$49.99--it comes with a Skull Kid figurine. Oh man, I hope Best Buy will carry this...
Must have!

Hopefully it opens for pre-order when I'm home as my work is a No cell phone environment

Knowing my luck I'll miss it ;-;

My mom has been having trouble with her Home Owners Association lately and they've been trying to buy up all the townhouses in the area. After all those arguments this past month my mom's car has been getting vandalized. Someone let the air out of her tires a couple weeks ago. Last week someone smashed in her driver side window. This morning someone stole her spoiler. There are a bunch of cars in the same parking area and none of them are getting messed with. It's obviously a focused, repeated attack. She's filing a police report and her insurance covered the window already. She's not sure what to do otherwise. She wants to move out but can't sell until the summer due to refinancing or some agreement a couple years ago. I'm not sure what she can really do. I don't want it to escalate to someone stealing her car. The sad thing is it's like a 2008 Ford Focus so we're not talking luxury or anything. There are nicer cars in the same parking lot.
Wtf is wrong with people?!

I would put out some cameras and buy your mom some pepper spray. Maybe stay with her for a couple of days so they leave her alone?

Am I reading this right? Your mom's HOA is purportedly vandalizing her car because of arguments with them about buying up the neighborhood and/or her not selling? Those hoa thugs are hardcore as balls, that's the same treatment my car got from two homeless dudes who were paid by the neighborhood drug dealer (long story).

Sorry about your mom, that's nutso.

That's fucked up that they would be that juvenile about it. People are the worst.

What were the arguments over? Her selling?

So I hope I didn't screw myself out of the full refund trophy in gta v. I transfer loaded my character and only 1 trophy popped, but I just kept playing online for a few hours. I got the 10rounds in survival trophy, but I was also mugged and then killed my mugger but no trophy popped. I decided to close the game and then when I reloaded the online all the trophies popped but the full refund trophy. Hopefully tomorrow one of you guys (gator/wren) can call a mugger on me and see if it pops. Thanks alot.

also I forgot to post this the other day but my son beat spec ops the line on his own. I was playing dragon age I mp when he ran in and told me he beat it. I went back there and yup the credits were scrolling on the page. spoilers
I asked him if he shot the mirror or himself and he said he shot the mirror. I'm surprised how he got past the helicopter and final battle runs, but he did it all solo cept that ch6 fall into the pit and then when I had to man the turret and you had to cover your squadmates. The material was way above his head but he said he was the blue guys and fighting the orange guys, haha. Crazy awesome for him to beat such a complex game, even on easy. oh yeah and at the end after the credits the army rolls in and he was about to shoot them all but he hesitated. He looked at me and I was like I think if you don't shoot them they will just drive you home, and he didn't shoot them and he got the go home alive trophy. He is too cool and still has morals. haha.
He has been playing awesomenauts and ratchet n clank all4one since then and those are alot more age appropriate. I can't wait til spring so I can kick him outside all day again.
I am not sure if I am high enough level to call in a mugger yet, but if I am I will. If not, I will when I get there. Sorry about bailing on you last night while you were doing the intro. I think wren and I were both up later than we expected after being up so late the previous night. I will definitely be online again tonight and probably for another 2 weeks at least.

It is probably just one rogue person that wants everyone to sell so they can cash out on whatever they got going on. It wouldnt surprise me if this person is friends with whomever they are trying to sell too and will get a kick back or something.

Its all about the Benjamins!

To spin Cleaner's story another way...

Cleaner, is your mom current on her HOA dues and taxes etc?   While I dont condone people vandalizing anything I can see where that would get irritating to some people if she wont sell and is behind on her payments.

Even if she isn't, they could just get a lien against her property. I will never understand why anyone ever gets so wrapped up in HOA bull shit. There is so much protection for the HOA and its rules why let it get you so worked up. Just use the processes at your disposal and chill the fuck out.

Yeah, I should have said that I was looking at a different angle as to why someone would stoop to that. Still shitty and dumb. But shitty and dumb is what I expect from most people.

Supposed to be 20ish here tomorrow with lows in the single digits.

Thats really freaking cold for here.
Yeah about the same here but we get colder weather. Still colder then it should be this time of year. Someone else called out in my department. Me getting out early today looks less and less likely.

Your office closed with 2-3 inches? For the love of pete....
2-3 inches of snow in a humid location that is not used to dealing with snow means ice. I know all you jerks from the midwest like to laugh at those of us in warmer locations about that. When it lands there it stays powder for the most part. If any cars drive over snow here and the roads are cold enough you end up with it all being ice. I don't give a fuck how used to driving on snow you guys are you cant drive on ice and it is what cripples us. Since we don't have the equipment to get rid of the snow, we always end up with ice.

Now, we have plenty of dumbasses that have no clue how to drive even in rain much less snow, so they deserved to be laughed at. However, nobody can drive on an ice sheet.

Sorry for the rant, it is a pet peeve of mine.

I've asked this question a million times and never get the same answer. I'd really like to give it a shot but damn is it overwhelming. I can't see myself sitting through ~30 seasons of anything.

Unless it's The Wire.
That's why it's advisable to just skip Old Who for now and watch the revival series. if you REALLY love it you can always go back later and watch Old Who serials others recommend.

We get the same shit up here with the powder to ice shit. Contrary to popular belief it's not always below zero here. I am overly cautious on snow/ice driving, probably pissing everyone off behind me, but I haven't been in a snow related accident since '95 probably. Not having proper equipment does suck though. I know it's expensive, but if it cirpples the city that much, maybe an investment should be made by the cities.

Mostly my post was me expressing my jealousness that you can shut down work with 2-3 inches of snow & icy roads. I've had to come in with straight up ice sheets and with like a foot of snow fallen.

In conclusion, fuck winter.

