This. I was waiting for some VR trailers as well. I’ve seriously been considering getting a PSVR this week, but I wanted to see what was coming in the future, and only seeing two or three trailers for VR so far is making me wary. Hope Sony doesn’t treat VR like it did the Vita.
A bunch of PSVR games have been announced in the past week, plus various others that were already announced previously:

Tetris Effect

Ghost Giant

Beat Saber

Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot

TranStar VR/Prey: Typhon Hunter

The Elder Scrolls: Blades

Trover Saves the Universe

Deracine

Already announced:

Transference

Firewall Zero Hour

Creed: Rise to Glory

Evasion

The Persistance

Star Child

Jupiter & Mars

Astro Bot: Rescue Mission

Vacation Simulator

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Mars

Dreams

Definitely check out the PSVR thread to see the news as it gets posted.

I watch every conference every year and it's not because I want someone to put on a show for me, the "bombardment of new games" is literally what I want from an E3 conference. Every time one of these guys breaks out a musical number or weird skit I usually just go and browse the internet until video games come back.
Well, from that perspective I guess the other conferences win (except EA, because that sucked).

For me the Sony conference was all about quality over quantity and that's what stimulated my pleasure centers.

And when I say quality, I mean both games and presentation. There was almost nothing I don't want to play at Sony's conference.

Noticed there's this Annual Pass thing that you can pre-order for Destiny 2: Forsaken, which is a season pass for the new expansion:

"Alongside seasonal updates and live events available to every Destiny 2 player, Forsaken Annual Pass provides bonus rewards and introduces three premium content releases (anticipated in Winter 2018, Spring 2019, and Summer 2019). The Destiny 2: Forsaken Annual Pass content and rewards will be delivered between launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken and August 31, 2019."

I didn't end up going to PSX because it's 2+ hours away but luckily I signed up my sister's name as guest and she was able to use my name and got in with a friend.

They're giving:

$10 for PSN Store

1,000 Sony Reward Points (basically another $10)

Fortnite Pack

Guacamelee! 2

TERA

Tetris Effect Theme

Warframe DLC

World of Tanks Viper Pack
It's not Guacamelee 2, it's the original game that they're giving away. Just has an image for Guac 2 on the app.

That "banjo plucking bullshit" was Gustavo Santaolalla, the guy that does all of the music for The Last of Us. It wasn't out of place in the slightest.

Rez Infinite Theme  9JLA-97NM-4GX5

Fortnite Avatar      QK7J-7ANM-RPQ8

World of Tanks Starter Kit      3M26-T3NE-6XJH

Wow season pass for the season pass? That's a new one... 🙄

I redeemed & added the $10 PSN code to my wallet earlier but now it’s gone. Anyone else have problems? I read other people codes weren’t working too.

i thought the conference was far better than microsoft's, but the presentation was awful

what is the point of the guy playing the guitar for several minutes before the Last of Us demo?  or the music before Ghost of Tsushima?

why was the Last of Us 2 shown in a church?  then that long delay between the next announcement having to listen to Ryan Clements and those other people talk,

then the show ended abruptly, the whole thing was a mess but the games were by far the best of E3 mostly because it focused on exclusive games that haven't been saturated with tons of sequels like Halo or Gears of War

1. The point of the guitar guy was that he is the composer for TLOU part I and II. The one in front of ghosts was for the same reason to play a song from the game which was heard in the presentation

2. If paid close attention you would notice that the “church” they are in, is model exactly like the “church” in the game. The building Ellie and her girlfriend is in is the exact same one the presentation was held. They were literally watching inside of a section of the game.

3. And sure the intermission was rough but at least they showed some things in between and that was the only time they did that.

Lol, yeah. I don't think anything will top a few years ago when Sony came out guns blazing at Microsoft. The "Official Playstation Used Game Instructional Video" is maybe the best thing Sony has ever put out at E3. That said I am not down on the conference myself, I want to play just about everything I saw there, I just didn't need each major game to have a music act before it.
That was the only year I watched an entire conference. A friend had a few people over to watch Microsoft's and Sony's conferences over a few dozen beers and a bottle of Crown Royal. Good times. Now I just catch the highlights after the conferences are over to avoid any filler.

I jotted down a list of all the games I'm interested in from E3 and beyond. Jesus fucking Christ.

