IIRC, Best Buy has never given certificates for anything that cost less than $59.99, so you're very likely out of luck there. A $10 gift card like Shadow Warrior had would be pretty sweet, though.
Don't worry I called ahead and told them it was for the Off-Topic PSN Thread, they said no problem extra $10 :)

Well at $32, $7 for the extra 2 episodes isn't bad though. I really enjoyed 1 so I'm hoping this is good. Fingers crossed.

Interesting. I just reread it and I still can't see how anybody could come to that conclusion from what I said unless they just glossed over it and made assumptions about the content.

Here's the post. Look over it again and point out which part lead you to that conclusion:

Will you give him a $20 PSN credit if he does?

If you read it this way, then you ignored the context of my post. I compared it very clearly to how some people cannot see HD vs SD or hear lossy vs lossless (I can't hear lossy vs lossless, btw.) Unless you're going to argue that not being able to discern between those things makes you dumb, then I'm not sure how you could equate my statement to saying people who don't notice characterization or plot problems are dumb.
If you can't tell the difference between HD and SD, then that's probably something with your vision. Lossy and lossless is probably something with your hearing. What would you say is going on with a person if they can't tell the difference between something being "good" or "bad" (in your opinion)? Dumb may be an oversimplification of your context, but you're still positioning yourself as being better than others and coming off like a douche as far as I can tell.

BTW I have to ask--do you people who complain about me having issues with shows/games/etc. consciously decide to ignore that stuff, or do you honestly not notice it in the first place?
Mainly that part in particular. Kinda implies that you think you're "smarter" and pick up on things that others don't have the ability to.

Like I said you may not mean it that way, but that's the vibe I got it from it.

Can't we just move on from this? Please?
It would make more sense to post this in reply to munky bringing it up than my responding to him bringing it up. :whistle2:k

Since we've had a couple pages now that were pretty heavy with people apparently misinterpreting my posts, it makes sense to ask what lead them to do so.

I think I have pretty low standards for media consumption. but I also never watch movies and tv is generally just background noise while I putz around on the vita. very few shows can manage my full attention. is the acting good on american ninja warrior? I dunno, it's probably ok I guess.

I just watch / listen / play whatever I enjoy. sometimes whatever that is has some pretty subpar quality but I don't really give a fuck. it's not like I'm choosing to play evil within over curing cancer, my lazy zone out time isn't all that valuable. if I miss the hundred greatest movies of all time because I run out of time before I die I'll still die and that's fine by me.

Also you are all welcome that I have yet to get another trophy so we all get to bask in the glory that is Lionel Messi.

I CANT QUIT YOU MESSI.

In no way, shape or form would I ever defend the CAGcast, but I was not watching it to see the Transformers blow shit up. I was watching it because I took my kids to see it. It was god awful. One of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. Bad acting, bad story, bad everything.
Again bad acting, bad story, bad everything....doesn't = Transformers transforming and explosions. All 4 movies are the same. Awful Awful awful until about 10 minutes of fighting, CGI, and explosions. So I'm not sure why you would expect anything better. Complaining about bad acting and story in these movies is like :wall:

I think I understand whay you were TRYING to say, it just comes off as very pretentious and demeaning.

My wife can't tell the difference between HD and SD movies, but we only have a 32" TV. When you are sitting on the couch watching a movie, I'll admit that to me there isn't much difference either. Still I always rent movies in HD because HD. The solution to this issue is big ass TV, but so far my wife isn't going for it. :) Well, we don't exactly have the money for it right now anyway….

It was directed at both of you; your post was just the more recent one.

The acting certainly isn't the main issue. I had never seen a transformers movie before this one. Now I know why.

Transformers was way better than I thought it'd be.  Sorry if I don't give a fuck about how women are portrayed or genuine character development in a movie about giant robots fighting each other.

You are talking about the latest one? Wow. I mean that was just one issue with it. The movie was awful in so many ways. But hey, it looks good on you.

Some of those levels seem impossible to get 3 stars. Have you completed the game yet?
not yet but I haven't run in to a level that seems impossible - a couple seem like they'll take an insanely good run though and some you have to cheese for score (like the first boss). I might be on the second to last leg of adventure (finished all the levels after the emerald boss but still one star short). I haven't gone back to try and improve scores but it's getting easier to 2/3 star levels on the first try.

I want to plat this. that coop is going to be the killer. chewy - how hard is the coop for three stars?

I think if I had four people offline, it would be a piece of cake. I was playing with a friend who has never played it before and did okay. And when I mean okay, I mean one star. There were ten levels you had to three star if I remember correctly.

I might make a vist to my old roommates. They are gods at 2D Geometry wars.

Perhaps I am "pretentious" when it comes to that Transformers movie. For me it is a rare example of a movie that I wished I'd brought my Vita to.

All the Transformers movies are literally the same movie. So it doesn't matter which one. Dumb kid, Hot girl objectified, Annoying parent(s), ridiculous story, Transformers, Transforming, CGI, Explosions. Done.

The next movie will be the same thing.

wait, it's up to four players? man that sounds awesome. I wish I knew four people in real life.

Yeah, I was playing it with me and my boys. So three of us and it was pretty awesome. But unfortunately I think they thought it was too hard so I'm not sure I'm going to get to them to play it again.

So you loved Pacific Rim too then?
I liked the idea and story of Pacific Rim (the idea of the two pilots minds merging), but not a lot of the execution (other than the fights themselves). I don't know what happened that the acting in that movie was so distractingly terrible as normally that particular director does a better job.

What about blu ray vs DVD?

Pacific Rim was a fun movie. I even liked the non-fighting parts unlike most it seems.

You're not THAT far off, watch what happens when they watch the first 3 simultaneously.

Our 32" TV is only 720p, so it's the same as a 720p digital rental. We are far enough away from the set when watching a movie that you really can't tell much difference between 720p and upscaled SD. I'll get a better/bigger TV one of these days, but right now it's not feasible, especially with Xmas coming.

I wish they had the original 2D square grid for co-op. Then you could abuse the corner by two shooting on each side and the other two hitting the middle.

Oh and I absolutely loved Pacific Rim, Transformers not so much. I would have never seen a Transformers movie if my friend wasn't such a huge fan.

That's a good lesson to teach your kids.
That they should decide if a game appeals to them on their own? Yeah, that's a terrible lesson.

Actually I don't know if the difficulty was the issue or not. I'm making an assumption there. Which Benny Hill taught me years ago to never make. ASS-U-ME. Maybe they'll even want to play it again after all. That would be great. I will certainly ask them to.

Any time someone starts talking about how the transformers movies are dumb, that they objectify women, that they're racist, etc., it's pretty clear that person is a fucking retard and doesn't understand that transformers movies are made primarily for an audience of teenage boys. Not every movie has to be some Oscar winner that's trying to send a fucking message. Sometimes I just want to see robots smashing each other and hot chicks running around a war zone with hardly any clothing on.

I liked the dinobots in the most recent one though. They looked cool and stuff. :whistle2:$
true christmas story: as a kid my parents had gotten me the transformers set that had bright green construction vehicles that assembled in to a big robot of some sort. at some point I figured out where they were hiding presents, so I would sneak in there in the morning or late at night, carefully take all of them out, play with them (complete with making sweet sound effects) and then carefully put them back in the box.

my mom eventually figured it out and I think she had every intention of punishing me, but I don't think she went through with it. at least not completely. so I did not learn any lessons at all! a merry christmas was had by all!
