Well, this sure came out of nowhere. Wasn't expecting a US release for this at all. Tentative date is March 3rd and price is listed as $29.99, but of course, it's subject to change.

Japanese version does NOT have online Co-Op. Only shmup that I own that does is Otomedius G

オフライン協力プレイ (offline Co-op)
according to the japanese website it doesnt. only online things are oneline rankings.

if it had this option: オンライン プレイヤー数 then it would be online play

It doesn't include Raiden 1, 2, or 3. It's the Raiden Fighters spinoff series. Proper Raiden 4 came out on the 360 in Japan, and we'll surely get it if this does well.
 
This game is shaping up to be the next Radio Allergy (Gamecube version)...

But we did eventually get to play it on the Wii...
 
Got Raiden Aces preordered at Gamestop. The shooter genre has always been one of my favorites, and I hope to see more.
As for Ultimate Shooting Collection, what do you guys think of Radio Allergy and Karous? I'm thinking about picking USC up since it's only $20, but Chaos Field was one of the worst shooters I ever played and I don't know about Karous and RA.

I was not fond of any of the shooting games on USC.

I actually enjoyed Karous, but it's still not a great game. Chaos Field and Radio Allergy are pretty weak in my opinion though.

The important thing to remember is that it was for the GC, which was completely dead at the time. The reason it was canceled was because nobody wanted to stock new Gamecube product. The 360 is doing juuuuuust fine.

Me neither. I didn't play the USC versions but I have the DC versions of Karous and Radilgy. I think I've played them each 2 or 3 times. I have Chaos Field on Gamecube and the only positive thing I can say about it is that it only cost ~20 versus buying the DC import for ~60.

I just reconfirmed my shipping date for this. I remember playing one of the RF games all the time at the PX at Fort Belvoir in the late 90s. I love shooters with multiple ships to choose from.

Well my OG pre-order didn't update like it should have.

So I canceled the 4 month old preorder and did another for the $19.99 price just in case.
 
I didn't see the price guarantee kick in, so I just shot a friendly email over and they took care of it for me.

I have noticed it usually takes 24 hours after a price drops for it to be updated in my pre-orders nowadays. That's what happened with Devil Summoner 2 and I'm betting that's what will happen with this game as well.
 
I'll probably buy this at $20 when I get some more money, but when I think about it if this was a 1600 point release on XBLA I'd probably pass on it for being too expensive.

My pre-order from January is still $29.99. I guess their "Pre-Order Guarantee" doesn't apply every time. I may just cancel and re-order.
 
Thanks -- this is a price redcution - so just in case, I cancelled my prior Amazon order and re-ordered this.
 
I preordered it when it was in my gold box, my order hasn't changed yet, but it should shortly, otherwise I'll cancel and reorder