Blood & Truth
Control
Cyberpunk 2077
Days Gone
Dead or Alive 6
Death Stranding
Déraciné
Destiny 2: Forsaken
Devil May Cry 5
Doom Eternal
Dreams
Dying Light 2
The Elder Scrolls 6
The Exorcist: Legion VR
Ghost Giant
Ghosts of Shashimi
Jedi: Fallen Order
Just Cause 4
Kingdom Hearts 3
The Last of Us: Part II
Life is Strange 2

Megalith
Nioh 2
The Quiet Man
Red Dead Redemption 2
Resident Evil 2
Sea of Solitude
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Skull and Bones
Spider-Man
Tetris Effect
Transference
Trover Saves the Universe
Twin Mirror
Unravel Two

Vacation Simulator
The Walking Dead: The Final Season
Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot VR
Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Last of Us is nothing without Joel; if this is truly focusing on Ellie then I just can't see myself playing it.
Maybe it's because I love games like Beyond: Two Souls and Life is Strange, but I'm very happy with Ellie being the protagonist. In fact, I think I may have enjoyed the Left Behind DLC more than the main game in some respects.

I completely stopped buying games for about a year and just forced myself to sit with the games I own and really assess whether I really wanted to spend my valuable time with some of them. If I did, I made myself beat it before the next game. It worked for me.
I really need to commit to this. After my PS+ expires in December, I plan on going into full 'radio silence' and just playing what I have. I've spent a ridiculous amount on games this year simply because they were on sale. It's just so damn easy to fall behind or get distracted by the latest and greatest. My backlog is really bumming me out lately.

I'm the same. I buy all the damn games but have barely any time to play with family and gym.

I really need to commit time to actually beating the games that I have.

I already have the Rez theme too:

That Tetris Effect trailer makes me want PSVR even though I they don't show any of the game in it.

I always find it interesting when people say there is *nothing* that they want to play. I mean, actually nothing shown has gotten them excited. I've yet to watch all the conferences, Sony's the only one I watched all the way through so far. But even with that little bit, there have been things that I'm at least midly excited for.

To the poster who said that they think this is their last console-generation, my guess is, you're trying to do too much. Like, you're looking for the next greatest thing from games. As a somewhat older gamer, let me pass a bit of advice - relax. Step away for a bit even. If you have a gaming "type", play something antithetical to that type. Or, you may be right, seasons change and so do hobbies. I personally keep buying games, but I intereact with the community far more than I actually play. It's just finding your current confort zone. That zone in your 20s is different from your tween years, different in 30s to 20s, 40s....etc.

Anyway, I'm probably buying Spiderman release day. It's one I can play in front of the kids. The best thing I can say about the TLoU2 trailer is that it makes me want to give the first game another shot (loved the opening section, bailed pretty quickly after that).  Happy about the free CoD and moreso for For Honor (PC) - which I liked playing, but not so much for full price. I really want The Crew 2 to become a good *driving* game as there were decent ideas there.

And, well, you know, Kingdom Hearts 3 but I didnt need to see anything on that; it's just a given.

Just actually watched the "showcase." What the Shaq-Fu?

In roughly forty minutes, there was a solo banjo song (yeah, he made the music for TLoU, I got it) followed by the most scripted looking gameplay sequence I've seen in a while, another samurai game preceded by a flute (or insert more accurate name for the instrument) solo, and a random E3 discussion show intermission. The fuck , Sony?

Call the other events generic, schizophrenic, or whatever, and throw in all the valid critical parody that Devolver Digital's E3 vids bring, but that was obnoxious.

Almost zero info. I pay attention to E3 press conferences and news for the information. Oh, that game I liked has a sequel or spin-off? Nice. That cool studio has a new IP? Wonderful. My console is about to have an update with a sweet feature? Gimme gimme. Gameplay videos are a bonus if I'm psyched about something and don't know what it is. Cinematics are useless, but still show you what they're going for. Concerts? Mother fuck ing CONCERTS?! Get out of here.

Best conference of all time? For reals?

Day One (barring awful reviews) for me this year:

Dragon Quest XI

Spider-Man

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

Soul Calibur 6 (If it actually releases this year)

Red Dead Redemption 2

Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise

Code Vein

Plus many more in 2019. I've accepted the fact that I will never, ever get through everything in my backlog so why wait to buy an anticipated game as long as I can afford it.

This guy gets it. Thank you for putting my thoughts in a way more eloquent manner than I could ever have. That Sony "conference" was a fucking travesty. This is what happens when you start getting too full of yourself.

The games were great. The presentation was awful. Flute and Banjo? Seriously? What kinda hipster shit was that?

