Rainbow Six: Vegas - Gen. Discussion & Info

Its funny how everyone is having an orgasm over GOW and they havent ever played it and this game is going under the radar for the most part

How is that funny? Rainbow Six (and tactical shooters in general) has been done many, many times before. Gears of War is a fresh style on the shooter genre-- something gamers haven't played before.

3 on the PC was as well. As the series became popular on consoles it started to morph into something less realistic.

It's fresh only because you have a ChainSaw on the end of your gun. ;) I see GoW as KillSwitch 2: The Future. I'll still buy it though just to see what all the fuss is about plus I liked the trailer.
 
Post here if anyone's been able to pick up their copy today... I see 20th on most store sites but people have been getting the call since yesterday.
 
Im getting it form amazon on the 27th or so....i am going to New Orleans until the 25th so i am not worried. PLus at $40 it was worth it

Gold just means that they have finished the master copy of the game and it can be pressed onto the retail discs and packaged.
 
Man, I'm actually glad this is getting pushed a bit. There's no way I'd buy it now with a somewhat similar game (Gears) still hot off the presses, even though I like Vegas just as much (if not more)....at least based on the demo.

Was planning on getting it on day 1, but may wait until I'm a little tired of GoW now. Still a must-buy for me though.
 
I'm assuming the 4 player online co-op is for the campaign mode.
I wonder how many people can play together during Terrorist Hunt.

I don't know, but after playing through Gears co-op, playing 4 player co-op in a similar game so soon seems like a dream come true.

Definitely have a chub for this one.
 
God another highly rated 360 game for the holidays. I'll have to dig up cash for this one now instead of Feb. MY DAMN WALLET IS DYING! An Corp :(
 
Wow. I'm not really an R6 fan, but this one looks mighty tempting. I think the 4 player co-op would be a deciding factor. I guess I'll wait for a good sale and more community feedback, but this one is definitely on my radar now.

With that 9.3, I might get it when it comes out, although I know I'll never play it because of Gears. I really enjoyed the single player demo and hope the multiplayer is like RainbowSix3.
 
ill try out the demo... im sure this games price will drop so fast that I wont even realize it, so ill buy it 3 months from now... GoW and zelda for me now.
 
Multiplayer is a blast in my opinion. Get together with some people that work together and its online crack. I'll be getting this on day one for sure.
 
played the multiplayer, and uh, the graphics just...aren't that great it seems. Gears has spoiled me to be honest. the gameplay...felt very robotic...i dunno...seems eventually it can be fun, but not $60 dollars fun.
 
I think the graphics are bad but when I look at it looks everyone was done good graphically wise it just doesn't pop at all and its very washed out.
 
Hehe funny to hear you guys knocking the graphics when it uses the Unreal 3 engine, same as gears.

Guess that just goes to show how important talented artists are.

In the match I was hosting we were all discussing that. They are both running Unreal engine 3. They toned the graphics so much though, it does play smooth though but it looks like an Xbox 1 game.

well...obviously. just because it uses the same engine, doesn't mean it's going to be great.
