Same here. I loved Simpsons Arcade back in the day. Glad to see it finally made its way to consoles. Even better is I'll get it for free thanks to the Target deal ;)

they have never stated an official store update time to my knowledge. They owe you no time. If they were lazy they wouldn't offer so much so often for what little you paid. They could just charge you to play online like microsoft.

We technically have the right to complain about anything we want. I'm not as mad about late updates as i am about the fact that the update times wildly vary.

I'd be perfectly fine if they simply said "No updates till 10pm" or something. Not getting an update at 5pm one week, then not till 11pm the next.

I actually agree with your point for the most part, but being a dick about it doesn't help at all.

For what it's worth, I'd love to see Sony just say the store will be updated my midnight pst, so people can count on the content being there Wednesday morning at the latest. It would get rid of the "complaining", unless of course they miss that deadline.

Also, I should note that I don't think dgwillia006 or JDTAY were "complaining" at all, or that they said anything was owed to them, or anything of that matter. If you want to see "complaining", check out the PS blog comments on a regular basis.
 
Midnight PST would be a terrible time to regularly update, as I'd never be able to post the lists until Wednesday afternoon rather than Tuesday evenings.

You do realize that 'free' stuff isn't technically free, because you have to be a PSN+ member. Also, they are more like rentals so they're not yours to keep. If people want to be politically correct, then let's be technical about things. Almost 8pm central time here, still no store update. Seems more like some of the stuff is timed exclusive as free otherwise you'll miss out on the deal(s).

damn man this is pretty late for there not to be an update. id prefer a regular update time as well but if its late they could , at the very least, put out a message saying it will be late, maybe why its late and give us a rough estimate of when we can expect it up that way if people have other shit to do they can go do it and come back later.

thats not much to ask for.
 
I have to work til midnite every tuesday, so no problems here. it is always updated by then, but even so ill probly play some mw3 and just download stuff tomorrow. its not like it's limited to the first # of people that download or anything. i guess you could be worried about far cry 2 only being free for a week, but you got 6 more days...

Probably because Sony is not delivering something people paid for (PS+) in a timely manner. I don't have PS+ myself, but I just want them to update so I can get some Rick Astley going for Valentine's Day.
 
C'mon guys. I know some of us have no life and are huge video game nerds, but sitting around to wait for some free games that will be available for the next week is crazy. Go do something else and check tomorrow = win.
 
maybe so, but they never put up a time. sometimes its early in the day, sometimes its late in the day. you have no idea what it entails to update the store. it could take a lot of time. for all you know there is someone who has been working all day setting everything up. Gathering the data and uploading files. Big files, like farcry 2. Making sure they download and install properly. Making sure the price works properly, making all those previews, setting up structure. Contacting and reviewing it with their boss, spellchecking all the synopses.

People get fired over things such as store price errors, or corrupt data uploads. They have to be careful.

But no, its late, they must be lazy. Good for nothing. Obviously sitting on their ass enjoying that you don't have your content you so rightfully deserve, your god given right.

Just seems fruitless to bitch and moan about it and its tiresome to read the same complaints EVERY WEEK.

if i get people to wake up and realize its not worth whining about every week then its not pointless. because they will realize there are bigger problems in the world and next week maybe not say the same old line.
 
Thanks for your hard work as always Frisky - the whole of cag has devolved into a big fat mess of pointless arguing and trolling lately, hopefully it'll get back to normal soon. I've actually started using my ignore list for the first time since I started here!
