drat, i was hoping the 4.10 update was to enable remote play for a whole bunch of ps3 games for the vita.
me too! Damn

Legend of Heroes is a must have for any PSP owner with a slight interest in JRPGs, as it is easily one of the best the genre has seen in many a year.
Anywhere between 1 week and 1 month. Don't quote me, but I think Simpsons is for the whole month. And I'm pretty sure FarCry 2 next week is only for 1 week.
Thanks guys. I will probably become a PS+ this Friday

agreed.

Also, I liked the HotD 3 demo. Despite only getting 2 lives, it felt fun and looked pretty good considering I don't think it's been touched up at all. Pretty much a for-sure buy next week.

It's good to see that some of the stuff is cheaper than retail, though the price for Uncharted almost confirms that the discount isn't universal. Can't wait to see what else gets found before next week's update.
What happened to Inferno Pool for free for PS+?

Was kind of looking forward to it. :whistle2:( Maybe it will pop up later in the month.
Same here, what the hell? I hope none of the other games they previously announced fail to appear.

tiny quick update msuhitman, took maybe 3 minutes. i also just got kicked from psn to sign to sen terms. that was pretty rude.

n yeah maybe inferno pool isn't free after all. didnt they say majong tales was included, but all that was was a sale for psn+ members... why would they have it on sale and then give it away free a week later? idk i hope we still get both. i like the free trophies... well you still gotta earn them and time but no $ is good ;)

Are those Online Passes for if you buy a used physical copy of the game? I assume the physical copy comes with a code the original owner can use and you wouldn't need the Online Pass if you buy the digital version of the game... Is that correct?

True. I'm hoping Inferno Pool pops up with the bunch of other free games we're supposed to get next week. And I really don't want Battle Fantasia or Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars to magically disappear either.

Majhong Tales is (supposedly) free starting next week. Don't ask my why they put it on sale 2 weeks before giving it for free (trying to understand some of the decisions behind the scenes of PSN and XBLA is absolutely mindboggling). It's also one of those TikGames games that have persistent PS+ discounts, so who the hell knows what's going on with it.

But if it's free, I'll take it. Like you, I very much enjoy free trophies. And Majhong tiles games are okay in small doses.

I would think so (and sure hope so), but sorry I can't confirm.
was i playing mahjong when i played yakuza 4 mini games? idk
I have no idea, but basically Majhong Tales is a bunch of mahjong tiles piled up and you need to match 2 to get them to disappear, and the goal is to get rid of the whole pile. It's not actually the game of Mahjong, but it is played with Mahjong tiles.

IGN gave it a 5.2 using their hilarious old scoring scale. I bet the reviewer lost sleep trying to decide if he should give it a 5.1 or 5.2.

If there are fellow night owl CAGs who want to do some co-op on Simpsons any night we catch each other on feel free to drop me a friend request. I have a nicely populated XBL list full of CAGs but very few for PSN. Just let me know that you're from CAG in the message. :)

I d/l'ed the HOTD3 demo today and you die after 2 hits. What the hell? Game looks nice though, and at $7 it's a "no brainer"

That's Shanghai, not Mahjong. It's commonly referred to as Mahjong, though, which is endlessly annoying.

Actual Mahjong is more like playing a card game (like poker), and looks like this:

I always found it strange that people call Shanghai, Mahjong too! I guess Shanghai was more commonly confused for something else, maybe the food/place/cooking style.

I got this "Mahjong" title because the last time I had a good Shanghai game was on the Sega Genesis. I think it was called Shanghai 2: Dragon's Eye or something like that.

Ya, I've played actual Mahjong before, I suck at it. The game we're supposed to get for free, Mahjong Tales, is actually the tile removal game. So I guess it should be called Shanghai Tales.

I've edited my previous post so it doesn't sound like I'm describing Mahjong, but rather am describing Mahjong Tales. Thanks.

Yeah, not sure what they were thinking, but that's ridiculous. You cannot change any of the settings, but it would've been nice to play through a level instead of some lame 2 hit cap. At that point why even bother producing the demo?

Sorry to correct you, but Mahjong is much more equivalent to Gin Rummy than to Poker.

From the PS Blog comments, from Morgan who works there:

"Glad you like the update! Inferno Pool has changed to next week. As noted on all preview Coming to Plus posts, items listed there are tentatively scheduled and subject to change."

So we should get it next week! Yay!

Couldn't agree more. It's a shame that the strategic deep Mahjong has been degraded into a matching tile game.

Damn. Was gonna try it. Even at the PS+ cost, I'm not sure now. The 2 hit thing might be agitating. Like bad fighting games from back in the day. Hmmm... I will get around to downloading the demo. Thanks for the heads up!

Yay, Inferno pool next week. There would have been hell's toupee if they reneged that one, not gonna worry about Fatal Inertia now.

I'm confused about the HOTDIII 2-hit and die issue. Is that a deliberate nerf on the demo or a feature of the full game?

My understanding is that the 2-hit limit is the demo's built-in limitation, not something forced upon the paid release. But correct me if I'm wrong.
Almost positive it is how they nerfed the demo for HotD 3, not how the full game will be.
Yeah I'm not bashing the game at all. I was bashing the demo limitation. And I'm still more than likely to buy it since PS+ gets a 30% discount.

For those playing the HOTD3 demo, do you have to waggle the Move controller if the zombies grab you? I think the arcade version of Time Crisis 4 had you shake the controller for some things, and was missing from the PS3 version.
It's good to see that some of the stuff is cheaper than retail, though the price for Uncharted almost confirms that the discount isn't universal. Can't wait to see what else gets found before next week's update.
When you add in the memory card(s) you'll have to buy to store the games, though, they can end up being more expensive. Uncharted alone would take up most of a $20 4GB card.

Ahh.. Ok...about the 2 hit HOTD3 thing.

As for The Simpsons, it's fun! I like how I just jump right in. Thought I'd be running around PS Home adding people.

However, I wish it'd give more lives. Each time I play, I end up entering 20 quarters into my PS3!:hot:
any opinions on Blacklight?
I've only played it on the 360, but I imagine it's more or less the same experience on both platforms. I had fun with it at first. Unfortunately as people got better a small difference on one team would lead to the slightly better one pinning the other in their base. That got worse and worse until it only took a couple of minutes before each match ended up that way and a good number of players would just quit. The last time I played, many months ago, I couldn't find a game with more than a few people.

A price drop like this may get a few more people playing, but I don't think the problems have been fixed. The company has a free to play PC Blacklight game coming out so don't expect any future support for this one.

Well, picking up two years of PS+ during the Target price mistake paid off with Simpson's Arcade! Can't believe it took this long to finally be on consoles; makes me feel very old ha. Don't think I'll ever get around to playing FFV, but grabbed it anyway.
