Was Warhawk a PS+ freebie at some point? I was looking at maybe snagging it while it's on sale but it shows that I have already downloaded it. I looked in my games list and it shows the Game Trial that I never activated. Is that it? Should I just try to redownload it and see what happens?

Looking at some of the Welcome Back games, would people recommend Dead Nation or Super Stardust HD? I like Geometry Wars well enough though I'm not very good at it, so that makes me a bit leery of SSHD. Thoughts anyone?

Also, does anyone know their normal prices? Thanks!
Anyone know where Beyond Good and Evil HD is? It was supposed to be posted today.
The June 8 release date was only for Europe. It's possible it will be out on US PSN tomorrow, but I think it's more likely that it will be a couple weeks before it's available.

Both games are supposed to be rather difficult, so I guess it depends on whether you'd rather shoot asteroids or zombies :) Super Stardust HD is regularly $7.99 and Dead Nation is $14.99.

There is a demo for SSHD, so you can try it out. None for Dead Nation, though.

i'm gonna wait until june 14 to activate my free ps+ trial so i can get braid since there's nothing i want until then.

@JustYourAverageJoe
Dead nation is gorgeous but it is extremely hard to see on my 30 inch monitor. Stardust is fine on smaller displays. Also, if you are planning on getting the ps vita and would rather play stardust on that unit you may not want the ps3 version.

Both are great. Neither are super original. A bit of googling will let you know exactly what you're getting re: both.

Only the 3 dlc expansions were made free around the beginning of +. Makes me want to buy it for $10. I owned the disk but sold it and then got the dlc for free after which sucked. Might pull the trigger soon. Good game to have around me thinks.

Oh, crap. Apparently, my copy of ACII from PSN doesn't recognize my save from my disc copy of ACII. I really don't want to start all the way over...

Does anyone recommend any of the modern warfare 2 map packs and more importantly does anyone still play them?

I always get leery about mp map packs because 1) it divides the player base and 2) people usually repeatedly play a select few maps regardless of how many there are

This is why I download everything that goes free for PS+. I didn't have Warhawk and now I'm thinking it's a good time to snag it. I snagged the 3 pack of dlc when it was free and $10 sounds like a good price for this considering the retail disc is ~$20.

Also thinking about snagging ACII. I have ACI but couldn't get into it. Although I didn't try too hard and I'm willing to give it another chance. Should I go ahead and get this bundle? I'm hesitant since there is multiplayer in later games and I always default to 360 for multiplayer games and I prefer to keep all the games of a franchise on the same system. I already have ACI on PS3 so it would be a hassle to switch. Should I grab the ACII DL on PS3 or sell of my ACI and get it for 360 later on if my interest is rekindled?

COD is one of the few series where investing in map packs makes sense. MW2 is popular enough that it'll have a dedicated group of people playing long after MW3 comes out. The game is smart enough to match you with other players who also have the same map packs and you'll end up with a very even rotation of all the maps.

Has anyone else played the Eat Them! demo?

It has amazing graphics and plays like a 3d Rampage. It has pretty weak reviews but I would recommend checking it out (demo).

so why is megaman legends 2 avatars ps+ discount coming out next week?

in fact why are there megaman legend avatars at all? is capcom taunting me? Why would they flaunt their failure to bring the legend games to the psn right in my face.

That just makes me rage.

anyone else having trouble getting Assassin's Creed II to load the save file from disk version?
I got it to finish up after selling the game but won't read the previous files from disk... any help?

If you have not played AC2 I absolutely would not recommend skipping this deal, AC2 is leaps and bounds ahead of what the first game was. Brotherhood does have multiplayer, but I still wouldn't pass this up.

*Hated AC1 and tried it because of how improved people said it was*

End of the day...I still thought it was a vastly overated turd. I really do not see what people see in that series. The gameplay just struck me as sluggish and like a crappy PS2 game.

That's strange. I wonder if the system is recognizing the deluxe edition as a seperate version of the game... all the other full-game downloads have worked fine with old save files.

