Anyone having trouble preordering a digital game, specifically Spider-man Digital Deluxe edition? I keep getting the error "We've encountered an error while processing your order. Please try again later."

Part of the purchase would be paid with an account balance, the rest with a credit card.
I just pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition right now - That being said was paid with an account balance only.

The problem with Destiny wasnt the story, the story was fine for what it was, the issue is that with Destiny 2, the first Annual pass, and now Forsaken and the annual pass for the other 3 DLC your dropping 150 bucks for the complete game...the issue is lack of content, I hope Forsaken is Destiny 2s Taken King but even then is it enough to bring back the playerbase? I question that
I agree that a 60$ game should feel complete. But if dlc is well done, passes over time totaling 150 or more are acceptable. Me as a software developer, gotta support the game developers. I played Destiny 2 for 3+ years. No way they could've been paid to keep going on a 60$ base game.

I agree, at 60 dollars a game the developers only really make money off of dlc the problem with Activision and Destiny however is the fact that they intentionally strip things out of their games so that they can be sold as DLC, its been proven time and time again. There is also a distinct difference between DLC and planned DLC, most games anymore come with season passes and planned DLC which tells me that more then likely that content was purposly held back from the game release to be paid DLC and thats the line where most people have and take issue with companies and their DLC antics.

Yep. I still remember when capcom released street fighter v tekken. And 'released' dlc fighters later that were already burned into the physical disc behind a lock. They even boldly admitted it.

I have also heard from people that the Forsaken “fixes” everything that is wrong with the game. At this point the game has already been released and had 2 DLC drops and they are just getting around to fixing its problems? After spending $100 at release to get the game and first season pass and being severely disappointed it’s a hard pass from me spending another $70 for the Forsaken and 2nd season pass.

This is where I'm at too. Another $70 so we can get content that should have been in the base game. I preordered the $100 edition cause I believed in their hype. No more... Even if it makes the game perfect I can't support this business model of taking things away and give them back to us like a hostage situation.

DLC and expansions forced me to choose between games and dating. The expenses are destroying me financially. And I'm tired of being a virgin in my late 40s.

It's good to see Sony still supporting and getting headlines for PSVR, even if it's just repackaging stuff into new bundle boxes.

Does it say anywhere what games count towards the Countdown to Launch games?

The web page says you have to buy 2 "eligible games" but I can't find a list of what games are included/excluded.

A bit salty on my end as well, as I bought the $100 edition as well. However, I wouldn't say Forsaken was anything besides a concept by the time the game came out. Forsaken feels similar in scope to things like WoW expansions, with how Destiny flies the pseudoMMO flag. if you mean the post launch dlc, an argument could be made about Curse of Osiris, but I'm doubtful even that had much time to develop considering its lack of content. I should also say that I'm only talking about Forsaken, as the annual pass has nothing released yet. That's a wait and see what content is being included, as I'd rather not pay the $30 upfront without knowing what I'm buying. I'm not faulting you for hopping off the bandwagon, though. I guess I may just be projecting justification for my own doubts lol

There is also a distinct difference between DLC and planned DLC, most games anymore come with season passes and planned DLC which tells me that more then likely that content was purposly held back from the game release to be paid DLC and thats the line where most people have and take issue with companies and their DLC antics.
The problem here is that all these lines are invisible. That is, there's no real way to tell what was planned as DLC versus removed. And there's no real difference between the two other than wording to begin with.

I mean what if they plan to have subplot as a 15-minute section in a game, but realize it's so cool that they can expand it to a stand-alone 2 hour experience that does better service to the Source material. As an example, a flashback to when the protagonist is younger... if this decision is made a month before release, does it count as cut content or perfectly fine DLC?

Or what if they realize a certain chapter of the game destroys the overall pacing? Removing it improves the game, but by itself it's quite fun. Is that okay to sell as DLC?

Why in the world does it matter when they develop it, or think of it? How can you even know? It's immaterial.

. What does matter is very simple ... does the base game have enough content, and is the DLC well priced.

While I miss the days when a lot of this stuff was free as hidden or unlockable content, I also like that it's much easier for them to release expansions and new content. Worrying about when the DLC was conceived seems beside the point to me.

I know you didn’t quote me on this, but I wanted to jump in. I have no problem with when DLC was concocted. My problem is the quality of the base game and expansions vs price. If I’m going to end up getting the Forsaken for it, it will definitely be down the line when it is much cheaper.

I also have no problem with when it was created. Maybe that writing team was done a year before the coding team was done. I don't mind. It's when you take decent game (D1) and strip it down and then sell us back the pieces over several different DLCs to get to something that even resembles a complete game. Vanilla D2 had enough content for like a week. They're selling us an MMO experience without the content to back it up. That's what I take offense to.

I was thinking about God Eater and Sword Art Online myself, since they're so cheap. I just don't know if I would actually play those games. SAO is supposed to have a really bad translation, and God Eater is just more Monster Hunter.

Question about the Countdown to Launch promo, do you have to buy both games on the same transaction? Or can you do it in separately, say like I preorder Spiderman and then preorder Red Dead a few weeks later before it comes out.

Far as I know a preorder won't let you add anything else to the cart so you have to preorder games separately.

I haven't yet made the time to play through the copy of Kingdoms of Amalur I have in my backlog, but I loved the demo for it and have heard nothing but great things about it!

THQ Nordic is really starting to specialize in scooping up old/dead IPs- let's hope it works out for them!

That's cool, I really liked Kingdoms of Amalur on the 360, though I never quite managed to finish it. I just hope the release is less buggy than Titan Quest, even though I'm still enjoying playing Titan Quest, despite the bugs.

"Works out for them" is the key. I hope there's money in their strategy because it's nice to see a company taking a different approach to the industry than just running towards what the current trends are. Unfortunately, they seem to be sinking a lot of money into things many people got tired of. I guess as long as they manage things better than the old THQ they'll be OK.

I want to get Spider-Man but I just started Horizon Zero Dawn and Infamous Second Son lol. I'm playing Infamous more right now and it feel like a Spider-Man without the web slinging. The CAG in me is making me wait, so I'll wait a couple months.

OMG. I always forget just how SLOW PSN downloads are. Got Spider-Man at 6 pm EST and it still has 5 hours left! On my Xbox One X, it would have been downloaded in an hour.

Guess I won’t be playing at midnight. :(

Most of what I've seen them doing is remastering games from almost every IP they've acquired and seeing what sticks to be worth investing in further, which isn't a high risk strategy. Darksiders 3 seems to be their first expansion into original games from their portfolio.

There's basically no chance of a Flash Sale tomorrow, right?

Too many Flash Sales recently, and Sony will want all eyes on Spider-Man...?

I find it weird when some people have this issue. I bought God of War 9pm when it came out and I had it by 9:30.

spiderman sure has got a ton of hype. millions of fanboys willing to spend 80 bucks on a preorder. I'm sure it'll be a great game, but i'll wait
