TLoU Remastered is bundled with every new PS4 now, and as for new bundles, I think GS is including a year of PS+ with new PS4s, but starting 3/16 when this trade-in promo is over. If I wasn't charged tax on purchases made with trade credit (so a new one would cost me ~$80 after tax), I might have considered doing what AvengedBacklog is doing.

Just that for now but next week GS adds a year of Plus. I traded mine yesterday and will end up spending $55 for a new system, warranty, TLOU, and a year of Plus. Worth going without for a week...
 
Thanks guys, I'll finish up dead or alive tonight and if the value holds I'll jump in too and sell off the PS+ to cover some of the difference. My ps4 is having weird wireless issues anyways and I have one of the controllers where the rubber comes off, so seems like a solid opportunity to trade.

Thanks guys.  After thinking about it a bit more (while actually doing some work!) I will probably just stick with what I have on the PS4 front.  I forgot all the deleting and re downloading I would have to do.  And TLOU will be cheap enough as it is by the time I want to play it so unless something changes I wont dip into the new PS4 waters.

 
That trade in for a new PS4/PS+/Games deal is enticing, but there's nothing wrong with my current one and I don't want to be without the PS4 for a week. Maybe if the value has held all the way until the last day of the 50% bonus deal….

 
Also my kids don't have PS+, so no cloud saves, and I guess we'd have to back up their saves to a flash drive or something. Is that even possible? I guess this is more trouble then it's worth.

Oh come on. I didn't bitch about it that much! And so far yes. I know some others have had that issue with their controllers so they might want to try that fix too. It wasn't difficult, though you do have to apply some prying pressure to the bumper to get it to pop out. It did leave a little indentation in the surrounding plastic. Not a big deal.

I think some games have locked saves that will not let you copy them. They still work for Plus upload but not to a flash drive. I think those are pretty few and far between. Otherwise, yes, you should be fine doing that.

 
I dont remember the last time I saw Chewy bitch about something but I remember Gator and Mild bitching a lot about Most Wanted.  And big E keeps the bitching about that game alive!

Exactly my thought process. I played the original TLoU 4 times for all of the single-player trophies, so I don't mind waiting for the PS4 physical version to hit $10-$15.

 
I guess there's also the inevitable ps4 hardware remodel that we'll probably see next year to compliment morpheus. I'm always suckered into those things. But getting a refreshed warranty, new controller and a game for a couple bucks after selling the PS+ is still tempting.
 
Helldivers peeps. Do we think the Mech is OP? They are fun, but I miss different guns and having to drop ammo. Maybe the mech will be less effective at higher difficulty planets or something?

Next week the ps4 bundle will come with a year of plus as I understand it. I'd use that to cover the gap between the tiv and the cost of the new one. And, being gs credit, a lot of the tax is nuked since I'm in a state where I don't have to pay tax when using gs credit.
 
On an unrelated note, if the ffxv demo is a dlc code, I assume there are takers in this thread? Maybe it'll sell for a fortune on eBay, I dunno, but if not I'll have to figure out a way to give it away.

It'll be a DLC code, but since I have the Type-0 HD CE preordered at both Best Buy and Amazon (still not sure if I should cancel that second one), I'm good on that front. Thanks anyway.

 
Either I fucked up something bad or La-Mulana has a glitch.  I can't go where I'm apparently supposed to go because some thing isn't opening up like it should to allow me to move on.  World is called Gate of Illusion though so maybe I did something out of order in this very strict level.  But I also had what I think was a glitch earlier that wouldn't allow me to enter a door I was supposed to go in.  But then it magically worked when I reloaded a save.  But maybe that was part of OCD level world too.  Now I'm dizzy.

BTW, this game is rivaling Fez as one of the worst "Holy shit why so complicated and so many things and so many ways you need a guide to navigate and make any decent progress" games I've played.

 
I also severly dislike Monday mornings when new employees start that do the same job as you so you have to sit there pretty early on and tell them all the shit you do and try to stretch it beyond "I check emails, and check the bugs, and check the app."  

Have to think of a way to stretch it without the whole "pissaround on CAG" long part of the morning.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game. But sooooooooooo many ways to go and required items to buy. I don't know how i'd be able to be as far as I am (let alone past the first boss or two) without following an old text guide some GameFaqs did for the Wii version that came out years ago.

I'm at almost 7 hours played and I think I have 5 of 8 main bosses down. There's a trophy for beating it under 10 hours, but I don't think I'll make that, unless the end game comes quickly. So the content is there is spades.

Na, that doesnt sound fun. At. All. Too many other games to play than to be bothered with that. I quit Fez after a few hours because I couldnt get anywhere or do anything without a guide after a while.

You should never need a guide for a game. Huge pet peeve. I get collectibles guides, but to accomplish main goals? Ugh. There's times where 3d dot game hovers over this line too - the main quest stays on the right side of the line, but you really have to chat up npcs and make some exploration leaps without a guide for a ton of the side content. it annoyed me since the game was otherwise really excellent.
 
My coworker has a son and a daughter who I knew liked playing Minecraft on the PS4 that their dad bought.  I mentioned the Lego sale to her in case her kids might like those games since she had asked for suggestions before.  I mentioned it again today just to remind her the sale was almost over.

She told me she basically never saw her son this weekend.  He was apparently glued to the Lego Marvel game.  The one time she saw him he was on the computer.  When she went to see what he was doing on the computer, he was looking up youtube videos because he was stuck in the game.

You could tell she was a fan of gaming, as she has told me before, because her response to his addiction to the game was, "At least he is learning how to solve problems when he gets stuck."

No mechs are still fucking great but what I noticed with (high level) randoms is that usually save the mechs for the extraction and tend to walk a lot with the sprint skill.

Sorry I missed out on last night, I was over at a friends and played some diablo with her.

I might do this. I hate the thought of redownloading everything but both my DS4 controllers stick. I am going to try the 'fix' Crunchewy mentioned but it seems similar to what I did shortly after launch of the system. I actually took one of the controllers apart and didn't see anything to clean.

I already purchased a cheap code for The Last of US Remastered and already have Destiny digitally but could give the codes to my nephew. I know he wants Destiny and has played The Last of US but not sure he owns the disc or not for that one.

For $80 having a new system / warranty with at least one controller that isn't a POS would be nice. Being without a PS4 this week wouldn't be horrible. I can just play SR4 or something on my PS3. Plus I am working late Wednesday and getting home late Thursday too.

Anyone know if they take off for a sticky L1 or R1 and if so how much? I guess it is YMMV if they catch it or not. Last year when I had some GS trade credit I was NOT charged tax (NY) so that would further sweeten the deal.

I have to think about this some. Wish it was end of April when I get my bonus I would be all over this for sure. Would also upgrade to a 1GB drive (at least).

The n64 zeldas always made me feel like I needed a guide. It never felt clear what I was supposed to be doing so I'd wander looking for my next goal and end up chasing chickens or something until I totally forget where I am.

You clean the two guide posts. Be careful because they are thin. I used a slightly damp paper towel. They only looked slightly grungy, but it clearly made a difference. They also say to blow compressed air into the holes that those posts go into in the bumper itself, but I didn't have a can of compressed air. Maybe it would be worth getting one in your case.

Also you don't need to take the controller apart. You just pry up the bumper and it will pop up, then you pull it the rest of the way off. See the video.
