Target has Frozen Anna dolls w/ dress for $20. (Won't let me check out. Bet they're already gone.)

I'm not paying $8 more for Elsa.

Why can't I add Hotline Miami to my cart on the PSN store? :???:

EDIT: That was fast--complaining on CAG wins again!

Yup. On the blogcast the guy was like "and I'd assume it's a 3-way cross buy. Wait, no. My producer is telling me it's not 3-way crossbuy. PS3 and Vita are crossbuy, but not with the PS4 version"

Lame.
Found this in the blog post announcing Resogun Vita:
I am pleased to confirm that these two versions will be cross buy — so if you own Resogun on your PS4, you will be able to download these for free!
So either the blog is a dirty liar, or the producer is. I vote producer (please).

Why didn't I already install GTA 5 before I was ready to play it?  Waiting on an update that is 1.23 GB is not fun.

ETA: And now a lengthy install process when I launch the game.  Awesome!

Download global assault on iOS or android from kingreate for $5 off any purchase gamestop coupon

Edit: nvm, I see I'm late with this news
Reading through that thread and seeing people wonder if they can stack multiples, not to mention people bragging about getting multiples (make sure you put that on your list of life's accomplishments), led me to post a little gem that I'm sure will get deleted.

Women are so impressed when nerds have stacks of coupons. Makes their panties real wet.

You know my favorite thing to do on Saturday morning after a long night of drinking?  Video game business related math!  Are you guys ready!??!!?  Of course you are!

The Ethan: Meteor Hunter guys put together basically a 2nd postmortem about the game, with lots of sales details.  The game has sold 112,567 copies now, a huge jump from just the few hundred copies they sold at launch last year.  Here's the breakdown per platform:

  • PC - 105754
  • PS3 - 4050
  • PS Vita - 2763
Despite the gigantic difference in Units sold, the revenue per platform is quite a bit more balanced:

  • PC - 57%
  • PS3 - 26%
  • PS Vita - 17%
This comes from that fact that it was in 4 different PC bundles where people are just basically just paying pennies for the game.  The RCR guy just posted something very similar pointing out that revenue on consoles is way higher than on PC.

The Ethan guys also said that they sold about 60% of their PS3 units and 65% of their Vita units on discount.  The game has been on sale tons, but usually $4-$5, I don't think it's ever been lower than $4 on PSN.

With those numbers they've shared, you can calculate how much money they've made on the game.  Using $5 as the discount price on PSN and $10 as the full price, revenue per platform looks like:

  • PC - $62,500
  • PS3 - $28,350
  • Vita - $18,650
  • Total - $109,500
That's honestly not that bad for a game like Ethan: Meteor Hunter I don't think.  It's a rather generic looking puzzle-platformer, so I think they've done a pretty decent job of maximizing potential revenue so far.  But it's also less than $1 per unit, highlight just how huge of a discount those bundles on PC are.  Also important to keep in mind that that $109,500 revenue is before any per-unit fees they have to pay to Sony/Steam/Publishers/etc.

The article has more info about how many people have actually played through the game (not many) and some other stuff as well.

http://gamasutra.com/blogs/OlivierPenot/20141218/232669/Ethan_Meteor_Hunter__The_bomb_of_an_indie_platformer_that_sold_100000_units.php

And they're working on a new game that does look a bit better.  Looks like it's only for PC right now though.

Basically, pc players are cheap dicks.
That's usually the issue when you release a good indie game on PC. The usual thought process is oh, it'll be in a bundle for cheap down the road, be 75% off or higher on Steam at some point, or even less than that when a site like nuuvem has a sale.

I started Titan Attacks on PS4 last night and got to wave 40 (I think) but I didn't choose my upgrades well and got stuck at the boss since I was saving after every level. What a waste. Basically, upgrade your gun power and number of bullets first along with the add-on upgrades. You'll be super powerful. I was being dumb and wasting money on shields a lot.

This morning I started it again on Vita and just got all the Trophies. You guys were kidding with how quick and easy the game is. Now I need to figure out what to play next.

Back from breakfast with Santa at Dairy Queen. This Santa looked a little more legit, as in no blue tshirt hanging out. She was a little less amused between having just woken up and still having her cold. I'll post the pic later.
She got to spread her germs to other children, thats what matters. God bless the holidays.

