When do the PS+ free games for the US reset each month? (aka how long do I have to subscribe and "purchase" the free games for this month)

They rotate them weekly, at the beginning of the month they say when each new game will be available, but they don't say which one express until the well before it does.

Do you mean when does each game expire? It's different for every game. They used to tell us every game that was coming down during the current month with the first post of the month, but I guess people were fine giving that up to know what games were being added a few days earlier than that. We at least know what's expiring the following week when the PS+ update post goes live each Monday.

Has anyone played Hitman: Absolution and has made a contract? If so, let me know, I need to add someone for the trophy.

Cool, cool, let me know. All you gotta do is complete the Create Contracts tutorial and that'll walk you through it, then I'll go and play it. Also, if you care about trophies, you can play the one I created and get the trophy as well.

Catherine as well. At $15, if you combine it with the $10 back on $50, it becomes $12. Amazon has the disc for $17, but even if you play and resell it to Gamestop you'll only get $6 back. Buying it off PSN costs you an extra dollar (assuming the buy price doesn't drop further, and that you don't pay tax or shipping for Amazon.)

Edit: Whoops, misread the question about decent things on PSN sale right now, not about Vita-specific games.

Catherine was a EU PS+ freebie so I would hold off on buying it. I'm sure it'll make its way over on PS+ sooner rather than later.

 
Square Enix should know that digital distribution is... an available option. They have a reticence to put some games down the dd pipeline.

Damn, I didn't know that. Just bought it yesterday, too. :(

Then again, here in the US we're weirder about adult material, it seems like. Wouldn't surprise me if it was decided against for that reason.

 
Anybody know how the $10 back from $50 specifically works? They accept 49.99 for a PS+ sub. Is that an exception, or is there a ballpark "Eh, he's close enough to $50" kind of deal? The problem is all of their games end in .99, so if you buy 5 $10 games for example you end up a few pennies short. 

I'm guessing the cheapest way to push over the edge is with some $.99 mini...but I've no idea if any decent ones exist. :(

Excited, but not gonna lie, the HD remastered cinematics are pretty lame. Not really a huge deal for Re:coded but I would have loved to play 358/2 Days instead of, ya know, watching it.

Hadn't bought on PSN in a month or two at least. That'll change tomorrow. Terrific sale. Definitely interested in Crysis 3, Okami. What are your opinions on the Bionic Commando games? What about the Dead Space 3 DLC (or whatever makes it "Ultimate")?
 
Definitely in for those prices on Okami, D&D and (assuming it's the complete set of games that it sounds like it is) Capcom Arcade Cabinet All-In.  Seriously considering Remember Me for that price as well.  :whistle2:k  Gonna be easy to hit the $50 mark this month to get that $10 back in Nov.   :D

Remember Me is mine as well. I've been waiting for a decent low price on it. I was considering getting it at BB for $20...glad I waited.

 
Think I may bite on Okami. Almost did the last time it went on sale, but lower price combined with store credit might finally do it for me.

I'm also interested in what people think about the Bionic Commando remakes. Those pique my interest, but I thought I heard they weren't that good.

And DMC collection is tempting, but I see retail version of that hitting $10 in some sale soon enough.
 
Bionic Commando Re-Armed is fantastic. I have the 2nd but never got that far into it. I heard it wasn't as good though.

In for the original Bionic Commando (if it has trophies), that D&D game, Draw Slasher (probably) and probably Okami just so I'll have it forever (beat it on EU PS+ a while ago).  This might help get me closer to the $50 threshold.

I also see in the wording that the "Spend $50, get $10" promo goes through October 29, which is a Tuesday.  So my interpretation is that besides tomorrow, we still have 2 more eligible updates for this program.

Okami hasn't ever been on sale here in the US.

The original Bionic Commando is amazing. The sequel is alright, but it is bloated by about 6 levels and the upgrade system really doesn't work very well. BCR2 is also handicapped by that wonderful Capcom DRM (so is Final Fight) but I don't know if the original BCR has that same DRM issue.

Just making sure you understand that the purchase must come from your account. You cannot redeem a purchased card (from say Bestbuy) as that would not count.

You need to redeem some PSN monetary cards or use paypal to fund the purchase from within your account funds, for it to count towards the promotion.

Also they are both available currently at 2.49 on Steam. Currently meaning "for another 31 minutes from my posting."

How it gets into your account doesn't matter, is my understanding...for example if you put the money in your wallet from a PSN code from Amazon, BB, whatever, or fill it with paypal, or fill it with your credit card...the source doesn't matter, as long as you're spending money on PSN. To be specific; a PS+ year sub redemption code purchased from Amazon will not do the trick, but if you buy $50 in PSN money, redeem to your wallet, then use your wallet to purchase the sub it WILL count.

 
I always hear praise for okami but usually write it off for that like a game like journey, not for me. Is it a good game that's fun and has a good story or what?

it's a lot like zelda, even story wise.

Also, I have a pretty strong feeling Okami will be a plus offering now either next month or the one after...this seems to happen pretty often. Sell if for cheap, then put it on plus.

I thought for sure it was on sale for $10 or so during a sale in late spring/early summer because I remember debating buying it. I could also be crazy and making up false memories too.
 
Sweet, going to get Okami as well. I will also probably get the Arcade Cabinet.

Very interesting Capcom sale, in for Okami HD but my only concern is that it enters PS+ US in a couple of months, PS+ EU already got it back in April.

 
Going to get Final Fight so that when my sister-in-law comes over the three of us can play.

If goes free in a couple of month I am going to throw away my PS3. no i'm not.

Is this the first time Capcom Arcade been on sale? Still seems a little pricey for some arcade titles.

Also have the same concern on Okami becoming free.

I'm happy Square Enix wasted no time announcing KH2 HD. I'll pick up those and FFX/X-2 whenever they're $20 or less.
