket.
I've gone to Bonaroo a couple of times. The first time I hooked up with friends, the second time I just kind of wandered and mingled. Never going without friends again. The 2nd time I went was the year before last and it was horrendous, by the way. It was dry for like a month leading up to it, so there was dust everywhere. Within about two hours I was having terrible allergy problems. I picked up some allergy pills but still ended up at every stage laying on my back to keep snot from running all over my face. It was such a huge disappointment.

Other than Bonaroo I've been to...one concert? I think that's it, really, aside from just checking out live music at bars. The concert was Imogen Heap and I just went with a couple of friends. That was in 2005. I'm not big on going to concerts. I don't get much out of them in comparison to just listening to music. Never really understood the appeal.

With the Nyko powergrip, you'd never have that problem :whistle2: And don't forget the Oreo's.
Anybody have the slim Nyko? I've got one for my fat and it's great, wondering how the slim's compares. Thinking about picking one up because it makes such a huge difference in any game that requires precise controls.

So last night, I popped in my new Vita memory card, and expected this big ordeal. Everyone is always bitching about how it's a pain to switch cards. It took literally 15 seconds. You guys are such babies sometimes.
It's only a big deal if you're also switching accounts. When you switch accounts it becomes a pain because you lose all your folders and have to reorganize the 500 stupid applications the Vita comes with so that you can see your games.

Made my first retail vita game purchase today.
How could everybody tell this was at Target? Just the red clearance sticker, or was I missing something here?

I'm giving Doctor Who a chance as some of you have suggested. Going to watch the second episode tonight.
Doctor Who took a few episodes to get into, but I really liked Christopher Eccleston's Doctor. It took almost the entire first season of David Tennant to like him at all, then his second season is making me dislike him again because he's such a dick to the companion. I'm about halfway through s3 now, but the wife had us switch to Torchwood, which I'm about to watch the s1 finale in. After that we'll finish off that Doctor Who season and then take a break, I think.

I did see the Christmas special with Matt. I don't really care about spoiling myself. It was actually pretty good and he surprisingly was immediately likable even coming into it late like that. Not sure why Tennant never really clicked that way for me, but Smith is a much more appealing Doctor from the little I watched.

I am looking forward to Doctor Capaldi. It'd be awesome if he was a cussy mean shithead Doctor. I doubt it, but I've got high hopes.

Oh, and I forgot to quote this one, but I like Obama when it's Obama or Romney. fuck that alien-loving undergarments weirdo.

I was going to not have this thread open at work, but you guys post too quick. I guess I'll be CAGing on the clock to stay caught up, you bastards.

I passed out early last night and now I know how it feels to be one of those people that complains about too many posts.  Holy fuck you guys talk a lot of bull shit.  So what I get now is...

A lot of questions are being ignored.

Lots of new posters.  No one seems to know who invited them.

There may be a girl in the thread now that snakey needs to see more pics of.

RPG is a confirmed traitor.  Again.

People from Wisconsin think borrow and lend are the same things.

IATCG was from Wisconsin.

Who is ctrl?

Bumslie and Jay (rip) are besties.

Some questions are actually being answered.

Cool nicknames.

I am reading here trying to catch up I will follow this thread. Played too much Borderlands 2 the last few days. I am about 24 hours behind.

The "Tough (potential) Losses" group:

jcondon - Didn't post much but usually had good posts. Only 1 post here, no mention of if he plans frequent thread.

I guess I am guilty of saying "I borrowed you something" on occasion. Y'all are just jealous of all our NFL titles (or something).

I saw that Lego LOR on clearance at a Target by me too, but for $10 instead of $6. But they mark down on Mondays for electronics so I may have to go back and hope it's still there. And yes the little red sticker is the dead giveaway.

In kinda related news, the Target Cartwheel app is having a one year birthday celebration starting next week and y'all can vote in an extra special offer to be added for the festivities. One of the options is 15% off all electronics and entertainment, which includes video game shit. Go to http://birthday.cartwheel.com/target/facebook-original-vote-FB-7-6-alloffers to vote.

started Infamous up in earnest this morning.  other than some haphazard controls/platforming (as was the tradition in the earlier part of this past generation) it seems pretty fun.  any hints?  I'll likely be shooting for the plat on the first Infamous at least since it's from the welcome back program but not actually tied to my psn account so I'd like to be "done" with it (same with lbp) and never have the urge to go back.  I know that I need to do full good and bad runs with maxed karma/upgrades.  the shard collecting looks like a hot bitch.

