picked up rochard and sideway NY. is payday: the heist worth the 10?
I too would like to know this about Payday.

Is it on par, better, or worse than the MP in the first Kane & Lynch game? I loved playing K&L MP with friends.

Any opinions on Rochard and Euphloria also?

I plan on picking up PJ SS, Sidway NY, SF3S OE, MKAK, Bloodrayne, and Hydrophobia.

Don't know about Payday, but Rochard is and excellent puzzle game with a little bit of combat thrown in. I'd say its better than Sideway or PJ SS.

So far I prefer sideway over rochard but that's because rochard seems like I'll play through it once and never touch it again. Sideway requires you to replay levels once your character unlocks all his moves to find secrets. That and I just like the concept of sideway overall.

Gonna pick up and try stranger's wraith tonight, or I may boot up payday as I never finished the last four levels. Couldn't play it anymore as everyone wants to play the first level over and over and over...

Does a store maintinence mean you cant sign in to your account either? O_O

Not sure if i want to leave my PS3 on while im at class tommorow morning

you can still sign on and play games. store and account maintenance is just down.
i didnt have enough space to dl oddworld so im trying to play through some psn stuff and delete it like v8 superstars, hydrophobia, re cv... gotta make some space...
(also messed up on deep breath medal on hydrophobia, great now i have to delete my saved game data and start over... fail)

Question for people with those 30 day PSN trials Sony e-mailed out a while ago, I've read that they require a credit card on file to be activated. Don't have a credit card, don't trust them with my debit info. If I got a hold of one could I just put in a bogus card number or do they actually validate it?

I assume you're well aware of how to go into game data utility and delete large patches, game installs that you no longer need, etc?
I assume you're well aware of how to go into game data utility and delete large patches, game installs that you no longer need, etc?
I never tried this before but what would happen if I delete the installs and/or patches then start the game up again?
I never tried this before but what would happen if I delete the installs and/or patches then start the game up again?
It would just have you install them again like the first time you played. The save data would still be there though.
FYI the PS store will be offline today from 8 am to 9 pm PST due to scheduled maintenance.

Omg! I saw your post this morning, but figured you meant 8p-9p. Checked the link because of Netflix, which they don't list! Ah well, atleast there is an internet browser with crackle.com for free movies.

How often do they do these super-long, daily maintainances? They should stick to overnight. I haven't noticed the daily ones before.

you can still get into netflix! If i recall correctly i think you have to keep trying to log in or something. I remember doing that to get onto netflix back in april when the the psn went down.
Baseball Stars 2
Baseball Stars Professional

Any good I have only played the first one on nes
Baseball Stars Pro was good for its time, but it definitely hasn't aged particularly well. It's average at best for an early 90s sports game.

Baseball Stars 2, on the other hand, is the best baseball game out there IMO. While it's not as over the top as NBA Jam or the first few Blitz games, it moves a lot quicker than your average baseball game does. Just do go in expecting deep mechanics or even the ability to play a full season. Neither games have anywhere near the team management features present in the original NES version. They're more focused on pick-up-and-play approach, these are arcade games after all. The characters are pretty colorful and are very well animated, however there aren't that many different character models. BS2 is one of the few sports games that I go back to from time to time outside of RBI Baseball, Baseball Simulator 1.000, or Tecmo Bowl. If you pick this one up there's really no reason to even give Baseball Stars Pro a second look.

Thanks for the tip!
You can get on Netflix by just logging in and going to Netflix like normal. It doesn't seem like they're blocking logins for this maintenance.
After 2 or 3 tries, I stopped.

Snkp really dropped the ball by not adding trophy support to the games. There are tons of ways to get them for cheaper, in bundles, etc, and virtually no incentive (besides the laggy online) to buy them again. Such a shame, I would have grabbed a good number of them.

For instance, Metal Slug in the SNK Arcade Classic collection has some pretty bad input lag, almost to the point where it's impossible to play seriously. Yes, the PS3 versions are still expensive even when they're on sale, but it's also the best versions SNK has offered to date.

I wish SNK had triphy support as well. If they did I would be alll over some of them, in particular Baseball Stars. I loved that game back in the day.