I think all the complaining about the format is weird. I didn't thinks it was great, but the difference between pointless chatter from developers and executives and playing flute/banjo music is pretty much nonexistent to me. The games looked good, the way it was presented doesn't matter

I do have to try Spider-Man sometime....maybe pre-order, since I haven't played a decent super hero video game in a while, and I didn't really care for Marvel Heroes. The little bomb timed mission looked like a boring side mission, but all open world games seem to have their mix of boring side missions. Does look alright, though the blur happening in one fight I saw kind of messed with my eyes.

I remember nothing about RE2....so I will play that remake in ten years or whenever it's bundled on Humble.

Still need to play Nioh. Was burned out on Dark Souls 3 around when it came out, so I guess I'll try it sometime before #2 is out.

TLOU2 need to finish the first.

So far only for sure for September is DQ11. Wonder why no one showed any more RDR2 footage. It was a better conference than some at least, but nothing special IMHO. Least a lot of games are coming out, which is good.

Also about hobbies mine change all the time. Right now i'm exercising more, reading more, and trying to play board games more. I was out of video games a few years back, but am back for now.

I thought it was cringy how they had a panel talk about how great the show was. I think they showed 2 games in the first half of the show. If developer/executive chatter was that long in the other shows, it would be just as bad.

2nd half of the show was much better.

I think that bundle will be pointless for most Kingdom Hearts fans, since they will have already gotten the game collections. I'm just keeping my eyes peeled for some kind of special edition or preorder bonuses, because I'll definitely be getting it.

I skipped the DLC as I couldn't really identify with Ellie as a protagonist. She felt very much a vehicle for the plot in the first game with Joel being the real human element that bound the story. Will need to see more but if this goes all The Last of Tomb Raider on us, no thanks.

Right. . .and 16 years later is a little late to the party. I loved RE2 but the time to strike was after they remade RE1 IMO.
i don't think it's too late especially with RE regaining a lot of steam after RE7, the game we get now should be better than the game we could've/should've gotten 16 years ago

TBH I thought we were about to see RE8 and then was confused whether to be excited or not for RE2 lol. I'll probably play through it for the sake of nostalgia, but I'm tepid about the reveal heh.

I was the guy. And it's not that I'm trying to do too much. I've just become more of a "patient gamer" over time. Hype means very little to me now. Watching videos of a bunch of new or upcoming games doesn't excite me as much as it once did nor does it make me want to run out and do a pre-order. There was a time when I would have gotten that excited - probably during the GameCube, PS2 and original Xbox era. I also worked retail selling games back then and was more immersed in the gaming culture than I am now. But I do think that my interest in gaming might be leveling off now. Never expected that to happen, but methinks it's just the way of things. I have way more games than I will ever have time to play, so now I think I'm just going to play those barring anything $10 or below that pops up on CAG that strikes my fancy. I really don't buy that many games anymore unless they are really cheap. Truthfully, I just watched Sunday's Xbox live stream to get my Mixpot. But am I wrong? Anyone else feel the way that I do about not getting hyped over upcoming releases?

the two trailers i saw looked far cooler imo than any of the RE7 trailers

i liked RE7, I didn't love it and I would rather have complete remakes like this over RE8

The opening sequence is the only good thing about the game. It turns into Uncharted: No Fun Allowed Edition immediately after and doesn't relent. People tout its story and characters, but it's all recycled post-apocalyptic assets done better elsewhere. I will never understand why it's celebrated as the greatest thing to ever come out.

The "gameplay" trailer shown for the sequel is just more of the same from the first game except now they've ripped off Horizon's grass stealth and have shinier drab buildings in "4K." Hell, the only thing people are taking from the trailer was how powerful the gay kiss was. Just another brick in the wall of cinematic experiences only found on PS4.

Yesssss. New discounts are in.

I'm glad I waited from Saturday. Have a 20% off coupon from new PS4 console. Going to throw down on God of War, Nioh Complete, Witcher Complete, and maybe more. Traded in my God of War a while back, so I'm glad to get back into it.

Best conference of all time? For reals?
I said one of the best, not THE best.

Clearly this was a divisive conference, people either loved it or hated it (seems like more posters hated it).

I thought it was more enjoyable than any of the other conferences this year by far.

this is why i never come here for opinions on games i'm considering to purchase

only here will you find people that think the Last of Us sucks or a game like Sleeping Dogs is better than GTA or something ridiculous like that
