In regards to Club Nintendo, it sucks for the people who are buying a New 3DS that they won't get that big allotment of points from the console to use before the whole thing shuts down.
Just do it the Nintendo way, buy the old one get the points and then buy the new one later. :whistle2:k :nottalking:

And I wish the Danganronpa physical release was cheaper. Don't want to spend $20 for it digitally. Going to hold off, probably spend more for the cart and just hope to recoup my money on it when I'm finished. Or wait for $10.
No gamefly?

Could also do the gamestop rental.

You can also grind with yourself to get the MP trophies, as the guide on PST.org said it will usually match you up with yourself. Not a fun way to get all the MP kill trophies, but an easier one.
I doubt I'd do that. Deaths come hard and fast in Duke 3D, I can't imagine 500 kills would take long at all.

Lego Batman 3 on the Vita isn't bad at all as far as collectibles. The levels are all short and they tell you exactly what you should be looking for so it's a breeze to run through it again. Plus the second time through it's fun to actually be able to use all of those unlockable characters
I would have enjoyed LB3 a lot more if I had just rushed through the first time instead of getting as many as I could on the first try. Eventually I figured out you can tap the R1 or pyramid buttons at the prompt in order to do a quick change into the character/costume for a particular prompt. For quite a while I was holding them down in order to bring up the menu, then choosing the character and costume manually. That was so incredibly tedious. It was still tedious to tap first the character and then again for the costume, but much less so.

LB3 was my first Lego game. I'll probably play another or two and see if the rush method makes things feel less repetitive enough that the games are more fun than they are annoying.

Squeenix sale, looks like the usual suspects. Also, 2k sale looking pretty silly after today's announcement.

Edit - just cause 2 for $4 for anyone that didn't snag it through plus

Not to put down anyone, but after you finish one Lego game I'm not sure how you can play more. They all sound exactly the same and often the post main game stuff sounds like it's where all the cool characters are but also a painful grind or retread of sorts. More power to ya if you like them and I had fun with marvel, but I now take solace in the fact that I don't ever need to play another one. Unless they make Lego Vanquish.
They definitely are not for everyone. I think for anyone on the fence about them they should play one of the Vita versions if they have a Vita. The time sync is usually significantly less. I have always enjoyed them, but they can be a bit tedious. I should know with the 20 plats I have from the franchise.

Lego Batman 2 and 3 for Vita are all I have left as of now.

EDIT: Woops, forgot Lego Hobbit PS4.

I've been holding off on gamefly just because I have a lot of games to still get through. Part of what helps the decision not to buy Danganronpa now (or FF14).

Eventually I'll get a subscription again, but lately all of those Best Buy $10 preorder reward deals have given me plenty to play without much out of pocket.

I have batman 3 as well, had 2 and not played it yet, so started it first.

I got a lord of the rings lego game for vita too, might play it next and then batman 3.
I will probably take a break from Lego games and play something else before playing Lego Movie on my Vita. Maybe Freedom Wars.

Yea I have a decent 5.1 setup (onkyo with def tech speakers) but I still like playing with the headset on for some reason now that I have it.
I have a pretty good 6.1 system setup myself. I still play more now with the golds on than without. Of course, I have 2 children and a wife who seem to make constant noise. The headphones shield that a bit.
I havent had a surround sound setup since college, but would probably rather have headphones on now too. The headphones are comfortable enough and help block out other ambient noise even if they arent truly noise canceling.

I played both Harry Potter Lego games within a few months of each other and I'm not even a fan of those movies. I haven't really enjoyed playing a Lego game since. I should have just stuck with playing Lego PotC.

No kids just me and the wife. Once I move my TV / games into the basement (another month or two) I don't think sound will be an issue. I get up earlier then her most of the time and when I do I have the sound so far down I can't really hear it. Shouldn't be an issue when I move everything down to the basement at the opposite side of the house from the bedrooms. But yeah I could see me eventually just using the Golds more (when I finally get them). I just can't bring myself to drop $99 plus tax on them.

I played Need For Speed Most Wanted recntly and still have to do the MP as you all know.  I want to start Rivals soon too.

Is that okay with you Pete?

$12 for Citizens of Earth if you're Plus, $15 if you're not.  So 10.80/13.50 with the 10% code this weekend, providing it works.  I'm going to download the demo but probably wait for a 50% off or more sale.

I have a 5.1 Onkyo as well but have some older Onkyo speakers that came with my first 5.1 Onkyo HTIB many years ago. Some day I will probably buy better speakers but it works well enough most of the time. Haven't set it up since we moved in November though.

