This (along with seeing at lunch that Donald Trump is leading the Republican presidential nominee list) is starting to make we wonder why we elect presidents and congressmen. I wouldn't want the CEO of my company to be someone that was elected by a popular vote. I would want them to be chosen by a small group of informed and involved people. Here's the standings for the first vote:

So it's an action beat 'em up, a "role-playing strategy board game", and a 3D platformer. Though I wouldn't personally vote for it, the role playing strategy board game (Armello) never stood a chance. I'd wager to bet that every month the most action-based game is always going to win. While I like most action games fine, I also like the variety that Plus brings. I agree with you, we'd lose a lot of the variety if this was a recurring thing every month.
Also, while most of us would probably do a bit of research on voting, the vast majority of voters are only going to look at the name and the image before making up their mind. I don't really want our Plus games decided that way, I'd rather have the crew at Sony make the decision for us, I think it would be at least a bit better informed decision.
I'm guessing we do public elections to avoid corruption (lol) but Christ, should everyone really get a say in it? I don't think I'm informed enough to have a say in who the president should be...
