Red Dead Redemption - Undead Nightmare out now!
when is the next game night to coordinate the multiplayer trophies? The only one I need in SP is the same horse for half the game. The remaining stuff is all multiplayer.
We had a pretty big crew about a week ago - almost big enough for Posse Up!, but it was impromptu. I don't know if Jodou managed to get it for himself, but that's the only one I'm lacking. I imagine there's probably enough people interested in trophies/goofing off to schedule a specific night to do so.

Nah, haven't touched the game since. If everyone that keeps asking about trophies can decide on a date, then we can just knock them all out in one go. Is there even 8 people lurking that need this?

There was a multiplayer thread started by AndrewsAwesome(before he switched his user name to something else)but that died with the Final Four bs since every game seemed to fall on game night(Sunday at 10pm).

If we can get 8 people for posse up, then I can do any night. I dont have jodou's psn id yet, but I do have IATCG on my friends list.

FYI, starting 9/3 GS will be giving out the first paid DLC for FREE with purchase of the game. Now, I'm assuming the only way they can facilitate this is a code printed on the receipt. You can use that information however you wish. ;)

If anyone is around right now and wants to try for one of the missing trophies let me know. Otherwise I'm gonna play a little bit of GTA EFLC free roam and call it a night.

Just got back from GS; the free DLC code does indeed print on the receipt, so if you're planning on getting this as a gift for someone now is the time.

FYI, they're still giving out Deadly Assassin codes as well (also prints on the receipt), so this is a great deal.

You're not talking about the "Outlaws To The End" pack, are you? If so, that's still free on the Playstation Store as of the last time I checked.

But if you're talking about the pack that adds in Liar's Dice and Poker to mp, then that IS a pretty good deal, since that pack is $10 otherwise.

EDIT: Nevermind. It's the one that "adds" multiplayer locations that you can already go to in free roam without having to pay extra for the privilege. It also adds in the character skins from Red Dead Revolver and the tomahawk mp weapon. Not that good of a deal after all then if you're like me and rarely change your character/weapons.

Yeah, it's for Legends and Killers, a $9.99 value. On another note, the manager that I've known forever there let me in on some upcoming DLC supposedly coming out around Halloween. He said it basically turns EVERYTHING undead; townsfolk, skeleton horses, etc. This was at their annual conference, so I'm guessing it will be announced soon.

will they just be undead looking people or will they attack like zombies?

Zombies is the word he used to describe them, but I didn't really ask. He was really animate about the John Marston skin that had a glowing 'dead eye' with blood dripping down, though.

I could use a bunch of the MP trophies as well...I've been thinking of trading this game in $25.xx @ Amazon, not bad. Kaiser if I see you playing and not in the middle of something I will play.

Since no one who wanted to add me to play this game seems to be playing it anymore I've been deleting people. If you and Kaiser are playing some night shoot me a message on PSN and I'll pop the game in to play for a bit.

If anyone is around and wants to get a posse going now I'll be on in about 20 minutes. If not, I'll probably just play some GTA and blow shit up like usual.
Is the Undead Nightmare Pack single player only? What will multiplayer get because I'd like to kill zombies with my friends? - Anthony

The Undead Nightmare Pack will include single player and multiplayer components, and we’ll be announcing more specifics here on the Newswire in the not too distant future.

Undead Nightmare?? What’s up with this zombie stuff? I hope this doesn’t ruin the western feel of Red Dead!received via Mouthoff

We hear what you are saying. We love the world of Red Dead Redemption and wouldn’t do anything to sully it. While we respect your doubts, we ask you to trust us – when you play the game, you will understand what we have done and, we hope, why. The game is shaping up nicely and the combination of cowboys and zombies works really well. We hope that when you see some trailers and screenshots from the game, we can begin to change your mind.
Another $10 money grab, but it seems that it will add true zombies to the game. Hopefully GS will 'give away' more DLC codes around that time. ;)

Anyone able to do the GS gift receipt deal? Cheapest, what are your normal play hours, so I can make sure I am on RDR instead of another game commitment. I really want to knock out alot of the online challenges, but I need to read up on the best strategy to accomplish them.

