Well, this sure came out of nowhere. Wasn't expecting a US release for this at all. Tentative date is March 3rd and price is listed as $29.99, but of course, it's subject to change.

Aw snap, my GS had two copies today. Now they have one. I'd love to play it but I'm working on a stupid-big paper for school. I'll post impressions in the shmup thread later tonight.
 
I can confirm that the Del Mar, CA GS has it in stock at $19.99. After grabbing my copy, there should be 4 left there at the time of this posting. Since I'm still at work, it shouldn't show up on my GamerCard until this time tomorrow.

BTW, a bit off-topic but they also got their pre-order codes for Fight Night Round 4 on the 360.

I gave up the ghost also. I could wait 2 weeks for Amazon with free shipping, or walk into GS today, buy their last copy and pay 1.54 tax out the door and have it now.

Guess what I did?:booty:
 
Well I completely spaced out on this one. I will call tomorrow and see if one of my 3 GS's has one in stock. I am not waiting around for Amazon.

I wonder if GS got a deal where they got theirs early since they are gamestop.

Well good for you. I just checked to see if a GS had this in and to no avail. It's not anywhere near me in stock. Guess I'll just stick with Amazon for this one. BTW, does anyone know if this has ONLINE Co-Op? That would be epic.
 
No online co-op unfortunately, just local. The online is for leaderboard-type stuff.

My local GS didn't get theirs in yet, if at all, so I'm just going to wait on Amazon.

One of the GS's here didn't even bother looking, pretended to look it up on the computer, and told me that it hadn't came out and no store received games on a Friday.

I went 2 miles down the road to another Gamestop, who told me they received it today, were shocked it came in, then proceded to talk to me about Mame and shmups. No stores have it in the area, indeed.

Chances are, every GS has it, just most of them have no idea what it is or if it's in. I would definitely try back tomorrow.
 
The game is phucking awesome. The-longer-you-live-the-more-the-metals-are-worth mechanic is beyond addictive. I'm even on the 'boards right now, and it looks like only 52 people own this game as of this writing.:lol:

Way worth the $20 + tax I paid today. Shmups FTW!!:applause:

Ha ha... I call GS. Do you have Raiden Fighters Aces in? They say "One second... hmmm, it's not even in our system". I say it's on your web site (no idea really), they say "hmmmm, it's not here", I say are you sure, they say "hmmmmm oh yeah here it is , we have a lot of copies and it is $19.99".
 
Picked up earlier this afternoon at GS with my giftcard from utalkback.

Totally number 2 on one of the ships leaderboards! Yea...wonder how long that will last :lol:
 
I picked this up at a Gamestop near me even though the Item Availability search came up with no game near me within 100 miles.

So far I'm liking the game.
 
I picked this up at the Gamestop in the Montgomery Mall EB games in Bethesda, MD. Although the website didnt have the release date, they had 2 in stock and I got one of them.
 
Glad to see this actually made it out, I'm going to keep my Amazon order intact just because I'd rather not deal with GS on this matter. I hope it ships soon!

Probably since Ultimate Shooting Collection on the Wii has already dropped from $30 to $15 since it came out in late January.
 
Meh, the games on Ultimate Shooting Collection are marginal at best and two of them rely on gimmicky graphics to compete. This shit's legit. I'm not saying that it won't go down in price but unlike USC, this doesn't deserve to go down in price.

Don't be a dick, it's well worth the $20, and this is an extremely small publisher who deserves every cent for even taking the chance at localizing this.

The only game that I can recall that really stayed at the relase date price was Uncharted. For some reason, that game stayed at $60 for months, and months and months...

Um... well Yeah all games drop in price in the long run. What I meant is it seemed MasterKyo is implying this game would be dropping soon, where as I don't see that happening as It's already released at $20. I'm sure months down the road you can find a used copy for the wonderful $17.99 at Gamestop and cheaper with your edge or on eBay. But a overall MSRP drop to $15 or $10 would be a gamble at this point.

This is, ultimately, why I picked up a copy yesterday. I could have easily waited for a cheaper price, but a few dollars (of store credit) won't break me and I wanted to support both the publisher and the fact that they released this on a disc, rather than as a downloadable game.

Exactly. Look fellas, I understand that we are all cheap assess here, but look at the big picture for a moment:

1) Game was supposed to be $29.99. You've saved $10 already. Bang.

2) We always bitch about not getting any Shmups, then when we do get one (THREE GREAT ONES), then some of us wanna "wait it out".:roll:

C'mon guys! This isn't some million selling blockbuster that we would normally wait for the price drop. This is about as niche as it gets! Hopefully this little company will see the demand and maybe get into talks with Cave! Now wouldn't THAT be phucking awesome?

BUY THE DAMN GAME ALREADY...IT'S FREAKING 20 BUCKS!:drool:
 
Another reason I might actually cave and just get it is since it's in disc form as well as it having Co-op. It would be a cheap fun game for both my friend and I. We need more co-op choices.

Too bad it wasn't at BB.. I'd buy it today since I have a $10 gc.
 
friggin amazing.. went to the GS right next to my house and they had 2 copies. I obviously asked for mr. sealed copy of course . For the people trying to balk at a cheaper price... it was dropped from $30 to $20 . I still have my amazon order and if I get it ill gift it to a buddy who really likes it.
Knoxximus: I agree w/ everything you said regarding getting it and not being a turd and waiting. 3 games @ $20 is a friggin steal. I wouldnt be surprised if this game shoots up higher over the coming months/years.

EDIT:

Music it a little tad different then the japanese version but im playing on a different av-setup altogether. Does not play on a J-360

I went to youtube for video as saw a couple that said demo, I thought shwet! I'll get the demo while I wait. There wasn't any on Xbl. :(
 
A demo would be great, I really don't want to add to my backlog right now. Somehow I don't think we'll be getting one though.
 
I believe there's a demo on the Japanese marketplace, but they haven't put one up for any other region unfortunately.
 
Checked in at my local Gamestop and they had my preorder, but they've yet to send out calls. I think they had 4 copies, because I had mentioned the game to the manager and he went nuts over it.

Anyway, if you're a SHMUP fan, BUY THIS GAME.
 
i can confirm the demo works just fine on a US 360. it's been on my hdd for at least 8 months.

also, if you don't buy this game at $20 then you don't even want this game. look for something else to spend your precious $10 on because this isn't for you.

Those "first advantages" often are an effect of the product originating from Japan. A lot of audio/visual device/game/music/video comes from Japan so that is only natural. In America we had the advantage of buying an Xbox/360 first didn't we?

No, they are not more nuts about gaming than the U.S. The industry/market here is bigger, more profitable, and is inspiring Japanese companies to "westernize" their practices.

I'm not sure about 99%, but yes, Japan accommodates their homes with much faster internet service much more densely than the U.S. But you also have to consider Japan is a small fraction of the size of the U.S (and fiber optic cabling isn't exactly cheap).