You all must be slacking--only 11% of votes for the 15% off deal?! :shame:

You can "ping" the blast shards by clicking the right analog stick to make the shards easier to find. That coupled with this map should make them easy.

Sweet, Tyler confirmed I'm the champ.

That Destiny LE is something I want, but literally every single LE/CE I've ever bought, I've regretted. I'm hoping it pulls a Halo and you'll be able to get it for dirt cheap down the road.
Yeah I am trying NOT to get sucked into the LE version. I usually play the first couple DLCs and lose interest. But with GCU it is hard to resist. I did pre order the standard edition last week for $5 down though.

You have to use a map and mark off the shards you get as you go if you want to avoid ultimate frustration. The pinging only works so far. I would hate having to do that on the whole map. Other than that I believe its slightly easier to do the bad playthrough on the harder difficulties. Some people say it doesnt matter, but I am in the camp that its easier because you dont need to watch who you hit with your weapons.

Our theory at the office is people are getting confused by the poor site design and just clicking vote on the first offer that appears instead of actually scrolling through and picking what they want.

The shard collection is a pain in the ass in the first game. The controls combined with the design of the buildings and crap the things are hidden around just make fetching them a huge exercise in tedium. I ended up just grabbing ones I saw after the first couple of hours rather than hunting for them. Obviously not a good approach if you're looking for the plat, but even on the good run and me not being that great at video games, the number of shards I collected still provided plenty of energy for attacks and such.

I will say for the combat that the melee stuff was pretty useless. I'd max out other stuff first, such as all your travel-related powers and the ranged attacks. Your basic Lightning Bolt attack is great for spamming and should be upgraded before any of the other attack powers.

yeah. I don't think we need more coupons for simply balanced. should randomize the first option.

The sheer number of buttons used in this game is a little jarring to me for some reason - it seems like a lot. I don't think I've used circle yet, but I'm pretty early in.

Yeah, I collected 5 of them as I was wandering and then looked and saw that there was 350 and I was all 'oh shit, I need a plan'. I just started doing good options without considering which would be better for the hard playthrough, so that's good news.

it sure seems like you toss melee out the window early on - discovered that pretty quick at the bridge when I was getting shredded by machine guns.

I forgot to mention something about this: Did you try scanning the game anyway to verify the price? I remember the price on a clearance game at Target being lower than the stickered price a couple of times for me.

Unfortunately, that makes a lot of sense. :-({|=

On Hard mode, you might have to use Circle more often--it's your dodge button. You also use it to drop from ledges, IIRC.

We talked about this in Tyler's Twitch Chat. As far as I know, it is another strange Wisconsin thing. I know quite a few people from there and they all use borrow when they should use lend. It drives me nuts.
Ha maybe it is a Wisconsin thing. I know it's grammatically incorrect yet I still say it all the time.
Wait wait wait. Don't borrow and lend mean the same thing? My cheese brain is confused.
Wisconsin thing confirmed!

Lol. "I borrowed him that game". That type of thing.

@gator...I take it NoDa can only be had on North Davidson, or local pubs in the area right? ie, not at stores?

Someone needs to borrow you a decent web developer :wall:

The collecting of shards and a few special moves stopped me from pushing through for the platnium. I thought I pushed up my Infamous game save to PS+ before I sold my original PS3 (sounded like a jet) but didn't so I lost my save.

I beat the game at least twice and needed to play it again to get some of those special moves (not enough enemies after you beat the game). So you definitely want to watch for all those moves early on to get that trophy.

Stunt Master trophy.

Why the fuck is Simply balance coupon winning over the electronics one?

And Infamous 1...yeesh. I played it late last year for the first time and I was not impressed at all.

This. SO MUCH THIS. Pete, you need to go for Stunt Master ASAP if you want the plat.

What's the first coupon that loads on the page? :wall:

Say what now?
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/118406/Sony_PS3_Leap_Year_Bug_Resolved.php

It caused me to lose every trophy I had earned in Infamous since I was playing it when this happened. I didn't have internet access at home at the time, so I only synced trophies about once a week, and none of the trophies from Infamous were synced. I started up the save file which caused a few to auto-pop later, but everything from my good playthrough was gone.