It was really boring. It has some neat features, like unlockable character parts that change your characters moves and stuff. Other than that, It doesn't expand much beyond what you see in the demo. The maps change a bit, but you'll be ready to move on to something else after about 5 levels.

did you guys see all that free content that was up last night for Playstation Plus? I skimmed a few pages back and didn't see it in the OP...

like..that Magic: Duels of Planeswalkers was free, Lilo and Stitch PS1-free, 2 MAG DLC packs free, 3 minis free!! I downloaded a sh*t-ton of stuff last night and didn't pay a dime! Welcome back indeed :D Thanks Sony!!

Yeah, i didn't buy it. i was just wondering if anyone else was impressed by the graphics.

I didn't play AC1, so I couldn't have been swayed as to how improved AC2 was. As a first time player, I thought it was incredibly boring as well. The combat may have been improved, but it still sucked imo. It's sad because at that time I even thought to myself, Uncharted 2 has better stealth elements than an assassin game.

Anyone know when we are getting more games on the PS Store (not just a PS+ update)? I need another PSN card, trying to figure out then I should go and grab one.

As for AC, its a real pet peeve of mine. It drives me nuts that in my mind the gameplay in that series is just broken and horrible yet its a GotY nominee/winner every year with a huge following. People can like what they like, but it kills me seeing that game along stuff like Uncharted and Mario.

Edit - And I agree with the guy raging over Mega Man Legends. Capcom has said they cant rerelease those games because of some liscensing issue...yet they are teasing us with crappy Avatars...sigh.

What specifically do you think is broken about it?

I am on record saying that in 1 the pacing was awful, the characters were unlikable, the combat was bad, and the weapon distribution (as explained in the story) was bad. The missions teetered between boring or broken.

I hated myself for even considering purchasing 2, but it ended up being my favorite game that year. Every problems was fixed by the 2nd game- and polished to a high shine by Brotherhood.

The control concept used in the games is fascinating. The traversal in AC is unmatched (and a LOT deeper than I think most casual players realize) and the flow of the combat has gotten a lot more polished in the recent releases. They've even managed to add in some fairly enjoyable meta games.

It sounds like the argument earlier in the thread is that it's not a stealth game- but I don't think it's really trying to be. There are stealth missions, and you are given the option to go undetected, but you could sound all the alarms and fight off the horde of guards until they are dead, or if you want just run away after the primary kill (jumping through fruit stands and using benches and hay).

(sorry- that ended up being a lot longer than i thought)

+1. A polished turd is exactly how i would describe the Ass Creed series. You know the modern warfare 2 "twist" with the final boss being WTF stupid. Thats Ass Creeds 2 entirely storyline, with crappy combat, boring repetitive missions, and useless "stealth" gameplay. The parkour and settings are the only thing Ass Creed has going for it in my opinion, but that is not a game, its a travel show with climbing.

For many, once the novelty of the settings and the parkour wears off, your left with 15 hours of crappy game and story. Just my and many other's opinions. $10 is still a good deal though. No worry if you like the game, but GOTY contender? No Way

At the end of the day- if you hate it you hate it. I loathed LA Noire, but some people are claiming it is GOTY material.

I just don't know if I'd go as far as to say either are broken.

Skipped AC1, watched some youtube videos to catch up, finished AC2, but by the end of it I felt like I had my fill of the gameplay and didn't really fell the desire to buy AC:B, especially since the story in the present didn't really go much of anywhere over the course of the game.

I would say AC2: Deluxe is definitely worth $10 for the gameplay.

Thing is there are lots of games I hate but I can see where other people think they are quality(Modern Warfare and most other miltary shooters, Heavy Rain, Braid and Portal just to name a few). With the AC series I just cant see the quality. Its not a matter of not liking or liking its a matter of just completely not seeing what game mechanic makes it great.

As for whats broken. Personally I feel the combat is completely broken. It just feels sluggish and janky.
No. What you're talking about is EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

- 1. Go to QRIOCITY.COM and sign in.
- 2. Select "Media".
- 3. "Magic the Gathering: Duels..." expires 12/1/11 (for me)

Now if I look at my copy of Magic on my PS3 it doesn't list that it expires, but clearly on QRIOCITY.COM it lists that it does, which also happens to be true.

