:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Sure hope this new update to CAG isn't broken for weeks like when 3.0 came out, at least it's not white.

Great month if true. Naturally I regret buying Transistor for like $10.

Not sure what the source is, but Yakuza 4 would be a kick to the balls of Yakuza fans that bought it last month when it came out during PSX last month. However, I'm not surprised that Sega would kick their fans in the balls.
I see what you did there because that's all SEGA is good for these days.

Haven't heard of Apotheon but it looks pretty neat and Kick & Fennick has some potential.  Rogue Legacy, Transistor, and Yakuza 4 are great to have.  Thief is middling but it's a retail game at least and now I don't have to buy it.

Actually I'm pretty excited for Tuesday.

I really like that Yakuza 4 is in this months lineup. I hope it means that more will buy Yakuza 5 at launch. Yes I know we're CAG but that's one game were every sale will matter. I would love the Yakuza prequel or Ishin...too much good to not get.

Very excited for transistor as I missed the sale last month because I got a ps4 right after it. Also really wanted to try apotheon.
Exact same here. I'd been waiting for a sale on Transistor since getting a PS4 for Christmas. I'd considered buying it, but held off because I thought I wouldn't have a PS4 any time soon.

I'm sure it won't be enough to get you to "turn your ps4 on"

I'm happy to get Rogue Legacy(I was one wishing it was on sale so this is even better) and Transistor.

Just looked into Apotheon as I wasn't sure what it was and it could be interesting.

I have Yakuza 4 so I might trade it in but more likely to keep as I think I could only get a couple bucks for it.

Really good month for me.

I've wanted to play Transistor and I held out on the $8 sale on it before because I thought it might go PS+ and thankfully it worked out.

Apotheon looks interesting and I'll at least try it out

Yakuza 4 is one of my favorite games and it's one of my favorite series so I am glad that people will get to experience it and possibly drive some more sales for Yakuza 5 so that we possibly get more of the games. It'll be one of the few I buy day 1 and at full price

Thief I doubt I'll play, I don't like stealth and I have heard it has a lot of technical problems

Rogue Legacy really looking forward to trying it out

Kick & Finnick I know nothing about but doesn't look like something I would be into from a brief search

Yakuza games are the only ones I still buy at full price. I don't gamble much, but c'mon SEGA, papa needs a localization of Yakuza HD collection!

Great games this month on PS+, unfortunately for me I already own Transistor and Rogue Legacy. I wish my PS3 didn't break down years ago, I would love to get Yakuza 4 for free and I believe that is the best game out of the bunch this month. Hoping to get some games I don't already own next month. Apotheon looks interesting and will probably be the only thing I check out this month from the freebies. PS+ once again delivers over GWG, Microsoft is so hit or miss with the GWG program.

Yeah I need that Yakuza HD collection too! Yakuza 5 is something I plan to pre-order once the US version shows up on Amazon.

I'll lock in the license for Yakuza 4, but I'm happy with my disc copy.

... unrelated question...

I'm considering grabbing the EU version of Way of the Samurai 4 for my PS3. There's no region locks on PS3 right? So really I could get some imported Yakuza as well (just wouldn't be able to understand it) as well right?

...

PS+ for Feb is really excellent.

IGN Italia's review for Rogue Legacy...

It is because there is a serious risk that Rogue Legacy steps to "play with the champions that make fart" because of its characteristic in most shows.

I'm sold!  Actually, this was a game I wanted but never got because I didn't need to spend any more money for a game I'll never get to.

And now it's free! I can't wait to make fart!

Transistor is incredible.  People who don't want it should download it anyway.

I am very happy with the announcements for Feb.  Really surprised we are getting Transistor, as I held back for a cheaper sale to buy it (I honestly did not expect it to be offered on PS+), so this is a big win. Only game I owned before was Rogue Legacy and I am glad everyone gets to play that gem of a game. Get Rogue Legacy!! Such a good game.

Btw, for the other people wondering if PvZ Garden Warfare is still active on the ps3, I ended up grabbing it and tried a handful of modes this afternoon, and I've gotten into decent sized matches pretty much right away every time.

There is a huge active community for PS3, my son has been doing nothing but playing that game and he is just 2 trophies away from 100% it.

Nice list of PS+ games for next month.  Rare that I don't own one or more of them from prior sales.

Almost bought Transistor and Rogue Legacy from all the positive talk in here about it, so it was good that I waited.

How long is the average playthrough for the Transistor? Is there post game story?
Maybe 8 hours for you first run, probably less, depending on your play style? Great game. Like, really good. Sort of a modern, streamlined, western take on a SRPG with beautiful graphics and a 'real-time' element than can either be ignored or used entirely depending on your setup.

You unlock 1 of every 'component skill' during the first playthrough -- these can be stacked with each other to modify each other -- you have 4 main slots (each button) and can modify with other ones you aren't using, for example, giving a melee attack splash damage.

In NG+ you get harder enemies and since you have dupes of skills have a whole new set of options at your fingertips. Personally, I though NG+ was superior, simply because I preferred the added challenge.

Bought it yesterday and played some matches. It's pretty active.

I'm stoked and super excited about Rogue Legacy and Transistor. They were both games I were planning on picking up when it went on sale enough for my budget but nothing beats free.