The fact that I'm primarily a single-player gamer means that I would probably get far less use out of an XB1 compared to the PS4.
I like co op play and single player stuff not big on competitive MP. So I would want Live. Gears of War will be the test for me. If I don't get a XBox One to play that I probably wont bother till it is under $200 in a few years if ever.

Yo Rainbow Moon vets,

I remember peeps posting some stuff about when and where to grind or something or when to go to some island or something. Am I making that up? Any tips?

Enjoying the game so far. Not too far in. Just took my first raft ride to a new land.

Stop resisting. Tell me stuff about your guitar to get yourself in the mood.
My main guitar is a Breedlove Black Magic (http://breedlovemusic.com/guitars/stage-series/concert), but when I play Rocksmith I use my cheap but awesome Schecter Damien Special that I got for like $200 on Amazon when they had a crazy deal on it. I love that guitar - it makes me sound way better than I am and it's so easy to play.

For bass I play a cheap black ESP LTD B-50, but I think it plays and sounds great.

jesus simm did you just do all those simpsons trophies in one sitting?

Speaking of which, room for one more Wednesday night for hot Simpsons coop action.
Bums and I played a little yesterday, then I decided to try Expert to see how far I could get solo. I finished with 3 continues left and I was fucking up a lot, so I think we won't have any issues at all when we play. You guys can run and hide if you get low on lives since I can join back in if I run out of lives.

Plus you need to spend $40 to $50 for a Live subscription if you want to play anything online.
It really shows me how turned off I've become to Microsoft that I'm not even considering this deal. Of course, last gen there were some seriously ridiculously good games that you had to buy on either 360 or PC for the longest time. Games like Mass Effect and Bioshock eventually came over to Sony and were available on PC, but games like Tales of Vesperia (NA), Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon were 360 only. I also loved the Guitar Hero/Rock Band games, and those were supported so much better on 360 by the devs and had way better peripheral support.

And XBox Live Arcade exclusive games used to be awesome. Splosion Man rules, both single player and co-op. Shadow Complex was great. Super Meat Boy. Dust (eventually came to PS4). Bastion (but I guess that's coming to PS4?)

Now? I don't see any reason to own both consoles. I guess if I wanted to play a Tomb Raider sequel (kinda), but for just that? I'll wait until it comes out on PS4.

Best Buy making all their $10 Vita games $5. Mostly stuff that's been free on Plus except for Resistance Burning Skies & Little Deviants (which I'm actually considering because of that high TT score).

Resistance is the only thing I would have bought at that price, but it's unavailable for shipping and in no stores around me. :-({|=

Prediction: grim fandango won't hold up well when rereleased and everyone will be disappointed. Some people will still insist that it's the greatest game of all time.

Yeah, coming from the thread where people mention how they go to gamestop to play a game for a week and return it for a full refund.
which doesn't affect digital sales at all. also, that's pretty much just one guy doing/saying that here. we already know he's a flippin cheap dick.

I can not for the life of me get in to this game. I even like the genre, but I always feel lost and underpowered.

How far in are you? I thought I remebered people saying to grind at this one spot before you go to this other spot so you won't be underpowered, but it was long long ago.

Wait, did you not take x5 experience for your second playthrough from the grade store? Then you can cook the miso item that gives x2 experience and they stack. Then go to the secret dungeon, you'll gain a level almost every battle.
Just clearing the secret dungeon got me 40 levels so I think I'll be fine. It's probably my favorite part of the game too. So just a bit of grinding, balloons (ugh), and manic and unknown left.

Well I pulled the trigger on Little Diviants for $4 after GCU. Scheduled to arrive Jan 6. I'm so weak. So very very weak.

Same place as you I think. I haven't really done any grinding yet and I'm getting my ass kicked because of it. I have a hot date with resogun on vita next but maybe I'll alternate that with rainbow moon and try again.

Balloons suck. Basically you're going to want to set two artes for every character - one that can hit things in the air, and one that can move quickly across the battlefield. And set your skills so that you never run out of TC/TP. Then you have to get lucky on some.

Let me know if you have trouble on manic/unknown. It's pretty easy with the right setup.