More due to the icy conditions than the actual snow, like Gator said.
I remember the wife telling me that her family was stuck inside their house for a week when they lived in Charlotte due to snow and ice. The snow was really high for the area but the ice was so bad no one could drive anywhere and they didnt live near anything that they could walk to. It sounded miserable.

Gather 'round, boys and girls... it's story time!
I said it was long, not necessarily interesting. Prepare to be disappointed.

About 10 years back I moved in to this chick's threeplex in midtown in kind of a shit part of town. Not the worst in the world by any stretch, but there had been a couple shootings in the block and robberies/car break ins weren't uncommon. Plus there was a small army of homeless folks for some reason.

Across the street from us was the friendly neighborhood drug dealer. He was the kind where people would come to his front door, disappear inside for a while, and come out a bit higher and a lot poorer. He didn't come outside very often, but when he did it seemed to always be conveniently when this chick I was living with was out there. He definitely had a thing for her. Which is weird, because her upstairs neighbor was waaaay hotter and had a pussier looking boyfriend. I went camping with everyone in that threeplex one weekend and I honestly had a hard time keeping my attention on anything but her. Jesus. Gotta stop thinking about this.

Anyhoo, so the drug dealer eventually noticed that I was parked outside every night so he, being up at 6 in the morning, decided to come outside and ask me about the situation when I was leaving for work. I told him the truth, that me and her were knockin da boots and that I lived there. I smiled politely, and drove to work.

When I came home, there were two of the 'regular' homeless dudes hanging around outside the apartments. In an unusual twist, one of them started talking to me, asking how I was doing, etc. It was really suspect as they usually ignored everyone. The next morning my side window was bashed in and everything that was in my car was taken out. The drug dealer was sitting on his porch across the street, 6am, just watching me.

I got the window fixed the next day, went to work, came home, and that night the same window was smashed along with the rear view mirror. I think my license plate might've been taken too on that one, I don't remember. Didn't bother fixing it this time.

Then something happened between the chick and the drug dealer - like he stopped her when she came out and asked her to come over or something? I don't remember. Some sort of conversation steered the situation in a new direction though - that night I had a tire slashed and she had her truck window smashed in. Later that week her apartment was broken in to and a bunch of stuff was taken. We told the cops about our situation and they just told us to go check the pawn shops, pretty apathetic about the whole thing. But who knows.

The two homeless dudes disappeared shortly after, not sure if they moved on, were picked up by the cops, or something else. The drug dealer stopped coming outside. We ended up moving to a better, drunker part of town.

Later on, she ended up ditching me and moving to Baltimore. I helped her move out there (another long story) and she was back in a shit neighborhood where, shortly after arriving, her apartment was robbed and her car vandalized.

So are we skipping TiT again this month?  Or did the Spelunky tournament spoil TiT forever?

I still nominate Whoa Dave! just because I like typing out Whoa Dave!

Not enough likes for this. It is the reason I never moved out of the south. Atlanta is really even further north than I want to be. Even I get jealous of wren and his weather reports this time of year. Granted, at least our summers are not quite as brutal as his.

I love the midwest, but I am smart enough to only go in the summer for the most part. I am not sure how you guys deal with all that shit every year.

I agree with this post. Whoa Dave has a trophy for putting in high score initials of POO.

The only redeeming qualities of winter is that it makes football teams uncomfortable when they come to play football at Lambeau Field and that it allows me to pretend I'm a real goalie during broomball season. Even if that pretending involves standing/kneeling/laying outide on a sheet of ice when it's -10.

So I have a favor to ask: since more than likely that damn majoras mask ce will go on sale while I'm at work, and unable to use internet/phone, would anyone be willing to preorder one for me and I can paypal you the money (with something extra for helping me) either before or after or whatever?

Glad you guys never got hurt though

Since this was the second time I have seen you mention broomball, I assumed it was not a mistake and googled it. I have never heard or seen anything about that before. Why do they call it broomball? Based on the pics, spatula ball would be more appropriate.

Clearly, those are the rich guys that can afford huge spatulas and a rink. Zimm and friends have to use dollar store brooms and play outside in negative too many fuck ing degree hell weather.

Yeah they do look more like spatulas now. In the origins of the sport, they used tightly gathered stiff brooms. It's basically the same thing as hockey, but with no skates and instead of a puck you use a ball bigger than a softball, but smaller than a volleyball, that feels like a volleyball. It's ideal for people like me that love hockey and want to play it, but can't skate worth dick. It's very fun with a group of people. My teams usually suck so I get a good workout in goal and stay warm for the most part.

All I know is that due to warm weather yesterday and then overnight frost here this morning was an icicle on the road. Took me 1.5 hours to get to work on a normal 45 minute drive and My car slid to a stop on what looked like dry road at least 4 times... but again nothing ever closes here... and I mean never!

Weak! i laugh at other cities when they shut down due to a couple inches, try negative 3 and 8 inches of snow... nothing was closed
Sorry. You lost every argument you'll ever be in by admitting to living in a place that hits -3 and 8 inches of snow and that it's normal enough to not be a big deal.

Unlike the punks in the picture, we have fancy shoes that we wear that feel like they have sponges on the bottom.

More Fallout is always a good thing, though.
As evidenced this morning when I started up the Old World Blues DLC. Now this is more like it! I wish there was as much imagination and humor put into the rest of the game.

Of course I just started it up, but it's off to a very good start.

Sad thing is it only hits the negatives maybe 3 days a year... but just saying the one day we have that, nothing closes. I had one snow day my entire life and that was because the snow was so heavy everyone lost power... other then that I have always had school and work.

heck one year it was so bad going to high school, the principle was outside helping park cars since you couldn't see the lines, and whenever anyone pulled in he would have to run because the cars were sliding every where and came close to hitting him
