Yeah, 2160p sounds dumb. 4K was weird at first but is much better than saying "twenty one hundred sixty p." or "twenty one sixty p"

Also I know you were kidding but I wouldnt bother with a 4K TV right now because nothing is shown in 4K yet and most TV is still 720 even.
If you are OK with not getting a 4K like you said, the older TVs like you are looking at are going to continue to drop over the next few months. Then they will disappear and all you will find will be 4K sets. So if you are not in a huge rush, you can likely get a much better deal than the one you are looking at if you wait just a little while longer.

With that said, I think that is a good price already for that TV.

Oh. I see. That was a joke.
Not at all unless I'm overlooking something. A bit of a grind on the online matches but there's zero requirement to win, just play. Everything else is basically playing the bare minimum of the game. I bet it's a 4-5 hour plat, and that's only because of the 1 hour in training.

Yeah man, everything will be dropping fast so I am not worried about it. I cant buy anything until this divorce is finalized. I just cant wait to have a huge TV hanging on the wall to game on. I will be buying a nice recliner too. Its going to be fan fuck ing tastic!

Got a 2nd MM 3DS console order in at Target.com. They say in stock right now for whatever reason, though lots of people think they'll get canceled. But I figured I'd grab a 2nd one in case it goes through.

Those LE prices are crazy....have me flip-flopping on keeping mine as well.
I got one as well, bet the guy who stood outside for 10 hours feels pretty damn stupid right now :D

They say about these curved TVs that everyone has the best seat in the house, but I don't see how that could possibly be the case. If you aren't in the center then the side of the screen closest to you is going to curve away from you. ???

Man, the actual 100% on this game is pretty brutal. An obscene number of collectibles and the races are already getting too tough for me. I'll be amazed if I manage to finish through most wanted #5.
Find a car you like, and pimp it out with all your favorite pro mods, and then use that car for all the most wanted races. I used the Chevy Corvette ZR1 for the last 2/3rds of the most wanted races as it has high top speed, decent acceleration, and good handling.

The MM N3DS is now acting weird at Target - add to cart is there, but clicking it just gives an error. So either they sold out or they are fixing the problem and yours will be canceled.

I agree. I heard that too and that is NOT the case. Just go look at one. Sit on the side of one. you miss half the screen! Its so dumb.

The Most Wanted races are really not that bad due to the rubber banding in them. You should definitely be able to get those.

The secret for the other events is to use the car that is easy or medium for that particular event. There is a large image someone posted on PS3T that shows you each race and which cars are easy, medium, and hard for each race. If you follow that, you should have no issues with any of the events really except for Needle Point which is the one that Owl mentioned. From what little I tried it, it is a bitch and a half. I am not looking forward going back to complete it.

The collectibles suck in terms of time it takes, but luckily 2 of the 3 types have in game maps.

The MM 3DS at Target has been live for hours.  It's always worth hoping that it will go through, but that just doesn't seem right that they'd have that many in stock.

Ohhhhhhhh, I guess I haven't paid enough attention. Some cars get the same races but are considered different difficulties because of the car? I'll go look that up, I'm definitely lost on which cars are good for what. Maybe I just need to do some homework.

You guys bitch so much about a few hundred collectables in a racing game that is fun yet you grind out the same dumb fights or hours of GTA online for 100s of hours?!!?  What am I missing here!!??!?!?!  What is wrong with you guys!!?!

Never mind, I just looked at DoA5+'s list by comparison, and it looks like you're right. Now I hate that I started that one.

The MM LE is at $140 Buy it now with free shipping on ebay.  Damn that would suck to not know how to use ebay and pay $200+ for it on Amazon.  I guess that's why resellers love stupid people!

Christine I also enjoy, though I would agree Shawshank Redemption is the best.

How is the adaptation of the Stand? I've been meaning to watch that at some point.
Stephen King is one of the few authors where I have read the books. I read The Stand and loved every second of it even though it was obscenely long (and I read the abridged version).

The mini-series was probably OK if you had not read the book. They combined more than a few characters to keep it from being longer than it was. I am not sure why they felt the need to do that when they could just make it a bit longer. The special effects were a bit low budget even at the time, so I am not sure if it held up well at all.

It might be more enjoyable to watch if you have read the book if it has been a long time since you finished it.

620 for both.

Holy shit.

Oh my god.  First everyone wants to schedule meetings at lunch time.  Then they want to schedule it at 1130 and they send the invite at 11!  on FRIDAY!

fuck.  YOU!!!

I can grind online fights while eating cereal or watching tv. I have to actually pay attention while I'm driving.

Also, shut your face.