If you've previously downloaded the demo for a game, and then buy the full version, do you have to redownload the level with the key, as it offers when you finalize your purchase... or can you just download the key and boot up the demo. I'm talking Rochard here...

Just boot up the game after the unlock key is installed.

Generally there's just a key you need to download. I'm almost positive with Rochard you just need the key. Just buy it through the game and it will take you right the buy page and let you download the key right after.

Trine really is an awesome little game. Great graphics and fun mechanics with levels that dont take forever so it is pretty good for a quick level or two and then you can replay them for all the experience. Cant beleive it took me nearly two years from when I first downloaded it to play it.

Now I cant wait for Trine 2 to go on sale so I can buy that too.

Trine 1 is awesome, probably one of my 5 favorite PSN games.

Anyone get Cubixx? How is it?

After playing the Eufloria demo, the controls feel kinda rough, like it was 100% built for PC. They just don't transition well to contoller inputs, I think I'm going to pass on it. It should have Move support, but I don't think it does.

Was debating Payday, not sure if it was popular online, but seeing it at #4 I think I'll get it.
Is it just me or is the store down, AGAIN????!!!!!!!
I'm not sure what's going on. My basement PS3 connects to the PSN store fine. But my PS3 that's upstairs 20 feet from my router hasn't been able to connect for the last 4 days.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it. Disgaea games are cheaper at Gamestop than the PSN currently(unless I'm overlooking something).

Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness - 9.99 (PSN is 14.99)

Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days - 14.99 (PSN is 19.99)

Disgaea Infinite - 7.99 (PSN is 14.99)

Edit:
Actually, it looks like all NIS psp games are cheaper at Gamestop than the PSN except for Cladun 2. I think NIS had a sale recently and GS tried to match it, maybe?

It shouldn't be any surprise that retail PSP games are being sold for cheaper than the PSN versions. PSN is no Steam, they aren't exactly aggressive with their pricing.

You know hes not talking about retail games. Hes talking about digital versions being sold by GameStop. His links don't work for me So I checked for myself and they have some pretty good prices on there

I agree that they weren't emulated that well. I have a Neo AES and a Neo Cd and have those games already. Trophy support would have given me incentive to pick them up on the PS3.

Added the NIS games to the OP. Thanks for pointing that out.

If you're interested in PSP games, there will be two dual pack bundles on PSN next week with Loco Roco/Patapon (currently $38.98 if bought together) and MotorStorm: Arctic Edge/Twisted Metal: Head On (currently $29.98 if bought together) for $14.99 each.

Played Payday tonight for the first time. I thought it was excellent. Not the most polished shooter, but definitely a ton of fun, and a pretty solid shooter. Definitely worth the $10...glad I got it!
seems that way, i cant redeem points
Yeah. They must have went back offline to fix the cards issue. I thought my $10 psn card from Best Buy was rung up incorrectly or something and they said to call Sony/playstation.

Don't bother calling their customer service. I got some useless filth on the phone who tried to take me through 'the steps of re-whatevering' after she said psn was up, then hung up when I said "let me check the ps blog, I can't be the only 1 with this problem". Purely useless.:hot:

You will be better off doing a search or risk ending up with a drone with stock recovery nonsense.

Thanks for the heads up Frisky...I've wanted digital version of Loco Roco and Patapon for some time but can't bring myself to pay full price.

Too late. Already wasted 50 minutes on my plan. Much easier to understand than Xbox support, but just as unable to help. Time to google.

I went to preview the Capcom Super Pack on PSN, which is on sale next week. However, when I select that (as well as the Capcom Combo Pack), I keep getting the message "This content cannot be accessed on your account."

Does anyone have an idea of why I keep getting this error? Please note that I did buy Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix about a year ago when it was on sale.

Bought cubixx, didn't realize you had to complete levels in 5 level blocks. I died on 15, so have to play 11-15 again. Kind of lame. Also, the trophies are just awful.

Ill play some more, but definitely a little disappointed with it so far.

Damn, I was just about to get it, but now it sounds like a pain.
