I'm glad to see Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together and The 3rd Birthday finally drop in price, but hopefully Square Enix puts them on sale sometime. If not, $19.99 is definitely reasonable, but having seen Amazon put the physical version on sale for $15-ish I'm reluctant to spend too much on the digital version.
Ok, cool. Thanks.

The themes are just static anyway, right?
The preorder ones are. Bloodrayne has a premium theme w/purchase. Not sure on Renegade Ops.

SF3 static theme was nice though.

Dino Crisis for $3 is a steal if you can deal with tank controls and have some appreciation for Capcom trying to do it without prerendered backgrounds. I bet it still looks pretty good on PSP.

I'll probably bite on Shock Troopers.
Is mortal kombat up?
I noticed earlier today searching for it that there's a dlc character 4-pack for the new Mortal Kombat for $15. Maybe everyone on the planet already knew about this, but it was good news for me as I haven't picked up any of 'em yet.
The only part of the PSN Play promotion that you miss out on by not pre-ordering is the theme. The DLC, PS+ discount, and the Payday: The Heist offer are all still valid as long as you buy them before the update on 9/20.
Ah thanks for this, was worried i'd miss out on the discount/deal if i miss pre-ordering Bloodrayne. Still trying to do it tommorow, stupid power outages

this might be the dlc of the week for rock band - “Bed Intruder Song (Feat. Kelly Dodson)” – Antoine Dodson & The Gregory Brothers ($1.99)

Sweet....Tactics Ogre finally dropped to match the UMD price. I was waiting for this drop as I fully expect I'll be playing this one on Vita eventually too. Thanks for the head's up OP.

My thoughts exactly. Going to pick this one up to play on the Vita, still considering a used PSP again but pretty sure i will just hold out for the Vita.

Wow - Sony went crazy with PSN+ this month - 3 free PSN games, 3 PSP Minis, 4 PSOne games, and half-off on the RE4 and Code Veronica X games :)

PvZ is easily one of the best freebies they've had.

The Star Wars DLC is for the PSP games? That's a disappointment. I initally read this on my iPhone and it's all scrunched up so I just saw TFU dlc discounted. Oh well.

I think September is when my Plus subscription would have ended if not for the extension so perhaps this was planned in advance as a way to get people to renew and such.

No, it's for the PS3 version. I'd specifically mark them if they were for the PSP.

I'm kinda meh when it comes to the RE freebies and discounts. But it is kinda hard to say no to free stuff. I'm definitely more excited for the free PvZ and Altered Beasts w/ trophy support.

But whats up with all the SEGA Genesis PS+ freebies? I'm definitely not complaining, but I've gotten Sonic 1 & 2, Golden Axe, Comix Zone and now Altered Beasts come tomorrow, all within the last couple months. Now I feel stupid for buying Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection not to long ago lol.

Hahaha "ask and ye shall receive" thanks! Didn't know about that at all, it was even announced about a month before I signed up for PS+. Now I'm kinda sad that this is the end of them lol. But thanks again for informing me.

Sony really went nuts this month. I always wanted to try the RE PS1 games. I didn't get into the series until 4, but I loved Dino Crisis. I would have been happy with one game, but three is awesome.

I'm tempted by the RE HD games too, but I think I'd rather wait for a disc version that drops below $20.

Good news all around, looking forward to celebrating the RE 15th anniversary by being up to my eyeballs in RE games.

And of course PvZ on yet another device for free is impossible to complain about. Thanks for the update!

pvz for free is awesome. i already got re2 and re3 through sweet deals so im not complaining. $10 for re4 hd is so awesome also. don't know if i will bite for re veronica tho. altered beast is sweet too. already got astro tripper for like a dollar. Thanx PSN+!

also im gonna miss these sega freebies. hopefully some other collection comes around and gives us free $5 games every 2 months or so ;)

Does RE4 HD have Move support? Google hasn't given me anything concrete so that's probably a no. Seems like a total missed opportunity there/Quick cash in

Been looking at Armageddon Riders - will definitely buy it for $6. Looking forward to the free PvZ, and RE 2+3. I'll give Altered Beast a shot just for the trophies and to WIZE FWOM MY GWAVE.

Hey guys...just signed up for PS+ yesterday!

Quick question about a few quick things...
- Do full game trials expire? As in if I don't download them today are they going to go away? And when I install them does that start the 60 min clock?
- Where do you search on Amazon for some of the PSOne games and how do you install them?
- Anything else I should know as not only a new PS+ member but also a new PS3 owner?

Thanks!

Congrats on being a new PS3/Plus member.

- I think originally Full Game Trilas were supposed to disappear after a new one showed up, but most if not all seem to still be able to DL.

- The 60 minutes starts once you start playing the game I believe

- Amazon's PS1 library is Here, it's essentially a code which you redeem on your PS3 (or PSP, they work with both). Note that Amazon is not related to Playstation Plus offers at all. You have to get all the free or discounted games through the PS3's PSN store.
I think September is when my Plus subscription would have ended if not for the extension so perhaps this was planned in advance as a way to get people to renew and such.
Kinda. If you had gotten the initial free month of PSN+ on it's last few days and then the extension, it would have run out a few days ago. But, yeah, this is probably a well timed ploy to get more subscribers.

I probably won't jump on it as I'd be paying $14 (or however much it is) for the rental of a handful of games (ones that I'm not particularly interested in, besides Altered Beast and even then I prefer the arcade version).

I haven't played the original RE games in years, but giving them out for free is absolutely wonderful of Sony. PvZ is a nice touch too and should make the spooky Halloween season extra fun.

The deals for this week:

Minis
Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter - $1.99 - Temporary Sale

PSP
Blazblue: Calamity Trigger - $9.99 - Permanent Price Drop
Gladiator Begins - $9.99 - Permanent Price Drop
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus - $9.99 - Permanent Price Drop
Resistance: Retribution - $15.99 - Temporary Sale

Add-ons
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Add-on Bundle - $20.99

PlayStation Plus

PS3
Armageddon Riders - $5.99 - Expires 9/20

Minis
Alpha Mission - $2.39
The Impossible Game - $2.24
T.N.K. III - $2.39
Vanguard II - $2.39

For what its worth, Carnivores has 1 review on gamerankings and 0 on metacritic for the psp.
2/10 from Playstation Official UK print only. The iOS version got a 79% on metacritic.

That'll be a pass for me.

Nice just DL'd PvZ, Altered Beast and Astro Tripper all for free. I'm really glad I picked up a + subscription. Its definitely paying for itself.