Yea debating this too. I have shadows, metro redux, and soon the order. trying to keep the ps4 backlog down. Never really got into fc3 and this one is supposed to not be as good.

Although tyler got the plat so it must be pretty easy.
I wasn't overly impressed with FC4. It was a great looking game but I liked FC3 a lot more. Wish I had waited till it was around $20. I also wasn't crazy about Metro Last Light on Xbox360 either. Maybe pick up Metro Redux when it is under $20 and give it another try.

Movie. Didn't remember that there was a TV series. I don't think I ever saw the TV version.
It starred this guy:

I am an equal opportunity grind and collectible bitcher regardless if it is a racing game or not. With that said, those collectibles were not fun. Well... the billboards were kind of fun, the rest was boring as hell.

This one is up to $620 for just the console!

Jesus what is wrong with people? There is a $390 and a $440 BIN if you just scroll down a tiny bit. If I was leading that bid I would just not pay. Getting negative feedback is not worth overpaying for something by $200!

EDIT: lol person currently winning that bid has 0 feedback. Either it's a complete moron or just someone using a fake account to screw a reseller.

Wow that was way too much to pay! Maybe I'll just list my LE at the price I would be ok selling it at (around $200) and if it sells great and if not I'll keep it.
The LE consoles are going for 400.

LE game is going for 130-150, so 620 wasnt that crazy, guy kinda got a deal...

Loved The Stand as a book, but thought it was an absolute shit movie.

Needful Things was another one I was disappointed with as a movie. It wasn't bad, but mainly because the book is one of my favorites from King.

What I dont get is how you guys didnt have most of the collectables by just doing all the races anyway. I didnt have to grind that much to find the rest of the boards etc. Total time playing couldnt have been much more than 30 hours or so. And most of that was playing the game/finishing races. That isnt anywhere near the grind that it took you to finish GTA online (150 hours!). Same thing with Pete and his endless online fighting games.

I clearly like (arcade) racing games much more than you guys. I can race around to find a few collectable all day compared to grinding in other types of games.

So far I think 4K tv is much like 3D was. Remains to be seen if it will catch on. Most cable TV providers aren't going to be able to send much content down their coax (or via a Satellite either). So you will have boxes that have hard drives in them that get updated via BluRay discs or something. Just seems like it isn't ready for most people to invest in yet. And maybe never really catches on. Without a decent amount of content what is the point? I am sort of in the market for a 60 to 65 and I am not even considering 4K. I might hold off on this though for a while. About the only way it is remotely affordable is if you get a Vizio or something which in my limited experience are ok. I have a 32" that is like 7 years old and still works.

Have 2 stages plus a bonus stage left to finish off that long-ass PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate plat, at which point I'll move it out of bonus game status into yeah bitch I finished you status.  I've enjoyed playing it but I'm ready for it to be done after replaying stages lots and lots because of dumb cheap dying.  Probably polish it off this weekend.

Also have about 4 1/2 chapters left in the Uncharted 2 main campaign story for game #3 for Feb.  Currently in the long-ass
Monastery
.  Hopefully I'll polish that off tomorrow night.  Not sure if I'll go back and do a Crushing playthrough after I'm all done with the 4forFeb.  I'm barely making it buy in Hard mode.  Probably go back and get the rest of the non-crushing trophies though.

More gimmicks trying to get people to upgrade their 3 or 4 year old perfectly good TVs. 3d didn't make people throw out their 1080p sets. Maybe 2K or 4K or curved will. I think most of it is fairly gimmicky. 4K looks great but till my cable provider and/or FiOS offer a dozen channels I want to watch with at least 100 hours of programming a week what is the point?

Even better,

"I cant really tell any difference, looks the same to me!"

I know I haven't finished all the races, but how would you get the collectibles besides speed cams during races? I've done maybe 15 and only one most wanted race I can think of went through one billboard. Or do you just mean driving to them?

I think ultimately different folks can tolerate different grinds. I'm so far away from finishing these that I haven't even started trying to find them on purpose so maybe it won't be that big a deal. maybe I just won't bother. But I don't mind playing wheel of fortune by myself over and over. Go figure.

As someone who works in the telecom industry, I can tell you that you are wrong about the content. Even now, all the original programming from Netflix is available in 4k. DirecTv has already launched satellites to support it. The push toward switched digital video has gotten more momentum in the cable industry due to 4k.

It is definitely coming, and the providers are making their networks be able to handle it.

You can not compare it to 3D. That was a niche market for people willing to look like idiots wearing glasses in their living rooms. Plus there were technical issues with viewing angles. 4k does not have those problems and the low cost of entry is causing mass market penetration very quickly.