I foresee a challenge with the bounty challenge in public free roam with randoms gunning for me after getting the bounty.

Yes, and they're still printing with the Deadly Assassin code to boot.

I'm usually on starting at 9-10pm, though as of late I've been staying on really late(as in 3-4 am). Around those times there's very few other players, so you can do the challenges that require being in public free roam around then.

Probably the biggest challenges in mp to do are the ones involving getting a certain level of bounty. A friend and I tried getting to the $7500 bounty level the one night in the fort in Mexico, which is a pretty good way to do it since there's only two doors to get into the place.

However there's also a lot of ridges around it, so the Mexican army members can shoot you from a good distance away and kill you without even coming into the fort.

If you use the right-most cannon (looking out of the fort, towards the road) you can easily defend all day long. I had something like a 20k bounty once doing that and the trick is that federales will get stuck on the wall to your left and shooting a certain spot (blackened part) will kill them through the wall. Your multiplier can get pretty high most of the time, so it's decent exp too.

Unfortunately some cannons can end up shooting the actual wall right next to you if you aim too far right or left and thus you'll end up dead pretty quick.

I had a $5k+ bounty the one night and went to shoot up a bunch of federales that were incoming and the shot hit the wall and I was dead.

What irks the crap out of me so much though is not the random people coming in and trying to kill you(then again I always use private free roam), it's the cops who can pick you off from 300+ feet away with a pea shooter.

A lot of the time those guys would get bugged and be stuck warping back in place over and over. So funny watching the mini-map and seeing them off in the distance just infinitely loop.

Cheapest are you Eastern standard time? I should be on more now that I beat borderlands. I'm going to try for that 5k one I was just running around randomly...not a good idea, I died a lot.

Yeah. I'm on Eastern time, so if you're on at 9pm I should be on by then usually.

I saw Kaiser on last night not playing anything for a long time, but by then I was already playing GTA free roam and I was waiting on a friend I always play with to show up(but he never did:cry:).

Well $5000 bounty is done that didn't take very long. I went to Armadillo killed a few that sat in the doctors office behind the counter killed a bunch of officers...save, repeat. Alright Cheapest I won't be on tonight I usually on around 9-10E.

I'm on right now, but probably not for long. I might try and take a walk to the mall downtown for some copies of Resident Evil Gold for 360 to take to Best Buy.;)

Haha, cheapest. I just got the posse up trophy, and need to do all the advanced coop missions (gold), do a 2 man normal coop, win 3 ffa in a row, win 4 group games in a row, get wanted for 10 minutes and get away clean, and I cant remember what else. I will play RDR today, preferrence over MW2.

Unfortunately I'm dead tired tonight. I didn't get any sleep last night and I ran around this evening a bit, so I'm probably just gonna crash for tonight.

As for tomorrow night(Sunday), which was supposed to have been the 'official' CAG RDR game night:roll:, we shall see but I'm watching the premiere of the new Venture Bros. episodes on Adult Swim starting tomorrow night again.

But before then we'd be ok to play a bit.

New VB Episodes are out? I'm gonna have to set my DVR!! If I'm around tonight I might play some RDR, I need to get some multiplayer trophies myself.

Yeah. They've been advertising them for a week or two now. Although I think the episodes they're starting to show tonight are only the second half of this newest season, which they started months ago.

I guess they wanted to have some time to prep part of another new season before they showed the rest of this season. I am kinda grateful that they're doing that though, since I think it took 2 years for a new season this last time.

Didn't know about this, thanks for the heads-up. Re: episodes, adult swim seems to work differently from most other places as far as episode ordering/production goes, they seem to take a more cautious route which is why we get alot of half-seasons and one year gaps (I'd imagine the animation studios for these shows are alot smaller too which adds to production time). But yeah, the gap between season 1 and 2 was two years, man that was a wait! I think Boondocks was the same way.

Anyways, sorry for the OT, back to topic. I bought RDR at launch but the green paper monster got the best of me (I paid $35 for it and it was selling for $70+ on ebay due to the DLC), but I just found another copy for $20 at the pawn shop yesterday so I guess it's time to get back on the horse.... oh god.