Yeah, I can see not wanting to pay $100 for them. I definitely wouldn't have initially myself. Now, I would though.

I am in the basement myself. Unfortunately, when we got hardwoods upstairs the noise got really bad since I am right under the dining room, living room, kitchen area of the house. I think I would prefer to be under the bedrooms.

Are you guys all going to buy shit regardless if there is anything you want just because of the 10%? Just curious. I'm on the fence, hopefully there is something decent I want this week.

Sure, that sounds fine. Thank you for coming to me first to check. Never hurts to be too careful.

I started most wanted over lunch, it's fancier and more polished than I expected. I'm playing it while playing burnout on ps3 and restarting rivals on ps4, so there's that.

Actual driving game question - do you let off the gas, hold down the break, tap the break, or some combination of those things when taking corners fast in these games? Something I have never gotten a hang of.

No, that'd be crazy.

The stuff that's on sale is more likely to get an impulse buy, though. Right now I'm thinking Legend of Mana since I've never played that and loved Secret of Mana. Maybe 3rd Birthday depending on the price.

Depends on the game. Usually, yes. Sometimes the game has a good enough e-brake/drift type setup where you can take corners and not lose much speed.

I bought a pair of Golds through Amazon Warehouse Deals for just over $70 since I have way too much Amazon credit and nothing to buy. The description made them sound like a dinger (packaging damaged, but otherwise never opened), so we'll see.

This will be a similar setup so might end up just going for the Golds. We had some work done in the basement last week and at times you could really hear the people talking just as clear as if they were just down the hall. Will have to see how it works out. There is carpeting downstairs and the utility room so I could see sound being an issue at some point.

I tried to get in on the $39 and later the $49 deal and also some deal at NewEgg ($69?) but it went out of stock while it was in my cart.

Watch gameplay videos for Legend of Mana first, as it's not nearly the same as Secret of Mana. The music is pretty kick*ss, though.

Hey guys, if a lot of you feel the same as tyler I've got no problem leaving. Seriously... no hard feelings at all. No sweat off my balls (you have to buy my used games for that).

If a couple of you speak up and it gets a few likes I'll gladly walk off in the sunset.
I like you

I don't think you're an ass

Depends on the game. I'm slowly working through WRC4 and all you have to do to kick into a nice drift is tap the brake. Other games I've played handled a bit different. Just experiment with the timing.

And goddamn you for spelling brake wrong. I typo'd it until I caught what you had done. :wall:

I will probably grab the Jackbox Party collection. Wanted to wait on a better sale but might just grab it now anyway. Don't think I will buy anything else. Only saves me $2.50.

In Burnout and Need For Speed its all about a good combo of tapping both the brake and e brake and turning all about the same time. And when you slide around the corner turn back into the slide and time some speed burst or nitro whatever as your coming out of the slide. It seems to make you come out of the slide faster, but don't overdo it as you may just waste it or spin wheels too much.

Like I am a mutha fuck ing expert.

Hopefully yours comes with the wireless dongle.

I bought 3 pairs from AWD, one had the wireless dongle.

The one needed for plugging into the console for the headset to communicate with? Pretty damn useless if that is missing. From what I recall of the packaging, someone would have had to purposefully be going after that for it to be missing.

If you were planning to preorder Witcher 3 digitally the 10% code would be a good time to do it. It's already 10% off. Not quite GCU's 20% + $10 reward points but something to consider if you don't have GCU and don't plan to ever trade in/sell the game.

I'm not sure I want to know anyone who fits into both of those categories.

Yea the little black box thing you plug into the usb port.

My guess is the people who returned them left the usb thing in their ps3/ps4 and forgot to put it in the box when they sent them back to amazon.

I bought one pair, didnt have it. Next time some came in stop on awd I bought 2 pairs at same time. One of those had it, the other didnt. Would have been really pissed at that point if both didnt have it.

Did either one of the AWD listings you bought sound like a dinger?

I don't know what stage of grief I'm currently in or why I keep torturing myself, but here is how much room Morgan Burnett had after his 4th quarter interception when Peppers told him to go down because it was in the bag we won we're going the the Super Bowl fuck!

Or someone bought 2 pairs, returned one sans dongle so they could play with both systems without having to move the dongle. Granted I am not sure if the headset can pair with more than 1 dongle or not.

If it would, I would give Sony a few bucks for a second dongle to set that up for myself.

Yea but thats completely dickish, so doubt thats what happened.

Going with my honest mistake theory.
