It seems like things have been tense around here lately. Let's keep it fun and happy :)

Any of those games any good/fun for some that hasn't played any of them before? I mean I've heard of them, but have no clue what they're about. Turn-based strategy?
I highly recommend watching gameplay videos as they're definitely not for everyone. They're also not turn-based strategy--a more accurate description would be "repetitive (but not necessarily in a bad way) hack-'n'-slash".

I dig me some hack-n-slash. Maybe I'll look into some of these a little closer if the prices are tasty.

Pinball league is $5 a week (for a prize fund) for a 6-week league.  Machines are played with my own funding and the end of season tournament is all free play.

That sound like a good deal Chewy?  Not sure about rules and all that crap.

The batman/superman trailer leaked and polygon isn't happy about it:

http://www.polygon.com/2015/4/17/8439181/batman-v-superman-trailer-leak

I didn't think it looked that bad, but it's hard to tell. It's really dark and shaky. They're doing that think that people for some reason like to do with trailers where they make the booms on the music super loud and ominous. There really doesn't seem to be much to tell us what's happening. But we're still a full year away from this one coming out.
I'm no advocate for the film Man of Steel, I thought it was pretty mediocre but what do they want? It's a fuck ing teaser trailer. It shows just about as much story and lack of context as the first Star Wars 7 teaser trailer.

Our league is $40 for a 10 week season plus playoffs. We pay for our games except for in the finals. In our case all the funds (but coin drop goes to the location, of course) go toward prizes (which for my specific league, the prizes are cash) and for food/soda (BYOB) for an end-of-season party that is always pretty great.

What's the league called? We are the Free State Pinball Association. There's some leagues around the country that use our rules or variants of it.

East Side Pinball Leagues (boring). Member of Twin Cities Pinball Circuit maybe?

Here's their website if you want to take a gander.

I wish they had their league rules online, though. Want to see how it works there.
Yeah me too. I just emailed them to get rules/league workings info. I'll let ya know what they are when I see them.

Also just realized that Cue Ball Wizard is another machine they have that I have on PA. Score!

Just drink Surly or Steel Toe and you win by default.
I don't know those beers so I can't comment. Hop Ranch super good, though, but they don't have it on tap any more.

I tried the Sweetwater 420 again last night and I liked it more this time. Also had a Starr Hill King of Hop again. I like that one a lot.

You definitely do not drink bad beers. Surly Furious is a world class IPA though. Some locals I know and trust claim Steel Toe Size 7 is even better. Of course, they both make a lot more than those.

The beer available in the Midwest is just in general better than what is available in the NE or down here. Too many of their great regional brewers dont distribute far enough yet.

Played 1 Dynasty Warriors game on PS2. It was fun. You basically ride into battle and kill a ton of dudes with your hack and slash skills, like a LOT of dudes like dozens at a time. If DW Gundam Reborn is a decent price I might pick that up for a change of scenery with similar gameplay.

edit; Bah, different publisher

By the way, I was surprised when I went to the Orioles game on Monday that Sweetwater is now in Oriole Park. I forget which beers they had, but the next game I go to I'll try one of theirs (they didn't have 420).

i haven't played one since i played next on the vita, but even on the vita i was getting 2000+ kills in a mission. i love how crazy it's getting now.

Was going to post a trailer of it and that's when I realized the Gundam ones are Namco Bandai published, so no sale on those.

I've enjoyed me some Surly Furious on a few occasions. I'll have to keep an eye out for this Steel Toe you speak of.

That is pretty shocking. 420 is their flagship. I am surprised they had any if they didn't have it. Their IPA is really good if you like grapefruit citrusy flavored IPAs. LowRYEder is pretty good as well. Exodus is a damn good porter. Georgia Brown and Blue are neither one very good, IMO.

Does that bowling alley have microwbrews? If not, I win.
No microbrews, but it does have Surly Furious bottles and the local Grain Belt beers.

The menu also has this monstrosity called "The Pinion":

A Mammoth double cheese burger topped with 6 pieces of bacon, 4 slices of American cheese, and a 1/3 lb of onion rings, totaling over 1.5 lbs!

hopefully those will be on sale too. they usually have more than one publisher involved in these flash sales. koei is just the one who's announcing theirs. seems like a hack and slash theme, fingers crossed for us both

Doesn't the 2nd part of that sentence contradict with the first part? Surely Surly Furious is a microbrew…. Maybe you mean on tap. So I still win.

Nope, Surly Furious is clearly listed under the "Bottled Beers" section of the menu and not under the "On Tap" section. And I thought Surly was all big time now and couldn't be considered a microbrew anyway.

Wait a minute... I forgot my IA bias....

Sony rules, Microsoft drools!!!!

Better?[/quote]

I guess between my high school writing skills and anti MS bias I could never be IA.

Sorry about that. But seriously do you still have the code?

looking forward to that flash sale. I really enjoyed all 4 of the Gundam Warrior games (which I know aren't on sale this time).

FIgured I'll give some of the samurai warrior ones a go. Although my knowledge of ancient Chinese/ancient Japan history is next to nill.

Well I guess I have to go to Dunderbak's tonight and see what is on tap!

The kid is going to be out at a function with the wife's family so I might get a little tipsy.