Yeah I just checked my DVR and it doesn't show any new eps for VB (had it set to record new eps, so I set to record tonight's ep manually).
Anyways I should be online in about an hour or so if you guys are still gonna play.

Since the show comes on at 11:30 on the east coast, I'm probably gonna log off to watch it, but may pop back on to play for a bit AFTER the show(midnight-ish).

But I'm on right now with my PS3 sitting on the XMB not doing anything, so if anyone wants to pop on and play NOW let's do this.

EDIT: TVguide.com shows it's a new episode for tonight called "Diving Bell Vs. The Butter Glider".

Oh and I'm on RDR right now.

I don't know if I handle the grind of trying to platinum RDR, the sharpshooting, collecting flowers challenges are boring...this game maybe going back to Amazon earlier.

I got killed about 3-4 times by frickin' cougars trying to collect just FOUR Red Sage by Fort Mercer earlier. What's worse is the game re-spawned me almost in the same spot I died, so it made it easier for the cougar to kill me again.

But the collection things are easier to do if you break up the tedium by doing gang hideouts to attempt to level up in between.

So I'm new to this site as well as online gaming. Figure I may as well move beyond 1-player gaming since I have the option to do so. So far I've had my butt kicked a couple times in Madden and I've jammed a bit in Rock Band 2. Reckon I'm gonna give Red Dead a try and see how I like it.

Found this site searching for trade-in value for XBox 360. It's kinda neat.

OK. I should be back on in a few minutes if anyone is on and wants to try for some challenges or trophies they're missing.

EDIT: No one is on or playing RDR so I'm going to play some GTA: EFLC
I still need the damn Posse Up for plat. So sad my last trophy is something that takes zero skill to do.
Same here. I've been busy with other things, so I haven't really had time to attempt to do it yet with random free roamers.

Just need advice on where to grind xp for leveling. I am around level 30, thinking either coop or grinding hideouts, to get to level 50. In between grinding I have to play a second time through to get the 20 levels with the same horse trophy, that I missed the first go round. So I have at least a few hours in sp ahead of me.

Lots of the coop trophies left to do for 100%. I will help out for your posse up trophy if you set a date and time.

I actually did most of mine offline, but they've since patched that with the most recent update. I believe exp goes up based on the amount of players in the current free roam so you may want to try find a somewhat crowded free roam. However, the risk goes up as well since you have a much higher chance of getting griefed when doing this.
I think if we just set up a Posse Up night with 4-5 CAG's, we could pug the rest to get people their trophies.
I'm in if we could decide on a night to do this.

That's why we could make a private free roam and just invite 4-5 CAG's to play some hideouts with to help with leveling. By the way, I don't know if any of you want to try to get ALL of the levels or not, but you actually have to go to level 50 about 4-5 times or so to get all of the various mounts for multiplayer.

Different hideouts give different levels of XP though, with Pike's Basin and several others giving on average about 1100xp per run usually. The worst one is up near the northwest corner of the map. I forget the name of it but on average that one was giving me 400-600XP, which still isn't bad for essentially 10 minutes effort.

As for the night to do this, when IKilledChewbacca(formerly AndrewsAwesome) originally started the RDR multiplayer thread he had up a poll asking which day should be CAG RDR night. It was agreed upon via that poll that Sundays at 10pm should be the day and time.

However the Final Four and/or NBA Finals were on tv around then so a majority of people who played the first week didn't bother coming back since then. Personally I've never understood the big deal of any sports on tv, but if that's your thing then whatever.

With that all having been said I'm still down for playing any night of the week. I get on around 10pm EST most nights and as of late I've seen more than a few of you on but no one is playing anything. So if some of you want to play, just shoot me a PM on there and we can get things going.

I need pretty much all of the trophies for online. Most of the online I've done has been in LAN or Private with my nephew. If anyone wants to me add me to play this please do. I really would like to get those trophies for Plat, but from what I've read about the online in this, I don't dare try it on my own.
