Just browsing the rest of the comments over there, but he confirmed that two of "corpse party, persona titles, escape plan, guacamelee, sound shapes, super stardust" are planned for the EU IGC. Not really useful info, but interesting at least.

Also, lots of whiners over there this month.
Welp, now I know not to buy those for my $10 back on $50. :)

Well, now that everyone has clarified it makes sense, but I can definitely understand the confusion. You can buy a PS+ membership card and that wouldn't count toward the promotion...

The promotion specifically says to purchase it from the PS Store, so it should come as no surprise that a physical card wouldn't work.

I don't care what anyone says, Spelunky is the best game available for Vita. I just got the trophy for beating the game not using shortcuts, and I think I'm going to have to delete it from my Vita or else I'll never play anything else at this point. The only time I've played anything else is when I have a stupid death, rage quit, and then I always end up back at Spelunky within 10 minutes.

Best sequel ever.

So I just started playing the Genesis version of Castle of Illusion and it's kinda cool.  Is there any major differences between the NA/EU/JP versions or can I just beat the NA version and be satisfied that I've completed the game?

Well, what can you say? We all like our cheap shit, even at someone else's expense. How do people think Sony is able to only charge $399, lol? Yes, the magic of capitalism. Sucks, but someone/something/someplace, somewhere, somehow suffers for many of the things we consume and enjoy (including the computer or phone we're using right now). I always find it disingenuous when reports like this pop up and only call out one company. Last year it was Apple and Nintendo. Every company uses these practices. ALL of them. If we really want to go down that rabbit hole, rare earth elements are the key to every piece of technology we own and they are currently being mined by slave labor or near-slave labor in Africa.

On a related note, Last Train Home is a great documentary about Chinese migrant workers at factories like Foxconn.

any titles I should be getting for the Vita (from this week's sales)
Persona 4 Golden has been on sale a lot lately but it's definitely worth it at $20. One of the best Vita games. Everything else you can hold off on... unless you want to play Dragon Crown right away.

You literally won't understand anything. Platinum Spelunker HD before you even think about starting up Spelunky.
Well done, lol.

Spelunky is pretty much all I play on my Vita as well. Great game but the Vita version is rough. Leaderboard issues and bad framerate drops on certain levels take it out of god-tier. If they ever patch it and fix that shit AND add the daily challenges from the PC version, it will be the version to own.

Is there anyway to open a PS+ account without a system?  I know you can download all the Vita stuff without owning a Vita and then play it after you purchase one.  I don't own any new sony products yet but wanted to purchase one around the end of the year but wanted to get in on some of the "free" games this month.  Anyway to start up a PSN account and purchase a subscription and add these games to my history?  Thanks.

I don't know if purchasing this will activate it right away without need for a console, but that's where you can purchase a 12 month sub from the web store.

Damn, we're actually agreed on something.

So I just bought DOA5+ and NGS2+ from Zavvi so they are the EU versions. Is there a way to install the included DLC and keep my US account. (they are only costume codes)

going to be a good/expensive week this tuesday. the wolf among us and the new star wars pinball tables are definite buys for me, plus hopefully that sale has some good stuff in it. im also hoping for a sale on the amalur DLC sometime this month!

I just read you story.
Microsoft reaction seems unfair and disproportionate to me considering the great ammount of money and time you have spent on Xbox Live and I'm not even counting the dedication and quality time you spent on the Xbox Live thread around here.

it would not shock me to see persona go into the PSN side in nov.

then again i heard it could be

hot shots golf

some fighting game

and

need for speed

How often does Sony add compatibility to the Vita for PSOne classics? I'm thinking about picking up all three Spyro games for my wife for when I eventually get a Vita but it looks like none of them are compatible now. Is there a chance they will be in the future?

From my understanding its up to the publisher to fix the compatibility issues. Its unlikely though unfortunately.

But also, it's Telltale and they whore their games out to any platform they can. So will it be on Vita? Not Tuesday, but yes it will, someday.
Not to Wii U apparently. I didn't say it would never come to Vita, just that it hasn't been announced for Vita. It's not going to be available for it until it's actually announced for the platform.

I'm not saying you said it will never come to Vita. More a response to the other dude, because I have no doubts that eventually it will be on Vita. And what's a Wii U? Is that the Mario console?

I still hate Spelunky, but beating the game without shortcuts is impressive. fuck, beating the game at all is quite impressive.

I've done it 3 times now, but the city of gold and hell still escape me. And yes it's nearly all I play now, though I'm trying to force a break on me by playing through Ico. :)

Speaking of Ico, I have played it some via Remote Play. It works pretty well though with occasional blips... but all I can think is that the right solution is not Remote Play at all, it's a Vita version of the game with cross-buy/cross-save. The Vita is a handheld for crying out loud, not a WiiU gamepad.