This is quite easily one one of the best months during the ps+ :ps4: era. Transistor, Rouge Legacy, and Apotheon are 3 games I'm really excited to play. Kick & Fennick looks cool. The :ps3: is meh to me though, still have  Yakuza 4 on disc and I beat Thief on :xb1: and I still have the game. Love this month though.

If i hadn't already purchased Transistor, this would probably be one of the best months for ps+.

But im really looking forward to Rogue Legacy, was waiting for a sale on it so this is even better.

Apotheon looks interesting so i will definitely play it.

Kick & Fennick looks a lil kiddy, but i have a soft spot for platformers so i will give it a chance.

Good month for both ps4 and vita.

I wanted Rayman Legends and Rouge Legacy. 1 out of 2 isn't bad! :)

I'm happy to be getting Thief.

I don't know or have any interest in the other games but people seem to be excited about transistor so it seems like a good month!

Yakuza 4, sweet. :D

Rogue Legacy is a great addition, too.  I already bought it on its PlayStation release (after already finishing it on PC), but it's an amazing game.  Perfectly suited for Vita, with its 5-15 minute rounds of dungeon runs.

Yeah I need that Yakuza HD collection too! Yakuza 5 is something I plan to pre-order once the US version shows up on Amazon.
Unfortunately, there isn't going to be a physical release in the West for Yakuza 5. It makes buying day one harder for sure, but I still intend on doing it to support the release since I feel like it actually matters with Yakuza even though I normally hate day one purchasing and spending so much money on a digital release.

I think every sale counts for something like Yakuza, which always teeters on the brink of localization. I've never gotten through an entire one, though I've tried. Ridiculous amount of content, for sure, simply ridiculous.

Well... crap. Like a lot of you i bought Transistor about a month or so back when it was on sale. Thats alright though i guess. I dont mind supporting the dev a bit, and now i have a permanant copy. I was actually wondering 2 things to those that play it:

1) do you need to play Bastion first? I've been holding off on playing Transistor because i havent played Bastion yet. Though i do own it. I dont think the stories are related right? Even if not, i was thinking i should play their older game first

2) did you guys play it in real time or SRPG style? I kinda want to go SRPG, but it seems like real time would be easier

Also: Rogue legacy. Is that cross buy? Will we have a ps3 or ps4 version when we get the vita version for free? Been waiting to play this game, i hear its great.

the vita sales have been lame. Need another anime sale or something
yea, was wondering if it was just me. It seems like most vita sales are pathetic for anything but the indie games, doesn't it?

What the fuck is your problem

I said it has a Suikoden vibe because of all the recruitable characters. I didn't say the game is like Suikoden overall. You don't do quests to get party members in Fire Emblem either so I'm not sure what you're getting at.
? whats your problem? i never swore at you or insulted you but youve done that twice now. Whatever man, breathe.

Did people actually use the Youtube app regularly? I used it once or twice until the shitty way that it requires a ton of memory card space to let you watch videos got in the way of my desire to be able to store games on my memory card. It was such a terrible app, so if Google doesn't want to make it a better app, then I'm fine with it going away for good.
my niece used it a bunch, thats about it. If it works fine in a browser though i guess its fine to get rid of it

Hello Vita Nuts!!

I just recently got a Vita, and I can't wait to use it! Here are the list of games I plan to get in the near future.

Final Fantasy X-X2 Remaster

Injustice Ultimate Edition

Persona 4 Golden

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace

Soul Sacrifice

Tales of Hearts R

Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Now I'm asking..is there any hidden gems I should try or add to my list of vita? Much appericated!!

well there's the disgaea and atelier enhanced ports which have the dlc included and some extra content. However the atelier titles are all digital only so they really aren't worth it unless you can nab them on a golden week sale or something. Rorona plus vita I wouldn't bother with since you can get the ps3 version cheap right now anyway and its physical.

Disgaea 4 has a demo and was pretty great outside the awful voice volume and really bad grid controls. You have to practically turn off all the other volume settings to hear the voice work.

Hearts r and persona 4 are prettymuch the top titles on there along with ffx. Unless you like super niche stuff I doubt you'll find anything else enjoyable. I'm hoping they decide to localize innocence r.

It is short but Tearaway is great if you like platformers.
Freedom wars
Destiny of spirits

Noooooo!!!!! I really wanted a physical copy as I imagine since this is touted as the biggest Yakuza game that it will eat the most harddrive space. I'm thinking it'll be Uncharted 3 level of harddrive eating. Plus I like to have physical copies of game series I am passionate about. Maybe if it sells well enough they'll consider a limited run or something. Either way, I guess I'll probably get it digital if the price is right. If it's priced too high then I may wait for a sale despite how much I want to support the series.EDIt;

Edit:

I wonder if we'll get that 15 for 15 sale today?

If you have any interest in visual novels or Phoenix Wright type games, you should try Danganronpa 1 & 2. And if you haven't played it on another platform, I think the Vita version of Plants vs Zombies controls perhaps even better than the PC version (blasphemy I know).

You like JRPG's, look through the PSOne catalog.

I have two 32GB cards and a 16 and I'm having to go through a bunch of PS Plus games right now to make room for the future. Cleared out around 6-8 GB so far, mostly a lot of indie stuff that didn't hook me. Playing Thomas was Alone right now, about an hour in, surprised how much I'm into it even though I have completely ignored the story. I liked Zombie Tycoon II until the stealth mission. Played several fighter for about 5 minutes. Never been a Tekken fan, disappointed Soul Calibur PSP doesn't have a story mode.