I just reverified this right now.
Quick question, my plus content says it will expire 7/3/11, but i decided plus is worth the price of admission so I went and got a 1 year card and put it in and I'm now my plus is good til 7/2/12. The expiration dates however did not change, does that mean my content will still expire on 7/3/11, or will the date change? Thanks in advance!

I've looked into this, as far as I can tell, the two saves aren't cross compatible between disc and download versions, unfortunately.

That's fair. The combat in AC didn't really get good until the most recent entry when they added in the kick and improved the kill chaining.

I may give it a shot eventually, but I doubt it since thats what people said about AC2. It just seems to me that every AC follows this

Gamers - GotY!
Me - What....really? This game is broke.
Gamers - OMG the AC sequal is the best game ever!
Me - It seems just as bad as the last...
Gamers - No really, everything that was broke about the last game has been fixed.
Me - Wait you guys said the last game wasnt broke....
Gamers - O no, it totally was, but this one fixes everything
Me - Still seems broke
Gamers - Dont worry, the first two were broke but the new AC fixes the problems in the last!
Me - Sigh

I am just starting to feel like this is the Zelda series...the smallest progression gets treated like they changed the whole game and fixed every problem. It relies on its name.

You don't have to like every series out there. No they're not giant leaps; just don't play it and move on -.-

Over the past years I've tried to get into many "popular" franchises and some of them I just couldn't even bear playing for more than a few hours. But, others swear by them. What you see as a problem isn't one for someone else. So... just move on. What's the point in arguing? It feels like you're looking for someone to convince you that you're wrong when you've already made up your mind.

Not at all. I dont play the Modern Warfare games or most other shooters less I am at a friends house and its what they want to play. Same with sports games most fighting games and tons of other things.

I really do not think/believe I will ever like the AC series and there is a good chance I never play the next(and if I do and dont like it I am def done after it). However again I generally can see quality in things I do not like...but I just dont see it in AC. I am not trying to convince others nor am I trying to convince myself, just have a discussion while I eat lunch that blows a little time and if it changes it changes.

Question though...why are like 90% of your posts confrontational? Seriously most of what I see you post is arguing or making a snide comment.

Up until PrinnyOtaku got defensive, I don't think anyone was "arguing" in anyway that had to be put in check. I've probably had the harshest criticism for AC2, but I still said no worry if you like it. Other than the parkour and setting I would also have trouble understanding any praise though.

I always buy games to keep. I can usually tell by reviews and reaction to a game, then I buy it and add to my collection. In the last 10 maybe even 15 years I have sold one game. AC2. That says all I have to about my thoughts on the game and the hype that made me buy it.

That isn't any comment on the $10 deal though. You are just much better off expecting trash (which in my opinion the gameplay and story is), and then being surprised by some of the positives of the game. Going into it believing it will be an EPIC Perfect GOTY Game like many fans claim is probably going to leave you very dissapointed.

It's apparently a different SKU from the standard edition that is the basic disc version, so you'll have to start over. I decided to start over anyway and managed to get where I was before after 16 hours in just four hours.

You can redownload them to get the updated expiration date. The other option, which I'm not 100% sure about, is to let them lapse and it should just prompt you to check the store and update the license to use those games with the correct expiration date.

Thank god someone else I see posting agrees with me about LA Noire. I loathed the game as well. Horribly slow/boring. I just wanted to end the game and get to through the story and yet they wont let you skip hardly anything. SOOO slowwww.

Not sure if it was part of this weeks or last weeks sales but Young Thor which is/was on sale for $1.25 gets a damn strong recommendation from me. Iv been playing for the last 2 hours or so and its a really solid little action/platformer. Playing it on the PS3 and id say its a solid B- when compared to PS3 games but for a PSP game id go so far as to say B+ at this price.

They released most of it last week, so all that's left are a few stragglers that don't need extra updates to be released.
